You betcha, however after a long day of driving, most of what I say back to the GPS would have to be edited out. My spousal unit has often told me that she would rather get out rather than listen to me talk to an inanimate object that can't answer back. Oh well it is what it is. LOL

Our Class A is all set for boondocking. Last spot we stayed was Tuttle creek camp ground, at Alabama Hills in Lone Pine Ca. Beautiful! High Sierras one side high desert other. Spent 2.5 weeks. Trash and RV dump. Also the movie sites from yesterday, see the museum. . Senior America the Beautiful card $8 a day. Enjoyed the creek, and bats at sunset! Stay put for awhile and save gas money. Lone Pine is a great place.

Loved the video....as usual. Long travel days and multiple travel days definitely wear on you and after our adventure out west last Sept, from Knoxville, TN to our first stop in Williams, AZ, Peggy and I were definitely ready for a break. Five travel days in a row, with day 4 being 475 miles. I will NEVER do that again. BTW...we stayed at the Railside RV Ranch, based on y'alls comments on it from a couple of years ago...Nice. The Portal in Moab was a beautiful place too. Thanks for the suggestions guys and safe travels.

Yes, they can be tiring, but like you, I like to limit time/distance. We are on a count-down to going full time in retirement as we are leaving CA at that time. For all the reasons you pointed out in this video, we are set on a class-A diesel pusher with a Toad. Hope to see you out there on the road some day.

As someone who has RVed their entire life, but just recently went full time, it's the travel days that have been the biggest pain/reward. We've finally gotten our system down to a few hours for breakdown and a few hours for setup. Our problem is we stay in a spot for a few months with the way contracts work for us, and then we usually move a long distance in a very short period of time. Fitting all of our stuff into our travel trailer can be quite the hassle. We're getting a cargo trailer this week to help the haul for the future, but hopefully, we can move to a fifth wheel that better meets our needs soon.
Also we love the way Gigi annunciates KOA, and when we go to places that have movies about them we love to watch while we're there. Did you enjoy a viewing of Tread while in Granby? LOL

Long travel days can be a drain on you, and when you aren't used to them, it seems like it's even worse. Because of our location we have to travel about 1100 miles to our "first" true destination before heading to the second one, and we now spend an extra day at the first one just to unwind and relax a little bit. I can't begin to imagine how much of a challenge it is for Tara - my heart goes out to you for keeping as upbeat as you do (I know we don't see you on the bad days, nor would I expect to - you need your "me" time just like everyone else).

Even with a 21' RV trailer fuel stops can be difficult. Prices on-highway are highest, but they're usually a straight shot that doesn't require tight turns. If I'm below half a tank sometimes I'll top off when I see a convenient place. I hate running low and having to use a cramped little gas station.

We have been full-timing for about 7 months now. For us, it's an exception rather than a rule to have reservations for each night. Our travel plans are pretty fluid and we boondock a lot.
We try to plan out our fuel stops, but nothing is for sure until it happens!
    😉
We try not to go more than 3 hours, but again, it depends on how we feel.

Spot on with rest areas and travel days. I added a 60 gal reserve tank in my truck so we can drive all day and minimize stops. I make better time that way. With the truck tank, that’s about 90 gal of fuel. When we stop for the day, I unhitch and fuel the truck for the next day. I hate wasting time on fuel stops. We travel from about 8 am to 3 pm each day. If I extend the day a little, I can make 500 miles a day but I don’t push it that hard every day.

Hi guys! Love your videos and you guys!! I know you loved staying at River Run in Granby and it looks great, however, if and when you come back to this area, you really should stay at Winding River Resort in Grand Lake. It is just outside of the entrance to RMNP. It is heaven! Many spots are big rig friendly and have full hookups. You do have to make reservations several months in advance and our favorite spots there are large back in sites and are 8, 9, 10 and 11.

I have to agree travel days are a bit stressful for me. Towing a long heavy trailer is challenging enough without worrying what some speed demon in a car will do. …pass then brake hard to make a turn…YIKES!!!
They see a truck/trailer and HAVE to pass even if you’re traveling at the speed limit.
You’re right pulling off to let even 1 car pass is preferable to them getting antsy, passing in a poor area and putting several vehicles at risk.
    Great video!!

Great video!! Travel days are always so iffy. Some are great and some are hell! Haha I have autoimmune issues, a spinal disease, fibromyalgia and arthritis, so I totally understand what you mean about travel days being miserable in the truck. That's the worst part for sure!! I've done that same drive in different segments. So pretty and so boring at the same time haha In highschool I actually worked for a company (from Idaho) that went to Rock Springs, Wy and plumbed a new hotel there in town. The college there in town has a dinosaur museum! Really cool!! Love the videos! Stay safe!! 👍🤠

So I hear you are getting a Ford F-450 you will love it because of the turn radius. I added air lift air bags and getting ready to install the sumo stops on front.

We enjoy your videos! Questions: 1. What is your favorite recipe for the beef stew? 2. Have you ever book a site and wished that you could have stayed longer but couldn't because you had reservations at another location? If yes, how do you allow for longer/shorter stays if your plans change? P.S. Daisy is just so adorable!

Toward the end inside River Run RV Camp...Chad could have showed them how to get their location put on Google Maps...looks like someone had some cash to invest in an RV Park ! In a couple of years the trees will benefit much more as they grow. I have to agree...with todays RV's and people needs as well as the cost for spaces, you would think a new park design would have more space between neighbors and less constrictive navigation throughout the Park. I guess the theory is like any tract home development...maximize plots, not maximize experience.
With a lot of those slow pokes on the road, especially when climbing, I simply find a lower gear and hold it there with the cruise control on and enjoy the ride. Usually at some point the slow poke pulls over and even if not...its still not so bad. You can imagine some drivers are seasonal and have white knuckles on mountain roads and steep grades. You'd think those folks would get better training about their rig and driving it.

I just came across the boondocks fail video with the wind storm and the awning problem. You can save a ton of headaches if you use wall toggle anchors and silicone. Use the aluminum ones so you. Don't have to worry about them ever again. If you have any questions your welcome to message me and I can give e you more info but your smart people and should have no problem if you decide to go that route but it will save money and time. Thanks for the great content, good luck out there..
