I used to despatch ride and some of us used ex german army para boots. Tough, waterproof all day and cheap. New sidi, goldtop arent cheap but get tough ones with goretex

Army/tactical boots seem ok until you snap your ankle like a twig in em

the compromise you failed to mention was COMFORT. Like everything about gear, its all a trade off - a risk vs reward thing. I would opt for the more comfortable looking but waterproof SIDI, as I'm sure to ride in the rain, sometimes walk around in them and in the .01% chance I wreck, I may or may not pay the price for a less protective boot. All good - appreciate the videos. Keep em comin.

Fair comments....and as you saw the boots that have a lot of wear and tear....they are the more comfortable ones....ha!!!

My Forma Adventure boots are comfortable, except that time I broke my fibula-that was very uncomfortable. Off pavement wear something protective. My Forma ADVs stay on pavement now.

My biggest issue is wearing something- I rarely wear much once weather is north of 77F unless longer highway ride. I just invested in BL A3 suit, hoping I’ll put it on more. I can see boots for serious ride, but I’m still not sure… I need to talk to someone with experience

I recently bought the Tech 7s and I really like them. I also have a pair of AlpineStars Belize Drystar boots....water proof is the important aspect of these, because when the temps went up these boots became almost unbearable. I'm curious if anyone has some long term thoughts on the TECH 7 Drystars? I imagine they'll be just as uncomfortable when temps hit the upper 80's and 90's if worn for longer rides.
And as another person commented....'water proof' only until the water goes over the boot......then water proof takes on a new meaning.....water is trapped IN the boot...🤔😔

I have the tech 7 Drystar for about a year now. They can get quite hot. I dont know farenheit, but up to 20 to 25 celcius they are okay as long as you take them off as soon as you step of the bike. You dont want to walk in them when its hot.
Also my pair wasnt properly waterproof and have now recieved new ones. Still need to test if they are waterproof, but hopefully its okay.
Also, when standing, its difficult to shift and use rear brake for me, because I dont feel the stuff shifting/braking, but im not experienced off road anyway, so might be me.

For what it’s worth, my two penneth worth.
Tech 7s - not sure Drystar is worth it as boots are so big none of my riding pants go over and once the water goes in the top, the membrane keeps it in. Great boots for harder off road - would get the non-drystar if I was buying again.
Toucans - best “adventure” touring boot. My pants go over so I have a waterproof system.
Sidi Adventure 2 - avoid if you want to stand on your pegs- no midsole stiffness. Sold after one tour.

I do agree on the pants…I should have mentioned that in the boot pants are better with those boots….but agree if water goes in…it’s hard to come out…haha!!! - Thanks!!

All of my riding pants fit over my Tech 7 Enduros...Klim and Resurgence jeans, Klim Marrakesh and HWK pants. 🤷‍♂️

Motorcross boots are the best bet off pavement. Injuries and time off the bike suck.
