I'd like to see all that custom millwork after it's been painted.
Yep same here
Go big and bold, that's the only way...no Scandi
These type of projects are game changers. Not only does your skill level go up , but you are part of something that probably not be repeated. This type of Millwork goes way beyond your average day at the office. Btw, it looks amazing.
You sure are right about that!
A portfolio job. Bragging rights.
A highlight of the year.
Your talent, is an inspiration. You’re half my age, and have twice my talent. My wife asks me why do you watch a younger guy do the work you do. I told her once you think you know everything, you’re done. And I ain’t done yet brother. God bless
Just think Richard in a hundred years or two, people will be touring that beautiful home and standing there being totally amazed by all of the
trim pieces/mill work that are going to take this place up many, many levels. Kind of gave me chills thinking about that. It’s not just wishful thinking, it will happen. I’m so glad you received this golden opportunity. I hope we get a tour when it’s all finished, and I sure hope I’m around to see it!
The shot of the stairs with all the bevel cuts and meters aligned was picture perfect.
The reeded soffet sure makes the crown stand out.
The boss man applied his stamp of approval.
Way to go Richard and John.
Wonderful craftsmanship! It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos. The care and pride in your work is inspiring.
I certainly agree with this!
Congratulations Richard and John on your incredible attention to detail and craftsmanship. I love how you worked that 15ga and 16ga nailers in tandem. Way to go!
👊😎👍
I’m in awe! Beautiful millwork and the installation. I could rewatch this video a few more times.
You get better when you challenge yourself. Great work
This might be one of my favorites that you’ve done so far. All your work is on point but this is new to you as well and your passion shines through. Can’t wait to see it done.
I’m appreciating how you and John are getting to spread your wings a bit. Thanks for documenting this.
Looks great! Always nice to see there are still folks out there who care enough to redo something that doesn't meet their standards! Been enjoying this series!
I love the update and the honesty on the challenges you guy encountered. It’s most certainly a huge cap in career. Take care pinch Dawgs👍🏽
Definitely next level work. And the best part is this is just the beginning to more beautiful architectural gigs in the future. I appreciate so much the videos you do to pass on the knowledge and experience to others here looking to do this type of quality carpentry design work.
It is great to see you performing, learning, growing in your new venture! Thank you, and your generous client, for sharing this adventure with us!
It's so nice to see someone who wants to learn and do the possible job they can .I love that you show your mistakes cause we all make them but that's how we learn. Real enjoy the channel keep up the great work .
Amazing craftsmanship!! It’s really great to see you acknowledge your work, and continue to challenge yourself. Obviously the people in your community see your skill and desire to grow your craft. Well done, my friend!!
Incredible work Richard! You and your lads should be very proud of the high quality workmanship you are putting into this project. Cheers!
Great to see you guys stepping up and kicking butt. Fine carpentry!
Always impressive work that you do. It always looks so good. I learn on every video I watch. Thanks.
I find it refreshing that you share your mistakes, things you learn, all of it. Enjoy your videos!
Yep me too ( learning things the hard way) no worries. In the end attention and pride in your craft. Inspiring us all. Thanks….. nice to see the boss showing off your work. Nothing like a boost to your confidence. Looking forward to more videos and too see this project finished
Hi Rich / John
What great craftsmanship looks amazing can’t wait to see the hole room decorated just to see how lovely it all looks. Thanks for sharing guys 🪚👍
Great work brother, I wear the dewaukee hoodie every day. Just got finished reframing and setting some windows at a home with termite damage. It’s nice to drive home and see you guys install some fine Millwork!
Keep it up.
Thats awesome you're reaching new levels brother, so happy for you and John
Very nice looking work. A video of 3s, the triple edge around the windows looks excellent, the 3 steps looks super clean and aesthetically pleasing and your third job in the video has really nice joins.
Thoroughly enjoying these videos. They just go to show how much of the work is solving problems.
"Scream for attention, in the worst possible way"...lol!!!! Beautiful work, partner. Love watching your videos, love the way you explain, share your doubts and screw ups... and remain humble. I'm a union skilled tradesman as a tin knocker, love to see how the other half does their thang. Thanks!!
Nice one brother have my own great projects with similar challenges that I have always accepted for the same reasons as you said. Carving and marquetry I dappled in in my late teens refurbishing old furniture and custom one off has always been my pleasure. So yea it’s great to see you creating Building and loving it at the same time always makes life worth it.
Very beautiful work, & as challenging and difficult this job might be for you Rich; this WILL JUST MAKE YOU A BETTER FINISH GUY, and how cool was that to see the “bossman” not only make a vid about your work, but approve it and love it👍🏻. So cool to be working w/ Brent….an amazing guy and the KNOWLEDGE he has, amazing…..and just Love listening to his stories; could listen to him talk all day.
Congrats on a great looking job, and to be around some great pros in the craft/trades; as is just makes you “work off of each other”…..kinda one upping, and making everyone “BETTER”; which in turn, gives an amazing gorgeous looking home to owners, and ya know that when ppl want something like this installed/made, they understand the intricacies and beauty, which means they’ll be enjoying it for years to come; and showing it off to everyone whom walks into the house👍🏻
Cheers✌🏻
Richard you and John do amazing work, the attention to detail is superior.
10:37 that was some “Training Day” Denzel Washington action there!!!
A little John Wick action right there.
This looks like a very rewarding project and it must feel great knowing that this will be seen by people that appreciate this type of detail. On the clamping of the butt joints how about using glue blocks and clamps on top? Gets rid of the minor damage from the pinch clamps and allows a bit more clamping pressure?
Wow the casing oak will be beautiful for the French doors I can’t wait to see it I just found your channel as I’m renovating my laundry and needed some inspo for cabinets but come across to even better stuff your page
I seen ya boy at Teague lumber today. I was picking up my windsorone greek revival. Its all Thanks to you and your channel I even know this product exists. Thanks sir.
Richard's the Best!! So glad he is making our project better.
That is awesome!! You have taken finish carpentry to another level IMHO
Wow is all I can say. This is artistry. Beautiful work!
Fantastic work, integrity, and craftsmanship.
What an awesome contract. Really loving this series, you deserve this job with your skills
Really impressive work. I liked that you re-did the step area to make it look nicer/ more uniform. Even though it was more work. But at least we all learned something. 😄
Also, the part where you were using two nail guns at the same time gave my quite the laugh.
Amazing craftsman! You and John's skills have grown.
I really enjoy your videos , I am always looking to learn from true professional experience, thanks! and keep up the good work.
Awesome woodworking! Reminds me of the trim installed in homes in the northeast. From Ohio over. I love the character it gives the home.
Very impressive finish carpentry. Hope we get to see it finished out and complete. 👍👍
Are you doing work for Brent Hull? Damn I’m jealous lol
you have major skills man. this job will put you on the MAP for sure. keep it up.
I use a acid brush to clean the glue squeeze out of the reeds and miters. I cut the bristles a bit shorter to stiffen it up, toss them when done.
Richard, you never fail to amaze me, your skill set continues to grow and whatever you earn, it’s worth even more.
Passionate love of the industry.... respect
Brent Hull is a champion among men, a true hero. Great video!
Fantastic. Love your work ethic.
What an awesome job! That soffit piece is one that id probably pop a couple staples in the back across the miter joint just cause you’ll never see it
Proving your skills are next level. Good job!
Love the details. Great job.
You are so good at what you do!
Great video and outstanding craftsmanship!

Double handed nailing! Very nice!
Those pinch dogs work awesome! Thank you for that!
Dude you are truly a craftsman!🔨💰🔨
Excellent job and excellent attitude.
Awesome work. Well done lads. 👍👍👏
Outstanding work, and when the Big Boss is happy...... It's a great day !!
Good luck man!
I like that Neo Matrix like double nail gun work at the end,😆 ... oh and the carpentry is of course great too!
Nice work Richard! Best wishes for the UK 🇬🇧
Great job man. Whoever does the painting I will say a prayer for him :))))))
nice work richard! 🤘
Craftsmanship pure and simple. ❤️💯👍🏻. Boss thumbs up, priceless 👍🏻
Looking amazing !
Looks amazing!
Nice job Richard !!!!
Beautiful work, I love just watching.
Beautiful work. Can you imagine the dust that's going to build up on that top piece of trim....
I was just watching a segment of Ask This Old House and Tom Silva was talking about how much he loves a new challange and having to figure out the best way to do it. So you are in good companyf or sure!
Beautiful work, brother~!!
It looks beautiful, you're doing such a great job. Glad I'm not the one responsible for dusting it all though!
I don't paint I don't get to see the finished product of much of my work but I love seeing your prefinished work.
Great project bro!
Very nice custom job on the trim work.
I think you working with Hull Millworks is just the best thing ever. I love this new awesome perspective.
Awesome work!!!
very nice opportunity....you will be on the build show in no time
Beautiful work
This job is looking really great.
quality work...looks real nice
Beautiful work! Keep the videos coming if you can
looks great!!
I remember using tight joint fasteners on chunky moldings like that milled soffit. It will never open up. The backer strip you put on should do the job well enough.
Very cool work keep up the good work like always smashing my like botton inTexas style katakabooooooooooooom
It is not that often you get people with money AND excellent taste and preference for quality work. You'll do it right and they know it. I'm sure the client is happy to have you film the process.
I'm a little surprised they didn't relieve the back of the reeded stock. Make it a little easier to handle and keeps it more stable during temp & humidity changes.
I'll be that look fantastic after it's sprayed!
I've done similar where we've tucked some strip lighting up there. Looks awesome lit up, just accent light.
Good work!
