#MARIAHCAREY #NARADAMICHAELWALDEN #JACOPASTORIUS - Hudba
everyone who's worked with Mariah always say that she's a musical genius. the way she writes songs, comes up with her lyrics, composes her melodies, how she stacks layers and harmonizes with herself in different octaves, how she rewrites and rearranges her songs for remixes, etc. this woman is just otherworldly!!! give her her flowers people
she is a prodigy and legend
Traitor corey rooney begs to differ.
Janet jackson does the same thing
This is exactly why Mariah Carey deserves her flowers right now why she is still alive! The woman is a BEAST AT SONGWRITING, SINGING AND PRODUCING! She is truly one of the last few legends left!
She's helluva talent.
Never question Mariah Carey. People STILL do. People still question her talent. They question her vocal abilities and songwriting and production. She’s the REAL DEAL!! One of a kind. A dying breed of superstar that we will NEVER see again!!
Mariah is a fucking musical beast.
She's the BEaST of them all !!!😍
Even with all Mariah’s achievements, she is still under appreciated as F*ck. They are just waiting for her demise before they reminded the world who she was.
Happens to all geniuses and talented people
That's not true but okay. 😂
I was one of her biggest fans in the early years.
I bought every single, remixes, etc etc
After Butterfly, everything went downhill from there.
@@lucio.martinez how?
@@o6279
I didn't like her "new" music and she lost her mind.
The last I saw her, she made a complete fool of herself, when she stopped "performing" (she was not singing) in the middle of her set on live TV.
That was a complete disaster and unprofessional, for a singer of her caliber.
She goes around "playing" a Diva, when she is not.
Her best work was long ago.
That key change of "I Don't Wanna Cry" is EVERYTHING! The song is full of hooks and brilliant chord progressions.....it's so sad that we no longer seem to be able to write music like that, or has it just fallen out of fashion? What on earth just happened?!?
I love love love that song!
One of Mariah’s best performance was on When You Believe. Instead of trying to compete with Whitney she perfectly harmonizes and enhances Whitney’s performance every step of that song. So amazing.
Mariah is a beast period. No one should ever question her talent. The woman is out of this world.
It's always refreshing to see people who have worked with Mariah give her respect and credit where it's rally due. I love all of Mr. Walden's work, especially with Mariah and Whitney.
*2:50** WHEN HE SAID SHE COULD SING LIKE THE YOUNG MJ! YES, I HAVE BEEN SCREAMING FOR YEARS.. THAT THE EARLY MARIAH HAD VOCALS THAT LITERALLY MATCHED LITTLE MJ VOCALS.. ITS WAS SURREAL.. EXCEPT SHE WAS ABLE TO ADD MORE WIDTH & TONE TO IT BUT IT CRAZILY RESEMBLED MJ.. especially in ILL BE THERE.*
I've always said this and people cussed me out for saying that. I always felt like she has little MJ tone
@@beoverwait *swear to god I hear it too!!!! I was always amazed!!!!!*

This guy is a regular musical history professor. He should write a book. Amazing guys, thanks.
he needs a podcast
His memory is amazing!
@@PolaBurrr He's got one!
@@PolaBurrr he has a podcast and his own CZcams channel with content just like this!
In fact, he has written more than one.
“She’s so accurate“ That is the perfect description of Mariah!
It amazes me that Mariah with over 30 years writing and producing number 1 hits, these so called "music experts" STILL don't know she writes and produces her own music. SMH.
those guys love the smell of their own farts
It is how she said once: "A man's industry"
Most people don't know the difference between "Performer" and "Song Writer" and "Song Writer-Performer". They just know what / who they see singing/rap verse .
People can’t know everything about everything, they have amazing knowledge and they want to know more
Loved seeing Narada talk about Mariah!!
Mariah's voice and songwriting skills are not to be played with! So glad she got inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame this year!!
She clearly took all the tips she learned from her first album and then started co-producing all her records from Album 2.
She's stated that at the beginning she made it clear with the label that she would not be singing songs written by anyone else but herself and any writing partner she would wish to have and I'm glad she did because her demo tape (before she was signed) itself had 3 Number One songs including Vision Of Love. The label just had to trust her!
She's also stated that she didn't realize her input with the songs being made on her debut album was actually her producing (she was also shy and intimated by the big names she worked with), hence she negotiated for production credit on her sophomore album when she fully realised her power as an artist.
@HighHopesBass The commenter is doing something you coold've did, give credit where credit is due but go off if you really have too.
@HighHopesBass Lots of people don't have the faintest idea how _any_ record labels work. So what? The OP was obviously just expressing admiration for Mariah. No need to be snarky about it.
@@BassByTheBay Exactly, and what we don't know, we found out through lawsuits brought by the artists. For a lot of haters, it's easy to be snarky and rude because they don't believe that Mariah desrves credit.
she did produce a lot on her first album as they were on her demo tape but she wasn't allowed the credit
Yooooo seriously Mariah Carey totally representing Long Island New Yorker! Best way to stir up the pot is come in raw talent and full on for blood! Mariah was in her own league! No comparison to whitney cause she has her own sound too! Amazing artist don’t need comparisons
She knew where she stood with Whitney. She didn’t want any of Whitney in the beginning (which sux) and I wish they’d worked together sooner when they were newer. The shit they have in common….😩😩❤️❤️
@Ciarra Johnson
Well, that wasn't really the case. Both were vocal titans that were secure in their abilities and didn't feel threatened by one another.
MC has stated that she never felt threatened because she worked on being the best Mariah (anything outside of that didn't matter to her). She just wanted to achieve greatness by working on her full package. Singing, songwriting, arranging vocals, composing melodies, producing...
Their song together was beautiful. I'll never get over the Oprah performance of it. Wish they did a catchy pop song too.
@@krissy9128 Thank you. Notice how they tried to make it seem like a dominance/Vs thing.
Thank God for Mariah Carey
The way legit musicians talk about Mariah is a testament to her genius. The media would just rather focus on tabloid worthy headlines about her because that shit sells.
Mariah is among the last of the very few REAL legends we have around, we need to give her what she's due - while she's still here. Because she earned everything, she worked hard and busted gates wide open.
Mariah is a LEGEND and though they say legends never die, the person unfortunately does. So let's celebrate Mariah while she's still alive.
Icon. Diva. Music Genius. 💖
Musical genius mariah carey
Urghh I want a well done MC documentary...need it tbh!
With people like him who were on her journey throughout her career. I can listen to people talk about her musical genius all day.
Mariah is the greatest vocalist of all time and greatest songwriter of all time and this guy just substantiated that and she’s the best selling female artist of all time
Don’t shit on a word that requires more than just average technique and underdeveloped voice. :)
@@marieljackman1850 HAHA 😆
Yes she is.
@@marieljackman1850 you don’t get called the things Mariah has been called vocally being average or underdeveloped.
How come no Ody that has ever worked with her has said the things u are saying about her voice being underdeveloped? How come vocal coaches don't say the same stuff u are saying?
Mariah: Vocal genius, voice of an angel.
OMG he was there when my favorite song "I don't wanna cry" was created. Incredible to know so many things about Mariah based on his perspective ❤️
A lot of producers always say how professional, committed and passionate Mariah is when writing music with her.
Singers say she’s also great to collaborate with, rappers say the same.
I truly believe Mariah is a good soul, a good person but she’s probably not afraid to look mean and Diva to the others because of the business she evolved in.
That’s a tough business and she managed to survive, most of the time on her own.
Tommy was there for the 7 first year but ever since she’s been floating in the music seas like one of these mogul.. well.. she is a mogul herself.
I admire Mariah.
Narada is a deep soul. I'm glad we all got to experience his rippling magic. What a FORCE.
Mariah is THE MUSIC INDUSTRY itself.. One in a Billion Artist.. Mariah IS THE MARIAHHHHHH periodt
Mariah the true artist
mariah the best
Her talent is totally different 💯👑
I love MC! The only other artist I can think of who harmonises with themselves is Michael Jackson e.g. Human nature & there's many more!
Eh...Marvin Gaye🌻
So glad they mentioned 90s boyband music somehow resemble and is influenced by Mariah's music, coz I've noticed these very similar patterns and harmonics too
I once came across a comment about Mariah Carey saying: "It's easier to find another earth than to find another Mariah" and what can I say, it's true. This lady is talented beyond belief and her voice in my humble opinion has the perfect timbre and tone. The unmistakable beauty of her sound and how colourful and powerful her voice can be....in this department Mariah has no equals. The only other female singer that comes to my mind with a comparable ability to display various sound within one voice was Maria Callas in the operatic genre. Mariah is the full package artist with her instrument, craft, perfect ear, ability to produce melody and text. People mostly do not acknowledge her out of envy, as she is so ridiculously gifted. But her life was no fairytale and she worked her behind off to get where she is. She respects people before her and after her. She is a class artist and definitely my favourite voice and singer. She's family.
'RIAH Was Touch By "THE VERY HAND OF GOD"👋, Which No Doubtly Gave Her A WELL Of Talents!
Wow I love the insight into how I Don't Wanna Cry came to be! It's a masterpiece
Mariah is so successful because she is a lyricist, producer, singer and song writer. She does it all! Most artists these days only sing, but have everyone else do everything else. One few examples that does it all is Taylor Swift, but she isn't in the same caliber when it comes to singing and lyricist as Mariah. Mariah is a musical genius, no one has yet to match her, to this day. And that's the real tea.
I am _so glad_ you guys devoted two episodes to Narada. His passion and energy is so infectious, and hearing about his work with those legends is an absolute treat. He deserves as little editing as possible!
I am a giant Mariah Carey fan (lamb) and I really really enjoyed this!
Why don’t you guys know Mariah Carey is a songwriter????
Why should they? 😂😂😂
@@ON-ck9eo why shouldn't they?
Mariah is the true musician
Whitney will always be my favorite but Mariah is incredible. Only these 2 vocal geniuses can make me bawl my eyes out when they sing 😘
Many vocalists can make me cry. Especially ones from church.
It's beautiful you can appreciate both.
They hit different. For me it’s the opposite but that’s okay. Whitney’s voice was one of a kind. When she sang, she sangggggggg.
Don't forget Celine she's a beast also all three are probably the greatest female vocalist that ever lived.
That's the trinity... It's all coming back to me now! To love you more all by myself cover.... Epic!
I had no idea Narada produced. One of my favorite drummers from his solo days and Mahivishnu Orchestra.
Narada produced quite a few people back in the day Stacy Lattisaw Angie Bofill Sister sledge Phyllis Hyman
Greatest female vocalist ever and then some 🎉
Thank you so much for being music historians with these legendary musicians. You guys and Rick Beato are doing the really important work of documenting the stories from the people who lived it!
"A spaceship with a future!" indeed.
This is such a guest with so much history and the energy, passion, memory, and storytelling ability to get you fired up about it as well!
Narada is a riot 😂 I love hearing these stories. Mariah is incredible!
Is she writing lyrics? Hahaha
That’s why mariah always says “as a songwriter”…
Narada has clearly stated that he just took care of the chords, and all is Mariah’s stuff
Exactly and it's what Mariah has been telling people for the last 30 plus year's and people still don't want to believe her.
@@codywalsh2075 Exactly. People refuse to believe her being a great writer and producer because mariah doesn't give off an image of a stereotypical writer or producer who plays instruments and stuff. They find it hard to believe since mariah's "diva" and "glamour" image seemed to not coincide with being a writer/producer.
Yea, she does the composition of the song but just with her voice instead of her playing a chord! Which is why Narada said she has a mic and him the instrument because she will direct him musically as well as him directing her.
Mimi really deserves so much more credit!!
I believe he says "chorus," but totally agree with what you said
@@jameslloydconcha Unfortunately, you're right. Imagine entertaining that old, dumb, stereotypical ass mindset in 2022🤦♂
I often used to think One More Try was starting to play when it would be Can’t Let Go. Just the intro and just until I heard the whistle.
That man is intense! I bet that's exactly what made him such a legend ❤️
@dead wax, if you're a so-called music channel, you should know that mariah carey wrote and produced all her songs... google is free and you can see the writing credits for yourself. this is the greatest songwriter of all time and the lack of acknowledgement she receives despite her accolades and success is because she is a woman.
The nutso thing is that the lead of this man's Wikipedia article is that he briefly played drums in Journey during the pandemic.
Thank you so much for bringing this amazing musical mind on. What a story teller! I would have watched a 4-hour long episode of this conversation…
These two episodes belong in the Library of Congress. This is documented history.
Mariah, like the rest of the legends, is not a musician. She's THE MUSIC. 😍👏
I could watch you 3 for hours! He's the perfect guest! Legend.
6:08 Dude how mayn times does she have to say she writes all her music? Honestly at this point it's just disrespectful.
