    What kills me about these products is that I feel just about no one makes a quality one. Every manufacturer for some reason wants to create an "all in one" device that is somewhere between an easy bake oven and a somewhat useful appliance.

    Fun fact for the day, how easy an egg peels has nothing to do with the way it cooks. Fresh eggs are difficult to peel, a week or more old eggs peel easily. That's because the inside of the egg shrinks a bit while in storage.
    So if you want to always have easy to peel eggs, just let them sit for a few days!

    The thing with toasters if you ask me, is that it all depends on. Is it a cold toaster or a warm toaster. On mine the first time I put bread in it in the morning. I have to set it to level two. However, if I am making additional toast after I've done that I have to set it to one or it burns. So in my experience, whether or not the toaster has been used recently determines how Brown the toast is. A cold toaster takes longer than a recently used warm toaster.

    I noticed when you did the bagel and meat... when you showed the bagel in the toaster just after the bacon and sausage went on the pan, the bottom and top of the bagel were against the heat. The inside of the bagel was on the cool side. It looks like it would work better with the top and bottom facing each other. That might have been the issue with your English Muffin during the first test.
    Also, thank you for clarifying the "Canadian bacon" part 😂 I'm from Canada and looked at what you threw on the grill and was like.. tf is that? That's not Canadian bacon! It gave me a good chuckle that you jumped at clarifying that 😂

    The trick to making eggs peel easier is the ice bath. Putting your hard boiled eggs into an ice bath for a few minutes immediately after cooking makes them easier to peel.

    I think all of these products are really only useful for dorms, campers, or offices in my case. Anywhere space is tight. I have the Nostalgia toaster oven that has been dependable while not overly useful. But it is nice to prepare a snack or last-minute meal.

    I must take aim at what you show as your toast test. I recently bought a KitchenAid toaster, and, as I like a fairly dark toast went and cooked multiple pieces of toast to get my desired darkness. however, when it came the next morning, there was a significant difference to the darkness compared to my tests.
    Do you allow a cooling off time between your tests or are they back-to-back, as this will definitely have a difference in the toasting and will ultimately skew any result.

    I think the idea of the breakfast station is great, but it would be even better if everything cooked evenly. Something like a breakfast sandwich machine is very limited in what one can make with it, but at least everything cooks evenly and comes out nice and hot.

    In defense of the toaster: Different breads toast at different rates. I can buy two different brands of white bread and one will burn at 2 when the other one is perfectly toasted. Something like a wheat bread or a sourdough bread will take longer than a sandwich white.

    I regularly go to conventions, things like this help keep food cost for me low. Food at conventions is about a high as at an airport. That saying, I would like one that works well and is affordable.

  • @ItsJustLisa
    @ItsJustLisa Před 12 dny

    Based on all of these breakfast stations, this one was probably the most consistent where the cooking surface was concerned. The pancake and the breakfast meats proved that. And the steaming feature actually worked! I still wouldn’t buy one, but at least this one actually did what they said it would.

    This thing would be pretty good if it had a decent timer and a little bit better toaster. Neither are expensive or complicated products. Mind blowing that they didn't spent 10 extra bucks to get it to a level that everyone who goes camping would buy one.

  • @chrisnzella
    @chrisnzella Před 11 dny

    Toast on 4. Put peanut butter on it. I like it that way.
    Also it would depend on the thickness of the bread.

    Flawed but I could actually see this as a traveling mini kitchen for car travelers. We are on the road, staying in cheap motels about 10,000 miles every year. Being able to cook a serviceable breakfast in your motel room could make the road miles bearable. Could probably do an OK sandwich too.

  • @Parzivle
    @Parzivle Před 19 hodinami

    This thing would have been kickass when I was homeless staying at motels. You really begin to feel the strain of eating nothing but microwaved or cold food after a while.

  • @Samtagri
    @Samtagri Před 13 dny

    If you preheat the toaster then it will make the next piece of bread much darker. That’s why #4 is already burnt. And that’s why level #1 and level #2 are noticeably different although they stayed practically the same amount of time.

  • @TranscribeYT

    It'd be great to know if such a project, if well made and not for a nice markup, would be possible and be long-lasting. Sure they'd probably be a TAD larger for more technical components (temperature control etc) but for people who actually want an all in one solution ?
    The only problem I see is at a certain point it becomes more expensive and not worth it
