Demolition Man is the quintessential 90s action movie about 20th Century cop John Spartan (Sylvester Stallone) who gets frozen and thawed in the peaceful 21st century city of San Angeles.
Spartan joins with San Angeles Police Officer Lenina Huxley (Sandra Bullock) and together they must stop Simone Phoenix (Wesley Snipes) who is the master criminal from the 20th.

There are scenes cut out with Wesley Snipes villain shoots the Bill Cobbs character. Also there are scenes cut out with Sylvester Stallone taking out cryocon henchmen. There's also the cut out scene when Sylvester Stallone fights Jesse Ventura at the cryo-prison.

I laughed at this movie when I was a teen when it came out. I'm not laughing now. The folks who wrote it knew the direction we were headed as a society.

Also, along with the film Passenger 57, this movie was one of the first times Wesley Snipes got to showcase his martial art mastery-- since before he starred in action film, it wasn’t widely known that he was a martial artist and black belt master… he started at between 11-12 years old in the martial arts. So basically if given the chance his Nino Brown character could have beating the ever loving garbage out of ICE-T, but the role just demand him be a normal kinda sorta street fighting drug kingpin psycho

I don't get this movie. Was the whole world pacified like San Angeles? Was it just that one megalopolis? All of America? Canada, I can see. But how would the rest of the US act? Especially since the catalyst for this Perfect Society was an earthquake in CA. So people in Philly and Boston and Atlanta wouldn't be affected quite the same way. Were they all on board with this society on Ambien?
