  • In this video I show the features of the Sidi Adventure 2 boots. These boots are very well known in the motorcycle Adventure world and for good reason. I have used these boots for approx 7000 miles and I break this owners review down into 10 areas to consider. I find them to be very comfortable when they are broken in and definitely good enough for all day riding and walking around the campsite at the end of the day, all whilst offering great protection for ADV riders.

    Hello from New Zealand, I ride a Triumph Thunderbird 1600cc, bought a pair of these and love them, as you say more protection than a tour boot, as have a dropped left foot they also help you walk better, better feel, and makes for better confidence when riding or when stationary, great for walking in too, the height is great, highly recommend for cruiser style bikes

    Great honest review...I'm looking at these and the midi version. I have SIDI cycling shoes and they are a quality manufacturer for sure!

    I've had mine for about 45k miles and wouldn't have any other boot. You have to spray them if you can't bear the squeaking. Waterproofness is fantastic due to the goretex. Easy on and off-able and they look fantastic too. I havent broken any of the buckles and haven't tested their crashability.

    Love the review, glad you found a pair you are enjoying. I’m in the Alpine Star and my first set was great but I changed them out recently for the new ones ands I don’t like them as well, too flimsy, the new ones are.

      Thanks Adam it's tough to get the perfect boot that's for sure and there is nothing more frustrating than manufacturers making 'improvements' that are anything but.. Thanks for watching mate 👍

    Hi Jaunt,
    Have the same boots. Saw a tip online to lube the hinges with wax based chainlube. I use Maxima Chain Wax on the chain so I tried it and the annoying sound went away.
    Kind regards from Sweden

    I'm an Australian postie who has only ever worn basic leather road boots before, and they offered no protection from cold, wet, or impact. I bought a pair of Adventure 2 boots yesterday. They are not cheap boots, but are widely considered to be the best heavy-duty touring boots available. The lack of a zipper makes them easier by far to pull on/off and the adjustable buckles are part of the boot's rigid protection system. These boots will keep my feet and lower leg comfortable and very well protected, without reducing my ability to walk when dismounted. I doubt that I'll ever twist my ankle on uneven surfaces wearing these beauties.
    My boots don't squeak at all, but silicone spray under the buckles apparently fixes that issue for those whose boots do squeak. I think beeswax would work just as well. I've applied some already to the surface areas in order to protect the finish. I will also apply some hydrophobic spray which should help them shed mud.

      Thanks Andrew that's great mate the boots can be a bit warm when the sun's out but canny really go wrong. I hope they work out well for you mate 👍

    Most helpful sir! I ended up with Forma adv boots because I couldn't scratch up the extra $300. They're ok! BUT the quality is lower than the price point. I wanted the Sidi's. Thanks to your review I feel confident they will be the right buy. One more thing. Are the soles actually stitched on or is that rubber moulding? If stitched, that's a really good sign of quality. Cheers.

    • @WeeJaunt
      @WeeJaunt  Před 2 lety +2

      Great thanks for watching. Aye I looked at the Forma in the past, they seem like decent boots right enough. The sole is stitched mate and can be replaced

    Good review. I’ve bought exactly the same pair of boots and have yet to wear them in anger. Before I do, I wondered whether you’d dubbin the leather (assuming it is actually leather?) before use or just rinse them off and dry them after use?

    • @WeeJaunt
      @WeeJaunt  Před 2 lety

      Hi Andy. Great boots right enough. My boots are almost always dirty so tbh all I ever do is give them a rinse and so far all good. I probably should think about waxing them at some point though so thanks for bringing it across my radar mate 👍

    Good review of the Sidi Adventure 2 boots, I've had mine now for about 2 years and done circa 12,000 miles in them and they are like slippers, leave them on most of the time when riding or stopped. I have a question, maybe a no brainer but shortly heading off to southern Spain first week of April and just wondering if these boots would be an overkill or warm in Southern Spain and North Africa - welcome your thoughts.

    • @WeeJaunt
      @WeeJaunt  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Bob if you find them comfortable I'd probably just wear them mate. Iv also got lighter tdr boots that I tend to wear when I'm abroad they are almost as light as trainers. Having said that the sidi is as safe as it gets

    Does that steel rod in the sole make the boot like a ski boot to walk in.or is the sole flexible?

    • @WeeJaunt
      @WeeJaunt  Před rokem

      Hi Steve no they are not like ski boots you can walk around and even hike in them if need be.

      Sorry I missed this comment earlier mate they are a bit narrow but for my feet not drastic. I'm a UK 9 and went for a 9.5 they fit perfect for me. So aye a guess if ur a size 10 then a 44.5eu or 45eu would be your best bet. Depends on how wide your feet are and what kind of socks etc you intend on wearing. Hope you find a good fit mate and thanks for watching 👍
