This series is so addicting I can hardly wait for the next episode to be posted.
Me too
Me three!
Me either! I love all their videos!💕
Yup...Same..
I feel the same way
Good to see you’re fixing the workshop so you can better use it. It looks good.
Doug no one could ever say you are repeadative, as you are changing what you are doing so often ,great to watch no matter where you are.
I can imagine how much time it takes looking for what you need, knowing that you have it "somewhere". Time wasted. This will alleviate that issure and you can work on another project!! Love your channel--always have and always will. Happy family, hard working and funny!!
It’s looking better all around he time !!! I have a suggestion for your glass jars of bolts, screws etc… drill the jar lid to the underside of the shelf and just screw them into the lids . Saves shelf space for other things … ??👍👍
My son in law did the same in his garage and it does save space and looks very nice.
That also eliminates having to remove the jars every time he needs to reposition the work shop/trailer. Doug might be able to utilize the shelf unit he built during this video.
I was going to read through the comments and see if anyone had recommended this, but with almost 400 comments, I gave up. You can screw the lids of the jars to the shelf above and screw the jars on and off from the bottom. It frees up shelf space for flat items and keeps the jars safe when/ if you move the trailer.
Either way, it’s another comment to improve your algorithm 😊
Awesome cleanup unless anyone does it they really don't know how detail driven that job is great job now sit back have a cool Lemonade cause you earned it my friend you have to feel way better now
I can always tell when Doug has a new tool. He can’t keep from smiling. 😊 New shop does look really good. I have a theory. If you just keep moving things around, eventually it all disappears.
Instead of glass jars I use Jif peanut butter plastic jars, if I drop them they don’t shatter.
the amount of time, stress, and money this will save you will be so worth it
One thing that drives me absolutely crazy is when I save something "in case I need it," but when I have the perfect use for it I can't find where I put it, LOL Great job on your "Spring Cleaning," being clean and organized is such a stress reliever!
Oh boy! I like to have your organization skills! Your shop looks great. Glad you're happy with it 😊
Make you own custom labels. The shelves are beautiful!!!
Things are gonna be much easier to find 👍🏼
Now you can go right straight to what you need and know right where everything is and that's a good thing. Good job
Hello Doug and Ashley and the beautiful children I love the workshop I love all your videos when I get a notification I’m so happy I know I’m going to see another great project thank you keep the videos coming great job 🙏🙏❤️❤️👍👍🥰🥰
Easier to work when things are organized
Great progress! It's So awesome to have things organized so you don't spend half the day looking for something you "know is around here Somewhere!" 😆...I like repurposing glass jars for storage. I would just slap on another label over the old one, If a label is necessary. Take care ya'll!🙋💙💜💚
Just a few suggestions put some little rails on the jar shelf so youre not picking up a mess if you forget and move the trailer. I wouldnt put the electric box next tonthe dust bag possibility of a fire or even a small explosion. You doing such a good job. Take care
You are a master of redo’s, rebuilds and reuse. You absolutely AMAZE. The most thorough human I have ever met, seen or heard of in my accumulated years (83). I, as an individual am so proud of your talent, so proud. ❤️❤️❤️👍❤️❤️❤️🙏
I love when things are organized but getting there and staying there takes effort. ❤❤❤❤
Nice work space, great job. God bless you and your family.🍓🦋🤗
Your workshop trailer looks better arranged where you have everything now and it will help you stay organized. Looks good Doug.
The workshop is looking good! A clean workplace is so much better and safer. You and Ashley always do the best jobs!
Hey Doug, if you want to remove the labels off, you can spray WD40. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes, then remove it and clean it with soap. You can use it also for squeaking noise. Just spray it on the joints.
Don’t forget to plan for filming and lighting to film in the workshop trailer. Hyperlite makes LED shop/garage lighting that is pretty cool if you want to check them out. I love organizing, it’s a big job but SO satisfying. Clutter is so counter productive, when things are organized your brain has more capacity to create. ❤ Good job 👍
Time saver when things are organized👍😊💛
Y'all must really like whatever came in those jars, looks like you have been saving a long while❤
That was a lot of work. I know you say there is a lot more to do to get to your goal of clean counter tops, everything tidy. But it sure is a big improvement.
Very satisfying video. This is fun.
The workshop shaped up nice! Hey, it’s the way you wanted it! That’s cool!
75 years old and finally learning that if I get things organized jobs go much smoother.
Your workshop is looking great so nicely organized such hard work is paying off you do a good job organizing. God Bless your beautiful family.
I agree with you about a long narrow shop. I always thought an older mobile home would be a great shop. It's already wired, insulated, heated and windowed.
Yay....another morning video from you to watch while having my coffee...thank you...I look forward to each one! That music at the beginning was cute...waited for Doug to pick up some castinets and do a little dance for us.😂 The workshop is coming out so nice, more useful and a much better layout for your needs.❤
o you made me laugh - come on Doug - some castanets please!!
Looking good! Getting organized is so invigorating. A place for everything and everything in its place. I love all of your little jars. 😊
Good job, Doug! I’ll tell you what my dad did with his jars that might be a good idea for you. We had an abundance of baby food jars after our little sister was born. He screwed the lid to the underside of the shelf then all he had to do was unscrew the baby food jar, get what he needed then screw it back up to put it away.
That would be helpful if you had to move the trailer, you wouldn’t have to put everything in a box to move it. The jars stay in place.
I enjoy watching your videos every single day. Keep up the good work.
It definitely takes time to go through things to decide how to reorganize and what isn't necessary. It's looking great so far! What a difference already!
The shop is looking great, it must be a relief to have this much done. What’s up next. Can’t wait.❤
Shops never stop evolving always something to change
Looking good
Doug, labels off - soak in hot soapy water for half an hour, most labels just float off. Residual glue, wipe off with WD40 👍
I’ve reworked my sewing shed several times and it’s only 8x10! (Maybe you only need a small addition to your shop with 10’ ceiling, since you’ve got a good arrangement already.) Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for your time, energy, and happiness.
Doug & Ashley…you can get the labels off your jars by soaking them in hot water and then putting a few drops of lemon essential oil on them…comes off really good
Your getting ready for the rebuild of new property 😅 it looks so much more organized 👍
Hi Doug Ashley & kids,WOW what a difference.Good ideas for your shop! Have a great week & weekend.👋🏻 Belle & Maverick.❤️
The perfectionist in you won’t leave any screw from being back in it’s appropriate place…but hey Doug never give up and you know quite well how to talk to us and engage us..GOOD JOB DOUD💖👏🏻
We're on day 4 of our workshop cleanout. We literally got to a point where we couldn't do any more projects because of the chaos. Today we're working on sorting the screws, washers, etc. I like your use of the Jovial glass jars, I might use ours for that too. Great job on the creative use of space!
ORGANIZING IS THE KEY TO BUILDING GOD BLESS
That workshop looks so good now. Great organisational skills. Instead of building a new workshop how about getting a shipping container instead. You can get them 40 feet long and they are 8 feet wide. You can fit them out really well and add windows and doors wherever you want them. I think they are a great alternative for a work shop and storage space. There’s heaps of CZcams videos on how to fit them out. Just a suggestion. You may have already thought of it yourself. 😊😊😊
I've looked into them in the past. Shipping containers have drawbacks. For example, it is said that there are toxic chemicals used in the paint to keep them from rusting out at sea and to be able to hold up to the elements. I wouldn't want to deal with that, especially if you have to start cutting into them. And honestly, it would just be easier to build a wooden structure. I don't see any benefit to the shipping container.
They are handy though if you just need a quick and secure storage building.
I'm addicted to organizing and can happily spend all day on one area in my house. Great video!
You can also screw the lids of the jars to the underside of the shelf so they float 👍🏻
I need those shelves for my jars of craft supplies!
I have found using hot water and dawn dish soap gets labels off glass well I just let them soak for a few minutes.
Great job Doug and the music choice was fantastic Ashley. It’s so lovely to know where things are and so easy for it all to get out of place when you’re busy renovating.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Maybe look into a Connex box I have one that’s extra tall they call them a High top and it’s 8X45. It has made a great work shop. I have it sprayed with foam insulation and that helps with the heat and the cold as well.
Wide mouth salsa jars would work great to store screws and things. The labels on the brand I buy come off fairly easily by soaking them in water. I use a scrubbing pad to remove the remaining glue. Some labels have a really sticky glue that isn't water soluble. I use paint thinner to remove that type of glue.
When that long board started sliding on top of the PVC pipe, I called Ashley's name, but I guess she didn't hear me.
😂
Nice improvements! Take care!
I love, love organization! I was always so organized but with my failing health it's driving me nuts that I can't be as organized. I see you and think how nice!!
I would have to make a list where everything is located. Oh well, that comes from age...lol
I need a shelf like that in my life🤩 I feel disheveled when my garage is a mess!
Workshop is looking great! 🌲
😁 Thanks!
Looks good 👏👏 being organized always makes you feel better. Thank you Doug and Ashley 😊 much love 🤗❤
It feels like the Best People on the Internet watch the Best Show on the Internet - real is what we love!
Just a reminder, if you move your trailer again, you will need to secure your glass jars. A bungy cord stretched horizontally should work. Oh, yeah, Goo Gone will remove the labels. 😊
You may rethink leaving the glass in your hutch. Change it to plexi glass would be safer.
I Sooo feel your pain with cleaning and rearranging the workshop.
I’m a quilter. A lot of stuff/equipment in a small space so cleaning out a couple times a year is just like this video. lol. It feels so good when done, yet exhausting in process.
Amid all the workshop talk, I have to say, Ashley, that's a mighty cute hat!
Great progress!
REMOVING LABELs ~ Windex = window cleaner takes off labels a easy way is to lay the jars on their side , soak a paper towel in windex ( window cleaner ) and let it sit for a few hours they come straight off.Cheap stuff from the dollar store works just as well as the good stuff too.
👍 WD40 Is what I use
Thank you for explaining your job. You guys are adorable and the best. I can't imagine anyone disliking you. Keep up the good work. I love the honestym😊
If you want to get those labels off your jars boil them in hot water. Works every time, they fall right off.
Wow, wow, wow, I love organizing. Everything looks so good. I have to say, I am so inspired that I am tackling a problem area in my garage where I store all my cooking equipment.
I’m loving the background music too.
As always be well, be blessed ❤
Doug, I was really excited when you got the trailer for your workshop and was glued to the videos of how you set it up. But as a woodworker I was waiting for how long it would take to take on the greatest project for any shop and that is to rearrange it. That’s the real fun for having a shop.😂😂😂😂😂😂 Enjoy!!! Looking forward to the next rearrangement 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I totally understand I am doing the same thing with my garage. It takes time to organize everything
You sure need that new workshop sooner than later. You'll sure appreciate the much needed storage space when that happens. In the meantime you utilize your space so well. You inspire me!
Isn’t it amazing just how quickly we accumulate stuff? Even a minimal lifestyle comes with stuff. I guess the key is keeping up with what one needs. Storage has been a problem for me in every aspect. Ur creative ideas have given me a couple of good storage options as well. Thanks for the time it takes to make these videos. Easily the best part of many of my days.
I enjoy every video you put out. I could watch a time lapse of you cutting grass. Thank you for taking the time I appreciate you.
I love to reorganize my work area. Thing is someone in the family sees how nice it looks, go in and mess it all up again!!! Oh well!!😊
Soaking in hot soapy water & I also spray GOO GONE Spray gell. It works really good.
Doug
I remember you trying to do routing in the workshop.
I think you're making it so much better.
Wishing you the best
Everything is looking good!! I LOVE organizing jobs like that!!
I love seeing how your brain works! So practical and ingenious!! Take care.
Doug the work shop is looking good ❤️🇨🇦
I like your background music!!
Great job Doug! It's so important to have tools and supplies organized so you can find what you need when you need it and know what you have already. SO MUCH in such a small space, too! 🙏
Oil for the jar labels. Soak off as much as you can in hot water, then rub the glue off with literally any oil.
Good work you guys. You have probably thought of it, but if you label your drawers, you won't have to open all of them to find what you need. That is, of course, if your memory is not perfect where you stored them. LOL
Oh my goodness. Its looking great. Those shelves really made a lot of storage.. Great job. ❤
I love your videos. Always eager to see what you are doing
Ever seen the little sliding puzzles where an object piece goes from one side to the other? That's your work process.
Agree with all that appreciate both the work of house rebuilding and video production.
Just got done with cleaning my cabinets and fridge out and organizing them. Needless to say i am happy it is all done for another 6 months. Lol what a great idea on the desks. God bless stay safe n well. 😊
I use lemon essential oil to get labels off my jars. Works like a champ
I like to have my things organized. Especially my tools, parts and hardware, and wood. It makes it so much faster and easier to get jobs done if you can find what you need without a 3 day search party going on.
Your trailer/tool shed is looking great. Keep plugging away and you'll get it done.
don't apologize your organization is really good! that is a nice workspace!
Good use of a small space
Yup, when you were explaining the perfect workshop to build, I thought just go with what you have. So happy for you, you deserve a comfortable workspace!
Doug, that is the perfect shop for you. The bigger it is, the more stuff you store in it. This makes you have to not hoard and use it up. Looks great!
I SO appreciate your feeling of needing to have a home for everything. I actually enjoy categorizing and would love to have your talent for designing storage areas for stuff. You guys also rock at shopping! lol I have to laugh at this concept of "returning stuff." I've yet to master THAT and have the cluttered garage to prove it!
Still my favorites😊😊😊😊😊
Fir the labels on the jars, you can use rubbing alcohol with a cotton ball and rub them off. It should come off easily.
I use peanut butter jars for my loose hardware. I like that they are plastic and I don’t have to worry about them breaking. As another bonus the labels come off easy and I can then make a label describing the contents of the jar.
Hi Doug you should check out off-grid Bruce he completely did out his entire shop which is huge but he hand-built all of his tool holders for tools and power tools and all that stuff it's pretty cool things on the on the walls miscellaneous wood and everything it's really cool . He's very creative like you are
