  • Hari Om !!
Swamiji starts day three with the first verse once again. The metaphor used by the scripture to explain to us the relationship between the body and its master is further discussed in this talk to take our attention from the body to the Self within. Each part of the house, the transactions that are undertaken in the house, the various internal infrastructure of the house, the purpose of the house, and most importantly, the existence of the master of the house are discussed vividly to drive our attention to our body and its master. The house is important till the time the master is residing in it. In the same way, the body is important till the time the Lord exists in it. The body starts disintegrating the moment the Consciousness leaves it.
That Consciousness is birthless, deathless and free from any modifications. Most important is Consciousness, which is not a product born out of the body but is the master that keeps the body intact, sentient, and functional.
The purpose of discussing this relationship is to become free from all sorrows.
After that, Swamiji dwells in detail on the word anuṣṭhāya in verse number 1, which is an essential concept for sadhakas to understand. The goal is to become free from all sorrows, and the path is anuṣṭhāya (meditation), paying attention and knowing the Self. The points discussed:
    ● Are there any other ways to get rid of sorrow completely?
    ● Why, without knowing the Self, can one not extinguish sorrows?
    ● How to gain the knowledge?
    ● What is the process for meditation- Swamiji discusses the process at length and gives a very important tip- USE THE OBJECT TO TURN THE ATTENTION TOWARDS THE SUBJECT
The difference between spiritual and worldly people is not in their external appearance but in where they pay attention. A worldly person pays attention to the worldly object, and a spiritual person pays attention to the Self.
Ignorance comes from ignoring the Self in us. Knowledge comes from paying attention to the Self. This is the path to liberation.
    Verse 2
Swamiji continues the explanation of the word ṛtasat used in verse 2. The transactional truth and Absolute truth are connected; to know the Absolute truth, it is essential to be truthful in the transactional world.
How the entire cosmos can be used to go within is explained with the help of the below terms:
    ● Vyomasat - dwellers in the space (mediation on the space)
    ● abjā - born in the water or the aquatic world on the earth
    ● gojā - born on the earth or from the earth
    ● ṛtajā - born out of sacrifice- a selfless act which gives birth to peace within
    ● adrijā- born out of the mountain - rivers
The entire creation is nothing but vibhutis of the Lord. These are all taṭastha lakṣaṇa of the Lord. The remaining two terms, which are svarupa lakṣaṇa of the Lord, will be discussed in the next class.

    Hari Om Swamiji.
A profound discourse to hold on to the truth by "paying attention."
    Become free from sorrows.
    But first" know yourself."
"I AM NOT THE BODY" by divinising your vision.
Dwell in truth, pay attention, do 'anushthanam' or meditation.
    Done through Shravanam,Mananam n Nididhyasana.
Meditation will bring peace, bliss n purity.
This will help to perform duty by sacrificing individuality.
Thinking of 'samashti' one will serve for the welfare of society.
Through 'Tatasth Lakshanam' God is experienced n connected.
This purified mind when free from sorrows feels liberated.
    Regards n pranams .
