Thank you!! I've got a new video coming this week! Stay tuned!
You can adjust the gear lever position ro suit. Hope that helps.
Thank you for the suggestion! Def will make some adjustments
I have had the ADV 2s for about 5 years Primarily for my Ducati MTS 1260. The broke in quickly and mine actually have way too much flex Possibly wearing them from time to time at the MX track because they are so darn comfy. Until, I went off a pretty tall and far jump, landed and that flex ankle made my toes about meet my calf. A month later after I graduated from crutches and the Rehab boot, I only wear them on No Air rides period lol . Now I know why there is a huge difference between ADV and MX boots. Like night and day.
Looks like some awesome boots. I may have to buy a pair.
They are definitely nice boots! Just need to break em in! :)
I used mink oil on mine to soften them up and waterproof the seams for a little extra protection. With time, they are a little more flexible. I did have to adjust the shifter up just a tad for adventure boots, though. But I like that they remain a bit stiff because they seem to protect the lower leg and ankle from turning.
Great advice! Thank you so much!!!
Your mink oil might as well have been snake oil since they aren't made of leather, they're made of microfibre which is completely synthetic.
I bought those boots in march and they are awesome on my GS 1250. I modified the gear lever position upwards. They are still a little stiff but getting better day by day. Marc, Quebec, Canada 🇨🇦😉🏍
Mine finally broke in nicely too and i love them. My only complaint is they are squeaky...are yours? If not, what did you do to stop them from squeaking? :)
@@melissasmotorcycleadventures They don’t squeak too much but frankly what will I do if it becomes worst? I will think about it! Awesome boots, I feel protected. Cheers Melissa 🍻😉🇨🇦
Hey Melissa. Your new boots look very nice but maybe they're meant for aggressive adventure (off road) riding where extreme protection is crucial. I have BMW Motorrad Touring boots. It took a full riding season, about 15,000 miles, for them to totally wear in, and actually it was only zipping them up that was difficult at first. They're great now. Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback! Being a new rider I'm learning so much not just about riding but gear. Also good to learn just how long it can take to break in a pair of boots!
I have the Mid Adventure 2 which i bought some time ago to replace my broken touring boots but have never used them til recently. Compared to my street-oriented boots, these have rather high toe caps so getting them below the gear pedal is a bit of a challenge. On the other hand, raising the pedal makes for easier upshift but more difficult downshifts.
I hope it's just a matter of getting used to.
I wore my boots for a whole weekend just everywhere and broke them in. I finally did find the sweet spot for shifting. Hang in there. You'll get used to it!
Your feet need the protection on adventure riding, keep the boots and break them in.
Thanks for your comment! I'm going to go for it...just keep them and wear them as much as I can to get them broken in
I bought 4 pairs of motorcycle boots because of the same problem. With all of them I have the same issue of having to take my foot completely off the foot pegs to shift down if my foot was underneath the shifter.
The Forma Adventure boots are the best and most comfortable that I have, but they are not that protective.
My other boots are the Alpinestar tech 3 and 7s, and the Oniel Rider boots.
One thing could be the shifter position. I'm going to move my shift lever down a notch and see if that makes it easier to move my foot around the shift lever.
I'll try to let you know how that goes.
I ended up moving my shift level which helped A LOT. I also spend a weekend just walking around in the boots which broke them in nicely. I hope you find what works well for you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I had to adjust my gear lever on the GS with my Sidi Adventure 2.
I had also tried the Alpinestars Tech 7 and the Sidi's are waaaaay better (albeit less protective)
Just give them time to break in and get use to them, no boots are perfect out of the box.
Thanks! I did end up wearing them for a whole weekend around town which broke them in nicely. I love them now!
What did you decide? They seem like motocross type boots and not so much for road use. Hope you and your family had a great thanksgiving!
I kept them. I decided they'd be good for off road riding.
They are designed to be used on road, they are nowhere near the stiffness/protection of mx boots.
They are supposed to be stiff, that’s what saves your ankles in a crash. If you want comfortable boots that is easy to shift and brake with, they offer no protection..
Adjust the gear leaver up a little and get used to lifting the foot wenn shifting.
A week ago I was in a crash myself and I wish, that I had more protection. Luckily I didn’t brake anything but my foot was swollen and blue for a week. I will never use crappy boots again. Yes it’s not easy to shift and brake, but you get used to it and if you’re unlucky they will save your ankles and legs.
@mr450pro I'm so sorry to hear you got in a crash! I'm glad you weren't seriously injured. I ended up wearing the boots for a weekend everywhere and now they loosened up enough that they are super comfortable. I agree, best to wear good gear all the time :) thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi! You may change the shifter. 😊
Thanks! I did end up moving it up a bit but worked best was wearing my boots all weekend to break them in
You have to walk around a lot might take 2- 3 weeks to break in you have to ware them a lot to break them in ,that how mine took they are fine now
Yes!!! That's what i did! I ended up wearing them everywhere and now they feel good :)
I'm waiting for the base layers review honey? Magnificent x
Stay tuned for reviews this winter! 😉
@@melissasmotorcycleadventures I'm hooked don't worry 😘

Can you adjust your shifter! 😉🏍
I did end up adjusting it. Plus wore them for a day straight around town to break them in. Love the boots now! Thanks for commenting!
Maybe in your case it would have been better to go for the BMW-Motrorrad Gotthard GTX boots. Then you would have had more comfort as the SIDI is a 'hardcore' Adventure boot.
At the time I thought I was going to be doing more off roading so I wanted super protective :)
Hello, I am using Vespa gts. I want to buy this boat. Because it will protect my shins in case of an accident. Did I get right? In which season can I wear it? I do not use a scooter in rain and snowy weather. In rainless, hot or cold weather. But I use it especially between May and September. In my country, the temperature between May and September is between 25 and 40 degrees. Do you think summer heat will be a problem with this boot? Is it a problem to have it on my feet in winter or cold months? Will it be a problem for the scooter? Thanks
I wear these boots year round. I have had no issues feeling too hot or feeling too cold. They are definitely very sturdy to protect your shins. After I walked in them for a whole weekend, they got so they were not too stiff. They are very comfortable. I've been very happy with this purchase!
@@melissasmotorcycleadventures What is the maximum air temperature in degrees Celsius during summer? And I know there are some socks. To prevent feet from sweating in summer. Do you have information? Summer is 30 to 40 degrees Celsius and I try to keep my feet from sweating. 🙏🙏🙏
@Murat1982turkey yes our weather is 30-40 C in the summer here. I wear Craft brand socks, they are lightweight and I never have trouble with sweaty feet :)
@@melissasmotorcycleadventures Super information, you are perfect 🙏🙂 I think craft is thermal. Let me see if there is an equivalent in my country. Klim, Alpinestars, revit etc.
@@Murat1982turkey I also use Klim socks! You reminded me of that :)
Hello Melissa, you shifter lever is to low. After moving it up the problem will be solved. Ride save.
Thanks for the comment! Yes I did realize that was an issue. After adjusting and riding for awhile, the boots are working out great.
@@evanstevens1549 you really shouldn't have to stomp your shifter except going into first frequently needs a harder push. If this is a chronic issue, I'd say adjust your lever a bit and depending on the age/use of your bike it could be a bad transmission
I think your husband should have done a better job guiding you on what's best for your riding. I really was impressed with your helmet review, most people are not reviewing but advertising, you showed everyone what the differences were, great job.
Thanks for commenting!! My boots have broken in nicely and I adjusted my shift level which made a huge difference :) I appreciate the encouragement and feedback on my videos :)
@@evanstevens1549 I adjusted it slightly and do not have any issues with downshifting. Frankly what worked better was I wore my boots around town while running errands for a weekend and it broke them in nicely.
As a rule of thumb, your boots should match your tire selection, looks like the himmi is shod with 70 /30 tires.
Ok, so I have a month to go for my 10 day trip… I have a size 39 and feel Uber stiff, so what I got from comments is: Wear the crap out of them daily ?? Was thinking of even putting a blow dryer on them get them warm and move around bend them.. may help??
Ware the boots better than a huge hospital bill darling
I wore them for a whole weekend and broke them in. Now I love them! Def wouldn't love a hospital bill lol
Omg they sold you the wrong boots! Those are ski boots hunnie. That’s why your ankle can’t move. Ok seriously tho what kind of riding are you doing that you need something like that? $400? WTH? Hoping they’re comfortable at least. U crazy Momma😆
All the gear all the time! Boots need ankle protection for off roading or if you low side your bike at a slow speed :)
Boots are totally ok. Stiffness is needed for protection of your ankle. She needs to adjust the shiftlever at least 1,5 inch up.
Absolute nonsense.
