Don’t get why NVIDIA hasn’t just changed that connector yet it just going to continue to be a problem, it’s just too small of a connector to be pulling that much power IMHO.
They have changed the connector on new batches of cards. They have the 12v2x6 connector, which so far doesn't seem to have melting cases. This has nothing to do with the connectors being too small.
This is exactly why I am considering AMD for the first time. I just cannot justify top dollar on melting connectors.
nVIDIA wanted to be 'different' from everyone else.
And now, that has bitten them in the ass. Did they forget about KISS?
@@lycanthoss yes it does have something to do with their connector being too small, u can't expect alot of resistance to handle on a single small 16 pin power connector
cattle hivemind is real with this one. you really dont see that nvidia added those just for planned obsolescence? This much power needs to be pushed through 2x4 or 3x4 pin, not through those tiny fucking needles, the overall resistance of this connector is just garbage and they thought they couid get away with it. Sadly, they still do, nobody holds those corporations accountable anymore
"Now you stuck with me" Love it, had a good giggle.
11:50 4090's second hand market gonna be wild when people start reselling these card for future gen - the early card with 1st iteration of 16pin will surely get to those who didn't really get what a fuzz of flaw the cable was (assuming the reseller include it without disclosing it)
thank fuck for amd sticking too the reg 8pin.
@@DementedLessons AMD kinda had to. Their cards architecture is designed to keep clocking higher tell they hit power limit I had a 7900xtx with a 430w budget and it ate it all tell it hit power limit of the card and this is without OCing and just maxing the power slider. The 16pin on them will have the 4090 issue a 100% of the cards sold if you think about it lol. Remember the 4090 isn't pulling 600w all the time. This connector is just not rated for even 400w+. My 4080super pulls 270w all I'm sure is within the true spec of this single 16pin connector. Which should be ~(300w)
that will work in nvidia favor. that's mean people will avoid those card but they really want something comparable to 4090 they will have no choice but to get brand new 50 series.
😂
nVidia 100% pushed that connector, to directly-address their 'competition' from their own Used products...
If Apple says emulators are okay, that means it should also be okay to have an iOS emulator for the old games iPhones don't support anymore.
BACK UP VOICE WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A multiton stainless steel covered vehicle and instead of using stainless steel screws or brackets they chose to use glue
A marvel of modern engineering clearly
Love Reece’s voice over. Great job, Catlin! Feel better Reece!

@@soiltek2015 You dont say !!
Yeah, I'll be holding on to my 3080 Ti until at least the 5000 or even 6000 series. Maybe then they'll have the 12pin connector fixed by then. I don't feel like having a fire in my PC or house.
10:45 holy crap, that is horrifying in a vehicle that fast, and with no key or button to be able to shut it down asap.
And big. Remember, if it's ever in an argument with another car, it will win. (Elon musk actually said this)
Yeah its bad enough that my foot pad can slide up over the peddles because i don't have the original pads with the hooks, and thats on a cheap 10000 dollar car.
It's not just 4090s cables that are melting. I have a 3090 (MSI Suprim X, arguably one of the top premium models) and I had to change my PCI-E power cable two times now (first time 2 years ago and 2nd time a few months ago). Suddenly my monitors went black and I could smell burnt plastic. Thank god the GPU and other components were fine and they still run fine after putting in new PCI-E cables. The problem with Nvidia's high end cards in the last few years is that they are now purposefully pushing them to the limits so that they come on top of everything else which, predictably, results in things like intermittent short peaks of 600W and more. This overwhelms the cables' capacity and they start melting. Nvidia should really rethink their desire to constantly push more and more watts with their high-end GPUs. Maybe when someone's home burns down they will change things?
because that's the only way to get more performance: more power. and this issue actually not exclusive to nvidia only. AMD RX6000 for example despite more power efficient than nvidia 30 series their sudden power peak actually worse than those 30 series.
@@arenzricodexd4409 ah the more performance requires more power club. not exactly the case.
@@CotyRiddle we are nearing the limit what we can do with die shrink. things like chiplet while help chip maker to work around die size limitation the trade off is power usage will be more higher than monolithic of the same size.
Execs NEVER get fired. They are usually requested to leave by choice :)
Did a big chuckle for "Part 17,"
I knew connectors was still gonna be issue. No one is talking about the connection being loose whether it plugged in all the way or not
As an electrician I see this every week cause manufacturers think it is ok to jab a wire into a spring
I hope that you guys know that most comment section criticism and debate is meant to be constructive or innocuously rhetorical. You do an excellent job of presenting the news we are interested in and we appreciate you for it.
NAS video with a in depth breakdown would be kinda cool i cant lie! Love my brettfast
Problem with linux is that if there is a problem, you look it up and if something doesn't work for you, asking for help gives you "git good" attitude a lot of time with a lot of console commands and it's scary as hell for casuals. Especially if you screw something up with display drivers and after reboot you're locked out in the terminal and don't know what to do.
r/linux_questions is a great resource if you need help. Btw, 'startx' will usually work to start your GUI back up once you are logged in.
I've been stuck with windows pc's that "just break" about 100 more times than on linux computers. Also AMD drivers are amazing on linux and don't need proprietary locked down driver installations.
sadly this is true. Its quite toxic.
My favorite part of hot news is when you try to defend yourself from pedantic jackels
More Tuxedo/PopOS vibes, volume down on the Arch dorks, is the key to wider adoption. Still an uphill battle, on ice-skates.
Here's to Reese's quick recovery. ❤❤
Linux isn't quite ready for prime time yet. Wayland is the default display server for linux nowadays and it is only just getting to the point of being usable on nvidia cards. Desktop linux isn't ready for mainstream and it will likely never be mainstream. It is a compelling option for those tech savy individuals who want to deep dive into how their PC works along with being an option for those who are concerned about privacy and security. Perhaps linux's biggest downfall is the fragmentation of distributions. It makes developing for it a pain as there is no single target and most of the time, the targets are constantly moving.
Reece alt voice rounded the prices. I like it
"Physisics" had me choking on my oatmeal. Sounds like something I'd say.
Yes we miss our YUMMY YUMMY DEAL MASTER.
Come back Reece Baja Blast compels you.
Haven't heard of Transsion either and that was an amazing deals segment. I liked the music.
I think Linux’ main issue is the usability of it. If you could install a majority of things as easily as you can on windows (download, open executable, install, done) I think adoption would be much much greater than it is. A lot of people have no patience for using terminal commands to do installs and updates.
Exactly.
100% agree
4090 Connector: This has been my experience and the lackluster data that came with it. I'm using the ASUS Strix 4090 and have been using it since December of 2022 and started running it on a 9900K and ASUS Z390 Formula
> I bought the card and used a Corsair HX1200i and the Nvidia adapter which was the 4 x 8 pin to 12+4 and worked fine and no overclock and no O.C. software (I mean what's the point since it's all based on temp anyhow. I mean Jay is right, O.C. is kind of dead)
> Then I bought the Corsair 2 x 8 pin to 12+4 and I could barely get an image on my screen (well, I mean I didn't get an image until I got into windows) and when I got into a match in MW2, and after 2 minutes the screen would go black. No way to get the screen back until I restarted the PC.
> Reinstalled the Nvidia adapter and everything when back to normal.
> I then bought the Cable Mod 4 x 8 pin to 12+4 and it worked perfectly for a little over a year until I built a new PC on New Years Eve. So, from 12/03/2022 to 12/31/2023
> I built a new PC (which I left a comment about it in the 14900K dying and left feedback on my experience) which is the 14900K on an ASUS Z790 Dark Hero, Corsair Vengeance DDR 5 @ 6400 MHz and BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 13 1300W PSU. When I took the 4090 out of the older PC to transfer it over and inspected the connector it was all good, no melting also never O.C. and G-Sync always locked to 240 MHz frequency of the monitor. To this day as of now it's all good "so far" "Knocks on Wood". Hopefully after I post this, I don't get any funny business.
I know things can go south at any time and the bad experiences can still happen. I'm just not running my PC as hard as it can be pushed. But my experience is ok as for how fast it is at stock-ish speeds.
Side note: I also use a UPS 1500VA Sinewave and I keep the power monitored at all times and the power to my house is very stable at 120V AC (-5V fluctuation) and the UPS does its job when the power does go out which is about a few times a year. I don't know if that has something to do with some people having dirty power at their house or a lot of power outages and/or no protection but it's something no one talks about or if their using a bad power supply or an underpowered PSU or even a "GOOD ENOUGHT" PSU. I have always overpowered my PCs since 2008 and on a Core 2 Duo, I was using a Cooler Master 850w 80 plus PSU (total overkill), but that PC also lasted 10+ years and the PSU lasted 13+ years. Hell, right now I'm using a Corsair AX 860i on this 4790K + RTX 2080 typing this comment and watching this video. I do like when a PC can last a decade as a daily usage machine.
Agreed. I have always used higher rated PSU’s than needed, and have never had any power related issues.
UFD Deals: Digging the backup voice for Reace!! LOL ASMR moment... Hope your voice comes back bruh!!!
If they did go with dual 12VHPWR connections, it defeats the supposed purpose of 12VHPWR in the first place. That will be hilarious if that's their solution. Especially since they could have just been more realistic about the sensing specification with the old standard and three 8-pins would FAR exceed the capability of even two 12VHPWR connections, and at worst, take up a similar amount of space. NVIDIA just needs to ditch Micro-Fit and go back to Mini-Fit, or maybe they could try Micro-Fit+ like what Corsair is using on their newer power supplies, which they claim would not have these issues.
And EVGA coming back as an Intel partner... YES PLEASE!
if intel can guarantee EVGA that they able to sell their Arc in the same volume as nvidia discrete GPU maybe EVGA will agree.
@@arenzricodexd4409 EVGA isn't in the same position that they used to be in when they were an NVIDIA partner. The company is a shell of its former self. I really don't think volume is an issue at all.
🙏
The Nvidia thing happened way back when they wanted the connector at 90° to the board and wanted it smaller. If they made this connector using the old size of pins it wouldn't be an issue at all. They could even lose 2 of the power pins. As for keying and accidental plug ins. They could have made a custom key, they already had to do new molds because of the added "sense/ID" pins. This is just such a fail honestly. I'm not even tempted to buy a reference card above $700 so it's not an issue for me. 4070Ti Super is the last card that makes fiscal sense anyway.
We love backup voice,
Get well soon Reece
Well when samsung offered me a free (minus taxes of course) upgrade to an s24+ I took them up. I wasn't going to as my s21+ was still perfect. I'm a little disappointed that neither the cameras or speed feels noticeable.
That Silverstone case looks really nice, I wish it had one more drive bay though for a 3x3 ZFS Z1 array.
This really comes down to how you define the *least* Apple could do.
If you're talking about the least they could get away with _right now,_ then you're right, they could be doing less. But if you're talking about the least they could get away with _long term_ (so that someone doesn't _force_ them to do more in the future), then this is the _exact_ amount they're doing.
Transient's brands are popular in Adrica and Asia (yes, including India). They make really good cheap phones (not Itel tho) with a ton of bloatware. They're worth taking a look at if you get a chance.
This year is the 20th anniversary of Baja Blast, so Pepsi is coming out with a bunch of limited "Baja" edition flavors. Laguna Lemonade and Point Break Punch are already out
As an IT person and a long time Linux user I agree with what you've said about Linux still not being ready for the average person. The people preaching that everyone should use Linux either only use it to run non DRM steam games and browse web or are deliberately ignoring the issues that exist. To name some issues IMEs on Wayland are a total clustertruck so good luck inputting especially asian languages in wayland native programs(hyprland, sway don't work at all while plasma is buggy and sometimes work and sometimes don't) but under xwayland it works fine as does on native Xorg. Accessibility settings under wayland are work in progress while many distros have switched to Wayland as the default display server so good luck using it for anyone with a disability. If you switch back to Xorg you can get decent accessibility tools like screen readers, magnifying etc. but I'm not sure if it covers as much as for example Windows' accessibility options do. Nvidia drivers for any card older than 16 series will likely make you pull your hair out since they're only supported by proprietary driver and it has always had bad desktop experience(I used to use gtx1060 so i know what I'm talking about). And many many more issues. I'd love to see Linux being more widely used as well but while it generally works there's still too many things that aren't polished so I'm not gonna push people to switch. If I were to suggest a distro for non tech people it would probably be OpenSUSE because they really try hard to polish the experience and have the Yast tool for configuring the system through GUI but it's still not for everyone.
The connector for 50 series needs to change to some more sturdy.
The only issue with Linux is the GPU driver situation full stop.
I use Linux and haven't used Windows as main driver for 5 years. It depend on what you need. You have to remember Linux is the kernel what on top is down to the user. Gnome on a large touch screen is just like android and I run waydroid and G micro and use Android desktop apps too on my PC.
PC Gamers don't always seem to like Ray Tracing. I don't think PS5 players will either. They would rather have higher resolution and frames. So the PSSR part makes sense. Its not that RT is bad, its some devs don't make it noticeable enough or just plain to big of a hit for lower end PC users.
@@BrunodeSouzaLino I agree. I still want my next GPU to be an RT GPU. I have a 6700xt playing on 3440*1440. Aiming for a 4070ti SUPER or 4080 SUPER. I won't pay no more than $600 for an AMD with its lack of RT in the games I want it in anyway. I don't think RT is a gimmick when you can see it. Its just some Devs do it better or take more time with it. Though to be fair. Game like Devil May Cry was weak in the RT department. They just threw puddles everywhere and said "hey, look at the RT". Sh*t was weak as hell. I wish and thought more games would be like Cyberpunk. Which is more the reason why I want RT and Alan Wake of course.
Tesla needs to do the 25k cheap Tesla. Even if it has half a battery pack and you can buy the bigger pack later. Smartest move would be to make the current pack with a hollow middle section. Then lower the pack a little and have a mid-pack slide in. Not sure if it would be worth it over a half-full pack and swap the complete thing. But if they did it properly internally they should be able to pop open 2 half packs and make a full pack to sell as refurbished. They really don't care, they want to be Mercedes, not Kia. But a little hatchback Tesla with a small motor and FWD would be perfect, they could probably do another deal with Toyota for a Corolla EV (Last time was the RAV4 EV that Tesla put a motor in for them). Or spawn another low end brand (Nikko or Kola?)
I wanna see your NAS build! 🤖🎬
Many auto manufacturers are laying off this year and not just Tesla.
I wish linux just worked with everything out of the box...
Like, it should WINE everything that can't run natively... like how mac does rosetta. Most users dont even know the difference between apple silicon and intel, they just know it's faster.
Well, here’s the deal a class action suit needs to happen against Nvidia for their bad connectors. I own a 4090 I have a heat gun beside it and taking constant reading. I am averaging 48 to 50° pretty standard as soon as I put any work load on at the point of connection, I got a tiny bit lower and I’m fine. I got a tiny bit higher of that connection and I’m fine it’s right at the connection point. That’s my hotspot and trust me. I watched like a hawk
That voice that replace reese was a lot nicer
It might be a good idea to release a cut down RTX 4090 to the open market. The RTX 4090 Rotten Apple edition.
Brett host looking good this morning.
I haven't seen Baja Blast in bottles. Well, if you count the bottles that may as well be cans then ok; but to me the only bottle that matters is the two liter.
I have. Krogers have them sometimes and Wallfart.....
@@CotyRiddle you've seen two liter bottles of baja? I only ever see single serve stuff. I did manage to get the summer of baja flavors in 12 packs a couple days ago tho!
If you have a 4090 the best thing is to have a vertical gpu mount and a good cable, preferably without the sense cables.
or say screw the warrenty and hard wire the fucker.
There are off the shelf crimp connectors that are rated to handle this kind of power why aren't they just using one of those?
I do wish nvidia just recalled all the 4090s that people have bought so that I could feel safe using mine lol.
Would prefer going back to 8pin or a complete new design that is just as robust as 8pin.
i prefer 8pin because it wasn't a problem with 8pin
@@blakedmc1989RaveHD It's just a more robust connector style, I'm never worried about the weight of the cable damaging the connector like I am with the 16 pin, they snap in better, they take side load much better. I specifically remember seeing PC builds where people used the 8pin power cables to help prevent GPU sag, no one will recommend that with a 4090 lol. Also I just have to say, as a long time purchaser of Nividia and gigabyte GPUs if AMD had a direct 4K competitor for the 4090, I would switch tomorrow, solely because of the power connector.
@@McLongSausage my thing is if Radeon has a stable encoder which matches Nvenc, i'd move away from Nvidia for good
👏
Reece's, this is why i used that song from cyberpunk. You are becoming more AI every day after you went back. What did they do to you?
Whats up with Reece?
Love that connector burning up the GPUs. Keep it up! Buy moar geepeeyouz.
Wait, you are telling me that guy is getting about 9 4090s to repair DAILY?! A single repair store? There people around his store location must have bought half of the 4090 supply in the world.
Or if it gets 4090s shipped from all the country, it still makes doubt of the veracity of this claim, given that the 4090 is not such a common card due to its price, even if there is a common issue I doubt thebamount of 4090s coming in daily would be higher than all of the other cards combined. And taking into account the time it takes to fix most cards, and assuming at least 18 cards per day (plus other work not related to GPUs), either that is a very big and popular shop or this is bullshit.
4090s are *the* card for both people with more $ than Brains, and those that use their GPU for profit/profession. Whether real or imagined, 4090 customers "don't have a choice".
Those kinds of people neither make up the majority of 'the community', nor do they 'speak and participate' in the same spaces as the rest of the community.
Not to mention, the 4090 is one of the few cards that's actually 'worth' getting repaired.
nVidia is selling a *lot* of 4090s, we 'plebeians' merely cannot see it.
Funny and Nvidia still mandating that fireprone of a connector...the 8-pin connectors can feed 600watt power using 3x 8-pin
EPS 8-pin is 300W rated (each). Many Tesla, etc. "Pro/AI/MI" cards already were using it.
Fun Fact: 8-pin PCI-e only specifies 3x +12V. 6-pin, 2x +12V.
So, the PCIe 6-pin is current-carrying equivalent to 4-pin +12V CPU; the PCIe 8-pin is 1.5x of the 4-pin +12V CPU.
EPS 8-pin is 4x +12V, 300W rated (with more 'safety' overhead)
@@LRK-GT Good to know :) cheers brother. Reason why i prefer the 8-oin connectors as they been around for years and never missed a beat. That 12V connector is niche and asking for trouble, more people are still having issues with and Northbridge repair guy on CZcams says not user error its more of a design flaw.
Got my GF a macbook because of ARM architecture and build quality (she's non techy, but loves it) . Not so much the OS itself even though Unix >> Windows. I use many OS's on many types of hardware, and there is a use case for all of them.
SO GLAD I BOUGHT 4070 DUAL - 2 8PINS
All of my retro video games are on SD cards.
Every melted 4090 had a bios with a power limit over 530W. Do not flash your card to anything higher than that. Period. Another problem is massive power spikes. I've seen them with my SPrim X 4080 during benmarking in 3DMark. HUGE Spikes.
Nice modern-ass build from silverstone😂
I don't want to see mainstream adoption of Linux. More is good, but the ability to install an OS (not hard of course but with potential consequences) is actually a pretty good proxy for the ability to use the Linux desktop effectively.
Linux can be great out the box, say Ubuntu, and some companies do ship it as an option. But Linux for desktops is still far from user friendly for the vast majority of average users. If I gave a computer with Linux on it to my parents or grandparents they would have no idea how to use it, troubleshoot it, ect. I could give them a windows pc or even a Mac and they can figure it out fairly quickly. Linux Geeks don't think about non-computer folks, what is simple to them is not simple to others.
Tesla outsourcing american production to india, classical.
i think with apple, its a inbetween situation
there are talented people at apple for sure, that are doing really great industry leading work that's being leveraged effectively for sure
vs a corporate culture of walled gardens, profit and mindset enclosing that is constantly against consumer rights, right to repair rights that government bodies had to step in legislatively and through lawsuits to get them to slowly act in accordance (not to mention the years of lobbying against measures funded by them)
if it gets to that level, i dont really have sympathy to the higher ups that make these decisions, the talented people aren't on the same decision making level to that, they can only do so much
theres browbeating or being unfair and then theres not willing to be screwed over for a companies sake and voicing that
also macos gaining in market share is like a no duh situation
m1 macbook for 650$??
the mac minis being super affordable and have way less compromises out of the box at its pricepoint is like actually great (yes yes 8gb of ram but general use doesn't take that much to run youtube and word processing)
That's why I switched to AMD Radeon 7900 xtx
I'm still pleased with my rx 6800 @ 1440p to see a 2000 plus dollar nvidia gpu still having problems is laughable considering I paid less than that for my entire system.
The 12 pin connector is just shit
I hope that silverstone PSU Cables don't melt, because that would be bad
I am happy to purchase RTX 4070Ti Super.
Linux is not ready for mainstream adoption, I tried switching if at any time using an OS you need to use console commands it is now outside the realm of usability of 90% of PC users. Its gets to be a hassle.
I'm 50+ years old my first computer was a Commadore 64 I gave up on knowing and learning console commands a long time ago. Until a Linux distro figures out a pure GUI interface it will never become mainstream.
Breakfast Im At Work Busting My Ass 💀
The main reason I have seen people buying apple is 1)Status 2) optimisation 3) video recording and I understand apple have good optimisation and video quality but does it have anything else no , nothing!
I like to use windows 11 with effort to prevent them from collecting data.
I know you were saying "modern nas," but it kept sounding like something else...
Hey you'd hear that Sony owners!? You might get 4k@30 soon!
AMD was about to go with that connector that Nvidia went with and back off from going with it.
What consumers want is a Sony console release, they run out of stock, and people who bought 50 of them, and then sell them for $1k... and can't sell them.
Samsung #1, south korea will bury steves fruit🍎
I am an engineer. I would like to use Linux, but none of the software I use can be used on Linux, so i am still stuck with Windows. it's just a fact that people need to realize.
I avoid anything Apple...
You didn't exactly argue that Linux isn't ready. You kind of agreed with the comments that marketing or external pressure needs to happen but you didn't really say why. Linux is either feature ready or it's not just saying that it's not and not giving a reason isn't really definitive. If you want to disagree then give a strong reason. Otherwise you're just agreeing that it's a marketing problem and not a feature problem
How can Tesla charge $12,000 for something that STILL doesn't work?!
CS382 = $300 chassis
I'm using Linux and I always said to all new users, if your device can keep up with new Windows and updates, nothing bad happen then don't change to Linux.
Linux isn't ready at all, most laptop and you don't have any fans controlls or CPU Settings and you need really thinkering to change anything. There are companies like tuxedo, system 76 and more that will provide software to they Linux PC/laptop but very often that software is broken in next update and you or downgrading or waiting for new update.
lack of big companies software Adobe and more, I don't use them.
happy that gaming at Linux is better but for people who playing online is difficulty because game devs don't give a damn to prepare any good anticheat for Linux, good I playing 99% single player and Windows on SSD on USB stick that I can play online or other single player games that can't be run on Linux.
No wonder Tesla has dropped in sales; the entire world economy is in shambles and regular people have food, rent or mortgages to pay which all have gone up in price while inflation is rampant as well.
Linux is ready for the masses. But because the development is primary through communities, not big companies, there is no huge marketing budget just sitting around to give companies incentives to offer their HW with Linux primarily. It's just the state of the world, people use Windows and MacOS because it's already on the computer they bought.
Even a lot of PC Games are in the middle ground, only caring that the computer they buy will run the games they want to play, almost not caring about how much eye candy they have to turn off to do it.
System76 and tuxedo make computers for linux. And im using linux myself so ill see just how not ready linux is.....
I kinda dislike using the term Linux as if it’s 1 software. It’s a wide array of multiple softwares. I’m not saying I agree or disagree with the topic. Personally I just like to clarify because if 2 people have Linux, that doesn’t mean it’ll be the same. Which is why I believe Linux will have a more difficult time overall because like the host said, people don’t always want a HUGE amount of choices.
Yes, need to focus on a product vs just "Linux" ... if Linux wasn't ready, I doubt the Steam Deck would be so cool
This. Just saying Linux doesn't mean that much when it describes for example both Gentoo and Fedora Atomic Desktop
My ipod 3rd gen died literally within a week of the warranty expiring. My iphone 4 was updated after a couple years and the battery life immediately was like half, and for a several years I was treated like a conspiracy theorist. Apple doesnt get my money
Ps5 pro going to be scalped to hell. Good luck even getting one.
I don’t understand why nvidia can’t just start using thicker copper power adapters to increase its efficiency
The issue is coming from loose'ness, and/or thermal expansion-contraction 'walking' the connector out.
Basically, these fail from 1pin getting overloaded, then starting a 'Thermal Cascade' of multiple pins heating and moving.
If I've had PCIE 6 and 8pins 'walk themselves out' from sudden power outages (under load), I can only assume it's a factor in the smaller, looser(clip) +12v (12)16pin.
@@LRK-GT but wont thicker copper cables prevent an overload because they can carry more current more efficiently
@@corneraction6765 Yes, but:
The issue appears to be coming up @ the pins / pin geometry (under transients).
The wire gauge isn't the issue, it's the pins and receptacle.
One could make the conducting wire out of 12AWG pure Silver, the issue w/ nVidia's power connector would still remain.
@@LRK-GTthank you for letting me know, I thought it was an efficiency problem
5090 better be efficient as hell if it has this shit connector
shills will still find ways to defend this company lmao.
I just buy 7900xtx and its good I wish to get AM5 Cpu and AM5 Mobo ( But my bank only allow me loan of 1200 euro for GPU) :D maybe soon if I can afford it :D
A PlayStation pro sounds hilarious 😂 why do console players need extra oomph?
Hmm, I don't like a lot about the Apple ecosystem, and I personally would go linux if windows crossed some line... but I think Apple would take over the PC market before linux. Which given what I don't like about their setup is exactly why Linux should take over.
