I think it is very sweet of James for thanking Mariah. I think people forget that no matter how big Mariah is, she actually like to work with people before they went mainstream and big. In music for example, She collaborated with Nicki Minaj in one of her remix before Nicki transitioned to mainstream pop. She featured Jay-Z in her single before any other mainstream pop artists would collaborate with him and other rappers from the 90s. I think other than being a very talented artist herself, she really has a gift of recognizing other talent, be it in music or entertainment.

im surprised how down on earth and real she seemed in this interview, they got a great energy and you can tell Mariah trusts James.
She used to be this way till 2014-2015. I don’t know what happened after these years, but the diva persona she created for fun in the late 90s/early 00s started to come over her real personality. Although, I noticed that during the interactions with her fans she did on the pandemic she started to be real and natural in the way she used to be uears ago, I think she’s coming back to her original personality.
