The deshedding tool you tested is a furminator style rake. As a dog groomer, I don’t recommend it at all for double coated dogs. It cuts fur, that’s why it appears to outperform a traditional rake. I recommend a wire bristled slicker brush to effectively deshed in addition to the rake you have been using.

Brookstone in the malls used to mean "High Quality"...now it just means, not quite Temu, but faster than Wish...
I have a sound machine from them that I adore & it came with a nice eye mask. Plays white noise while I sleep. I keep it on all day sometimes and it still works. I agree it isn’t luxury quality though
I l8ke my deshedding tool. Comes with a button that pushes hair off the tool. Very handy. Have no idea where I bought it from,…possibly PetSmart, years ago when they had that Treat Trail portion on the app.Once I got better at the game, I was getting 10, 15, and 20% off coupons. Ah, those were the days. Then one day PS app developers took it off the app. I then found out that PS did not want it anymore.😱 Boooooo. 🤬😡🤬😡
Just proved the downfall of so many companies! I always loved going into Brookstone stores as you could actually try out items. I was hoping to see this butterfly thing work but………???
The Electric drumsticks were known as Hit Stix back in the mid to late 80's...and they were just as bad back then 🤣

I thought they looked familiar.
Back then, they had an earphone jack and a piece you had to wear like a Walkman. Far less annoying to parents. But then worked about as well.

I loved it when Bailey rolled on the pig she was so excited!
That was pretty funny. I at first thought Bailey tooted ...but nope, just blame it on Bailey's beloved piggy.
I think the drumsticks could be fun as an inexpensive toy to easily entertain kids. I could see visiting kids having fun with those. The lamp was a bust. I would use the wine cooler to put icecubes in at my next party. I think I would get more use out of it that way!

We just had to put our dog Bailey down last week. Every time I would watch your videos and you would call your dog, mine would look around to see who wanted her lol. It brought tears to my eyes watching alone. Give your dog a hug for me.
I am so terribly sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved Bailey. It warms my heart to hear that she connected with my videos in her own special way. I will give Bailey an extra hug and kiss in her memory.

I bought my dog one of those pig toys for Xmas(wasn't from Marshalls but was same price) she loves it but thinks when it squeals that she is hurting it. She picks it up as gently as possible and carries it to bed with her every night and then back to the couch in the morning. Named him pork chop.

@jxchamb It's a Grandparent right of passage and always has been. You'll do it for your grandkids to annoy your kids, your kids will do it for their grandkids, etc. Just enjoy it while you still have them that young. It's up there with hopping them up on sugar then sending them home, and buying the cool presents while the parents buy clothes...
A pet storage container? I don't think a dog would be happy being stored in there long term. Maybe for a day.

Yes! They have unique food items
James, when I brush my Shetland Sheepdogs I used the same fine toothed "rake" (they used to call them). BUT, I would get the best results (& get done quicker) if I went from tail to head. Going from tail to head, really gets all the undercoat that can get really matted.
I'm sure you do that already. And that this video was for the purpose of testing the product you purchased. But I just wanted to make others aware of it works best! :)

My dog is a destructive chewer and I got him a pig and he didn't destroy it.
Those drumsticks are somehting to give my 10 year old nehpew and tell him to play it around his mom when she is cooking dinner
And then she'll give something even more annoying to your kids the next Christmas.

The Wine Bottle Cooler would probably work even better if you put it in the refrigerator while the wine bottle is getting cold before setting them out, Or even better you could probably get even better results if you put the wine bottle cooler in the Freezer instead. That way when you have it sitting out it is already colder & will probably work better keeping wine bottles colder for longer. lol
I have a small square pan with two circle areas for eggs, or baked beans, etc, and a larger square area for fries or a steak, etc. It's about the third of a size of a regular frying pan. Cost me $8! I love it!

Lol, I'm so glad you didn't squeak that toy, my two mutts would go apeshit if they heard it. I have to mute videos that make noises like that because of how crazy these two are for squeakables.

Marshall’s is my favorite store! I look there for my needs before checking out other stores because they never disappoint and their prices beat out most other stores. I just came home from there with a diatomaceous earth bath mat for $20! Even Amazon can’t beat that.

Ha ha ha, the drumsticks were hilariously fuunny and hopeless at the same tiime. I've seen those one egg pans but couldnt bring myself to pay for such a one hit tool. The light was rooted and i hope you get ur money back; and Bailey looked to be the big winner with the pig. If i see those pigs instore i cant help myself,, gotta sqeeze it.

Hey James! Love your stuff, man! Just wanted to throw in a de-shedding tool pro tip! You really don't want to apply any pressure when using those types of brushes. They can easily pierce a dogs skin and will rip out hair that's not ready to come out with too much pressure. The weight of the brush is all the pressure you want to apply.
The sticks sound like they lifted the sound from a drum machine

I go out of my way to the next town to buy dog beds from Marshall’s. They have the best prices on good quality dog beds for my 50 lb dog.
Drum sticks ok for 3 year old. But beginning sound sounded like the spring in my box spring in 1970s
Marshalls Tj Maxx Ross all have different stuff but some great deals to he found and lots of stuff for Pets .

That deshedding brush seems to use the same design as Furminator brushes, so that’s actually a really good deal money-wise, if I remember correctly those brushes are about $40!
The drumsticks gave me a headache, but I had a good laugh.

I went into an Asian inspired 'home wares' store, back in 2012, and picked up a thin aluminum pan, that is perfect for eggs.
I also do mini pancakes too.

Think I’ve seen that boneyard once. He’s very organized. Plastic crates ar3 labeled and crates went on those sturdy metal shelving and maybe in nice portioned area. I might be thinking garage or one of those upscaled storage places. That part I don’t remember. I don’t recall the very beginning.
Thanks! My pup loves his pig. I bought a ball that holds treats, they roll it, then they get a treat and has a sound. I can't find many treats that fit the hole so I would love to see what treats you would find to fit and I would love to see Balley play with it is called wobble wag giggle. the problem with the deshedding brush that I'd worry about is if a dog has mats or anything. the closer together the teeth of the rake, the more likely it is to pull on the dogs fur and make them uncomfortable.
I agree, I saw those small teeth, so close together, & cringed.

Multipet toys are great! One of my dogs is obsessed with the "Duckworth" plush they make. It's the only plush toy he hasn't destroyed. He has all 5 colors and knows which one is which

Of course Bailey was adorable... but the obvious aside, those sticks.. man.... Remember Hit Stix, I think it was with an X ... Similar to this, from the 80s or 90s, wired to a speaker you'd wear on your belt, kinda big speaker really. And they were GREAT. Polyphonic, excellent build quality, great sounds... and not all that expensive. Things were just better then.
There was a name brand of scented pencils and I got a few of them back in 2018 and the brand is Smencils

I grew up without a working stove in a lot of our houses we used an electric fryingpan for almost everything. As an adult I still use one for a lot of different meals.

Man Brookstone needs to reevaluate, I was crying laughing at how bad that butterfly "projector" was.
I had that mini egg pan once. It got used once and then headed straight for the garbage can. I hope you have better luck than I did.

My local vet uses the same type of rake brush. I bought one & it works fabulously.

As a drummer... omg that ear torture haha... that was just bad! If I'm not mistaken there was a legitimate toy growing up in the 90's that was nearly identical and just as bad. I've noticed on most of these items you buy that the "Brookstone" ones tend to absolutely stink -- when I worked at Staples we used to put out a Christmas display of cheapy Brookstone "gifts" and items for the holiday near the front of the store, and none of them ever truly worked or were appealing -- more oft than not just cheap and junky.
I think it was more second half of the 80s, but yes. Most of the elementary schools where I subbed (before getting my contract) banned them because they were such a distraction.

reason i think microwave doesn't work well for the eggs is the yolks actually set at a lower temp than the whites and unlike conventional cooking methods microwaves don't cook things evenly so you will never get the necessary control on heating the whites before the yolk sets
