My toddler highly recommends the Nordicware popcorn bowl it doubles as a amazing hat.
😂😂😂
That is so cute❣️🥰
what was the blendjet 2 recall for
You buried the lead there! Which half is the hat?
I love checking out all the kitchen gadgets at Walmart when I go. Something about random kitchen utensils is so intriguing
My downfall is kitchen gadgets. If I didn’t live in a studio apartment, I’d have a lot more.
I have the mini sandwich maker and use it often. I always butter my bread instead of oiling the plates, works every time and it's easy to wipe clean. Would highly recommend it.
Yes bread needs buttering with the butter on the outside of the sandwich - no need to oil toaster plates then
@@flo6956 that's exactly what I do.
I have the waffle maker, it was next to the sandwich thing, it works great, and I can have a couple waffles in the morning in about 6 mins.
Yeah years ago they came from australia with long tongs to do it over the fire, and called jaffle irons. Then evolved to electric jaffle makers. We use a lot thinner bread and as has been said you always butter the outside. Then theres ,tuna, chopped onion and some cheese(bit longer cook) or my invention -banana,cheese and a dab of vegemite. Sounds weird but works. Its hard not to overstuff ..
@@EmeraldHill-vo1cs haha, I actually like Vegemite considering that I grew up in Australia (but I don't live there anymore).
I find the best microwave popcorn popper is a paper bag. Fast, easy, and I don't need to store an extra bowl that I can't use for anything else.
I've done brown paper bag popcorn and I agree that its fast and easy, but I'll just stick to stovetop popcorn. I'll even eat the popcorn right out of the pot.
@@matthewjbauer1990yeah, neither methods are difficult.
I tried plain brown bags about 5 times. The next time the bag caught on fire, scorching the inside of the microwave. I decided the bags in the supermarket have something special about them.
I have a collapsible silicone bowl that works well. I've used paper bags a couple of times, but I worry about folding the top so that it'll stay closed.
@@zyxw2000You need to use a good quality bag that almost feels like it's made of cardboard. I got some online and they have never faIled me.
Aww, Bailey's cute old gray face 🥰 By far the best co-host you could ever ask for.
She's not a co-host, she's the STAR!
The best companion and protector
She's adorable 😍🥰. I'm very fond of dogs.
I agree the Ninja appears to b a great product again I don't dig cleaning gadgets like this. No dishwasher. The salad spinner I bought has too many parts to clean I doubt if ill ever buy another.
I still think of her as a pup.
Bailey is the star of the show. She needs her own review channel.
I'd be interested in seeing a Freakin' Reviews Hall of Fame for products that not only tested well but held up after many months or years of use.
He's actually done this! You'll
have to look for the videos. He shoes both good and bad ones.
he’s made videos like that…just browse his channel
Bailey is too cute! I read that Ninja has new products coming out in 2024! They’re my favorite products for you to review.
Happy New Year everyone!!
I've had a ninja chopper for many, many years at this point. No complaints. Great product.
Same. I don’t even have a regular blender anymore, the chopper does it all
I will add a third here! Absolutely love it and beat it to hell and back. Ours is about 3 years old now and works like day one.
The Ninja chopper is almost identical to mine that I have had for at least 15 years, except mine also came with a larger container in addition to the smaller one (and storage lids). There are blades for both. I believe it was one of the first products Ninja ever made. It was very inexpensive and continues to work great and I use it almost weekly.
I agree! My set has 3 containers.
I also have the same set . It's over 10 yrs old and still chops just as good.
The mini sandwich maker is called a jaffle maker in Australia. It was invented here in 1949. I highly recommend using it with puff pastry and making dessert ones with Nutella and bananas.
I call it the George Foreman grill.
I had one when I went off to university (in Canada) in the early 90s that was a Snackmaster. This was pre-George Foreman
@@coal.sparks
Yes I remember the snackmaster! Same exact product as this “my mini.”
Plastic ice cubes are a must-have if you like your wine super cold! No ice to water down the wine! 😊 They are super easy to rinse off and store in a zip lock in the freezer.
How about "whiskey" stones? They're granite or such that you freeze. Same difference but no chemicals.
Frozen grapes.
@@nicks931 People really out here taking ice for granite
Grapes! Genious!!! 🍇
I absolutely hate watered down drinks, might look into those
I have had the Ninja Chopper for about three years now, and love it. It works so quickly, it’s easy to clean, works well for hard items, as well as for blending up soft items, such as cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and lemon, to make a dessert. Mine came with my Ninja 5 In One Grill. The sandwich maker, while it made the bread a bit too flattened, it worked quickly, evenly toasted the bread, and the cheese was nicely melted. The most impressive thing about it was that you did not need to spread butter or even mayonnaise on the bread beforehand. Yet, the sandwich came out looking very appealing. The popcorn bowl was a hit for me…efficient and mess free. Those chopping boards are not worthwhile. I bought them once, and soon enough they started to get cracks, stained greatly, especially in the cut marks, and for chopping extra hard foods such as carrots, they were not the greatest. As compared to a decent wooden board, the food tended to roll around too much while chopping. The bacon cooking rack was a bit of a waste of money, I feel. It made a good mess, and took a bit too long to cook the bacon. It is easier to just lay bacon strips down on a piece of parchment paper, on a tray, and either cook it in the microwave or oven. To prevent added mess, cover the top with another piece of parchment paper. Also, I could see it being just another item taken up needed space in a cupboard. Your microwave is powerful, so I did expect it to cook a bit faster. It looks like your local Walmart is very well stocked with reasonably priced items to choose from. Thanks for reviewing these items. 😊
I have the Ninja blender you talked about in this video and it’s great! I use it 6-7 days a week. At using it twice a day (including cleaning), I only need to charge it about once a week. I didn’t like the BlendJet, but this one by Ninja is a keeper ♥️
Totally agree. I had a cat that was very sick and I needed to blend her food and I even stuck cooked chicken breast in the ninja added some water and it was just amazing how it puréed it.
Charge it once a week? The one in the video isn't a cordless chopper. It's a wired device.
@@garryleerobThey’re talking about the blender mentioned at the start of the video in the deals & duds section.
Don't know if I wrote this but my best method of salting popcorn is to put a little bit of cooking oil (1/10 of regular cup maybe) and salt (like half of the small spoon) into a regular plastic shopping bag and put popcorn in the bag and tumble it in this bag for a minute. Perfectly salted popcorn. Greetings from Poland. You might do some experiments with proportions yourself.
Thank you. Grinding the salt finer also helps
@NyanyiC yes. Thank you, and you're welcome :)
I love these multi store purchase videos!
Ninja Chopper amazing I got mine years ago it came with 2 containers so you could lift blade out leave chopped veg in container in fridge and put blade in next container.
For folk with hand dexterity issues I can highly recommend it is, a little workhorse
I have a sandwich maker, we use it for grilled cheese, pizza pocket sandwiches, pancakes, cake batter, biscuit dough and much more. I must mention the sandwich maker I have was made in the 80's and still works just fine. I had the cutting mats and after about a week of use it was so cut up it was useless and had to be thrown out.
I am the type of person that doesn't buy anything new unless the old one breaks. I have the same chopper/food processor I have had to almost 20 years. I had a thick plastic cutting board I bought in the early 90's Last year my nephew came to stay with us for a few weeks, I have a gas stove.. he set my cutting board on top of a hot burner and my cutting board become part of my stove top. It melted enough to sink down onto the burner and fused with it. I had to have my son take it out side and heat it with a cutting torch to get it off. I was upset about losing my cutting board but I got a nice new one for Christmas from my Nephew.
Thank you for showing Bailey! The bacon cooker is a no go because I don’t want grease on my microwave. The cutting mats, however, look good, especially for $5.00. I’m on my way to Walmart for a chopper!
I’d like to see dollar tree gadgets. I always wonder which ones actually work and are worth the post taxed dollar
If you want to see Dollar tree gadgets reviewed then you would want to check out a channel called Vivian tries
@Ashas.Garden
I agree Vivian Tries and as a bonus she is really funny .
Pound stores opened in the UK a couple of decades ago. With inflation, it is hard to find anything that works these days for a pound. You can also find products that cost 45p in Tesco's.
A few of the better shops have introduced 2 and 3 pound areas, but by rounding the price, they are not necessarily cheaper.
@@wilsjane Tesco's what? If it's a plural, you don't use an apostrophe.
@@englishatheart Us engineers have no problem with our scientific and mathematical terms, but when it comes to everyday English, we always manage to get something wrong.
The rules can be a bit confusing, because I probably had my single local shop in mind, which is singular not plural.
No wonder people from other countries have trouble learning English, which can also have regional variations.
Here in London, we make our beds in the morning, while in other areas they dress them. We also make a cup of tea, while they wet it. Both or those examples are most obvious in Ireland.
I agree that chopper was pretty awesome. I think that is going on my birthday wishlist lol. I was wondering about those ice cubes. They definitely need some serious washing before I would stick them in my drink but might work good for coolers or ice packs.
We have been using those flexible cutting boards for years. They hold up great. Even the really old slippery ones were durable, but the new ones with grip are fantastic
Happy New year to you!!! 🎉. Love your channel!!! Bailey yes more Bailey!!!
All of these items feel like a flashback episode, Haha.
My friends mom was using an equivalent to those reusable ice cubes 20 years ago. I think they mostly just used them in school lunches though, worked great for that.
They'd be good if you want to chill a drink without diluting it with water.
@@Bobrogers99 There's also fancier reusable ice cubes that beer / wine / spirit aficianados use that I think are made out of glass.
@@charlieschuder9976 You can get whiskey stones that are cut from actual stone and also stainless steel cubes. They don't all use water, many are solid.
@@3rdEyeWide I'm thinking the glass ones were solid glass, as well. They'd probably shatter if they were filled with water, but yeah, the stainless ones seemed pretty nifty, too. Dig the username, BTW.
I don't cook bacon in the microwave any more, but the best method I found was just to lay your bacon out in a plate and cover, cook on high for about three minutes. If it cooks laying down, it fries in it's own fat. All these gadgets, or cooking on paper towels, separate the fat out. The reason bacon tastes better in the pan is because you're cooking it in hot fat.
So just use a plate!
I use a Foreman grill to cook bacon
A lot of people have an air fryer. Why not just use that for bacon?
@@PlasmaOne Well, I don't cook bacon in the microwave any more, as I said. The air fryer or toaster oven or regular oven is much better, but that's 20-25 minutes. Microwave bacon takes three. That's why not.
I love the chopping mats and a plus they don't take up room in my very tiny kitchen. Easy to clean and last really well.
I’ve been needing a new food processor and honestly for the price, that thing looks pretty dang good!
It's a lot smaller than a food processor
@@babarsuhail5678 not smaller than my food processor!
Love that chopper.. With non stick frying pans they all work great while relatively new, its all about how long the non stick lasts over an extended period of time
I love my Ninja chopper - I was as surprised as you at the efficiency of this little guy. No need to pull out my Blendtec for little quantities any longer! :)
I have so many uses for those cutting mats, I make quilt patterns out of them, scrapers, sorting tools etc.
Love the cutting mats!. So easy to use.
I've had a set of the chopping mats for years and I love them.
Aww Bailey and her distinguished grey face. She’s the Star.
Seeing them reusable ice cubes remind me of bubble wrap just with water instead of air inside, makes me want to pop them. Lol
I got some moulds for ice shot glasses with a bottle of liquor a few years back. Extremely satisfying to smash, especially in front of guests who didn't realize they were made of ice. lol Worked really well, too; might have to get another one. I let a friend borrow mine and it "disappeared."
That would be fun to watch. Hello tik tok!
I LIKE THE IDEA OF MY DRINK NOT GETTING WATERED DOWN.
I've used the flex mats for slicin and dicin for over a decade. Love em.
I’d love to see you do these at like Target or Costco, I feel like you’d find more overpriced things there and I’m interested in seeing the difference
Yeah, the ninja chopper looked very impressive.
That chopper, for sure, is going to be on my counter.
the reusable ice cubes killed me 🤣
You can't go wrong with that Ninja. Its a workhorse and not much investment. I have been using mine for about 10 years. Your reviews are great 👍
Nothing can touch the WowBacon okay? That is THE mac daddy of microwave bacon gadgets. It actually cooks it in 4 minutes, no splatter, easy grease collection if you want to save it and easy disposal if you don't. And yea that chopper is a buy, mine was cheap and works just as well, but that one has WAY more room.
Loving this new series James!
Putting a kitchen towel folded under the chopper helps with the noise.👍
The man makes dinner and money at the same time? He is clearly a genius.
That Ninja chopper looks the same as the one we have. Though that also included a large 4L pitcher with chopping blades. We received it as a wedding gift in 2011 and I use it as a blender and fine chopper multiple times a week. It's great for onions when you want them finely diced and recently used it to basically ground up cooked turkey and sausages.
Just have to be careful not to tiny onions into onion puree with it!
Ive been impressed how well the plastic has held up. Mine still look brand new and crystal clear after almost a decade of regular use. And the design is simple enough that I never second guess using it based on having to clean it.
The cutting mats are great. I've been using mine for at least 3yrs. They are marred but I haven't cut through any of them. They don't slip, easy to wash, you can fold/curl them, lightweight , & cost effective
That ninja is like the older model I have with motor on top and interchangeable containers and blades. I love mine
Those cutting mats are great! They're flexible enough to easily wash, can go in the dishwasher, and can also be used as a shelf liner for the ClosetMaid/Elfa type shelves.
I bought a Beautiful air fryer for $30, because my old one croked. I was pleasantly surprised. Would love to see a comparison of cheap air fryers under$50.
Always enjoy your videos. Happy New Year.
I love Ninja Products, too!!!
Happy New Year, James!!!
Happy new year James freaking White! 😂 Fun vid
That chopper is amazing!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to more next year!!
i love my spicy shelf deluxe..had it for years, couldn’t do without it
Loosely tenting the bacon one with some foil works great for preventing the splatter!
Foil in the microwave?
Those bottles are amazing! Got one for Christmas an I love it!
Thanks for checking out all these, love your videos. Keep up the good work. Great cutting boards.
My first set of plastic cutting boards probably lasted about 15 years before they were too scratched up to clean thoroughly so they got repurposed into the potting shed. The replacements have held up well now for four or five years. Mostly cooking for one, I found it useful to cut a couple of them in half since I don't always need such a big surface and the half-size is very convenient and easier to clean and dry.
I have those cutting boards and I really like them especially for cutting veggies on one and chicken on another to keep them separate. I’ve had them since August and I use really sharp knives on them. They’ve held up nicely and clean easily too. Also use them a lot to make avocado toast on❤
Wow the Ninja express chopper is amazing! Def picking one of those up
Wow it’s half the price at Target $19.99 compared to Amazon $39
That style of sandwich maker is always good with as simple as it is. Toss one cheese on the bottom, some deli meat of choice in the middle and a second cheese on top between your slices of bread and you got a nice hot sandwich to go with tomato soup.
That igloo natural ice, I think I'd save it for the cold compress and coolers, personally. Using them as full sheets at that.
I feel like Ninja is by far the best counter top appliance manufacturer. All of their products just seem to work extremely well. I used Keurigs for years and the coffee was always decent but the machine would die within a year or two. Bought a Ninja and the coffee tastes better, it's lasted longer (with no issues whatsoever), and it has more features. I also have their 5 in 1 counter top grill/air fryer and it's amazing. I use it all the time because it's so versatile and easy to clean.
Definitely my go to for appliances!
What's easier is to put bacon on a paper towel that is on a plate and then cover the bacon with either a microwave splash lid or just with another paper towel. That's way cheaper and leaves no mess for the microwave and about 2-3 minutes for a 1,000 watt microwave for about 8 strips is just fine to make them fully crispy cooked and not burnt. So these gadgets i.m.o. aren't worth the money since they only do one thing and the bacon has to be folded over and it's obviously cooked in a folded over way.
Agreed. That’s all we ever do and it always comes out great with no splatter mess and less grease left on the bacon. Glass plate, paper towel, strips of bacon, cover with another paper towel, and our microwave is perfect at one minute per slice.
Love LOVE my Ninja chopper. Had mine now for about 3 months. Great for chopping nuts really fine, like pecans. Even chicken.
It's just a perfect food chopper.
Silicone chopping mats are super great.
We've used those cutting mats for years. They are very useful
We really like the cutting mats. Yes, you can cut through them if you have sharp knives and are cutting something that requires a lot of pressure. The ones we use, are dishwasher safe, (maybe they all are) so we don't care what color we use for what. At that price point, replacing them is no big deal.
I have always done 1 minute per slice of bacon that I cook in the microwave. So like 6 pieces of bacon I would put in for 6 minutes and start to watch at like 5 1/2 minutes to check. Some microwaves will be done at 5 and 1/2 minutes, some at 6 minutes and some need a little more. If I had the choice of the microwave or a pan, it would be a pan or flat top griddle. @13:35 Based on the testing you did on this chopper, I have decided to go to Walmart tomorrow and buy one. Thanks!! For $22, you can not beat that! It seems that most if not all the products that you have tested from Ninja in the past couple years have all been very well made and the performance they claim is what you get!
The Ninja chopper is my go to for chicken tacos. It's so easy to boil chicken breast chunks, chop, and return to pan to season. I liked it so much I bought a spare.
I have had the Ninja Chopper for years. I love it today as much as I did when I received it. The blades are still just as sharp. I do handwash the blade.
I use the igloo ice, one sheet I left whole, one sheet cut into cubes. They work great in my mini fridge small freezer section.
I've had the flexible cutting boards before and they are very good. I also have an ice thing similar to the one in the review, I use mine to help cool off leftovers before putting them in the fridge. And I think you sold me on getting that Ninja chopper.
The ice cubes are great for an ice pack (the old fashioned kind with the screw off cap) it keeps the pack cold and doesn’t sweat.
The NordicWare popcorn bowl is made here where I live (well, in the twin city). Their HQ and factory are in Minneapolis/St. Louis Park. They even have a retail outlet next the HQ.
The Mini Sandwich maker there that does the triangles we call a Jaffle Maker in Australia. Very popular here, moreso than the standard grilled cheese on a flat grill type of sandwich press.
I used an earlier version of the Nordic Ware popcorn bowl for years and it is great but I found a WW healthy kitchen silicone bowl at Burlington store for $1.99 & its now my favorite.
Works great , folds up to a smaller size & no silicone taste to popcorn. Most silicone things I've tried in past leave a weird taste for me (ice trays etc) making me discontinue use but not my popcorn bowl. Love it
Love the cutting matts
I have some flexible cutting mats that I need to replace. So thanks for the review on those!
The Igloo Natural Ice looks like it could be a choking hazard if they're cut individually.
That ninja chopper I got free with they neverstick pan. I have become a big fan of ninja products in my kitchen. Might pick up their knife set soon.
I bought the cutting mats from Wal Mart in 2005, different shades-same colors, and we still use them at least 3 times a week.
I wonder if a fly net for picnics would work for splatter with the bacon. The umbrella style.🤷♀️
I bought a Ninja inversion blender/mixer system, I bought the chopper accessory separately to use with. I believe it was 40 bucks which is somewhat expensive, but it works just like the standalone chopper you tested. I use the chopper to pulverize veggies usually to make homemade tomato/marinara sauce or soups. It so quick I can make things in small batches and then combine them to make one big batch.
I like the cutting mats to protect my butchers block. Im also a fan of ninja - I think it says 15 secs max because that little motor can overheat quickly. I have a ninja product that already covers that task but could see it might be useful for some who dont want to swap over attachments all the time.
Of course you're gonna pick up that microwave doughnut maker. Can't wait for the review! Happy new year!
If you'll notice, your microwave has a POPCORN button and that is the best way to cook it.
Most good microwaves have a sensor to ensure perfectly popped popcorn..
I got that Ninja chopper for free with my purchase of my 7 in 1 Foodi Grill (which I love) and it is very efficient. So efficient that I usually just chop by hand because it completely pulverizes anything you put in there. Cool if you want to make like cilantro or minced garlic or something though.
My sister has had that mini chopper for YEARS! It is still going strong and she still uses it regularly
We had those sandwich makers in the 1980's, same design, function, and lack of features. They've always been good.
The only draw back with the popcorn popper is the condensation accumulated on the lid. When the water drips down onto the popped corn, it becomes wet, soggy and awful. This is good for those who need to stay away from oils, but for me I will always prefer it cooked in coconut oil in a real popcorn popper.
I love the single slice toaster they have and the Thyme and Table Pots and pans. Best I have ever had on induction cooking.
I've had the cutting mats for about 5 years and still going strong 😊
After 3 years of use of those mats I still use them everyday. They do curl some in the dishwasher and the bottom of the yellow one is discolored but I swear by these.
As a niece of a chef you are supposed to remove the seeds from peppers before you eat them and wash the inside n outside of the peppers. 😊 The cutting mats for 5 bucks have been around for years. I love them.lve used them for years. I keep one on my counter at all times. Love your reviews. Paper towels and a paper bag make the best bacon maker. 1 min per piece of bacon. Easy clean up. Open the paper bag ,line with 2 sheets of paper towel, then make layers 3 slices to one layer with 2 sheets of paper towels. In between. Then turn the ends of the paper bag over tape with kitchen masking tape. Put in microwave. Let sit 2mins before removing. No mess in the microwave. Cut the bag open, remove bacon. Yum BLTS.
I just use a plate (microwave allowable or a few paper plates - never metal or styrofoam!) and put the bacon slices on top. Use scissors or a knife if the bacon is too big.
Put a paper towel or two on top. Cook 2 minutes. The paper towel keeps the splatter down. If the bacon isn’t crispy enough, add minute. Do that again if you still need it crispier. You can exchange the paper towel for a fresh one between batch cooking. The bacon slices are great this way!
I use those cutting mats and I have had them for years. They hold up in the dishwasher too
I bought a set of those cutting mats years ago. They are great and the price is even better. Plus they take up almost no space for storage.
