Elliott smith, without doubt in my mind, is the most underrated artist of all time. His song make me wanna cry. His voice is heartbreakingly emotive. My youngest child has the middle name Elliott. I was meant to do a "birthing play list". I started with 9 Elliott smith songs, didn't get around to putting anything else on. So we just listened to Elliott smith on repeat for 8 hours. Water birth too.

3:14 of all the people who have come and gone throughout the course of my life, I tend to find myself missing Elliott more than anyone. There was something about watching him perform live that just didn’t translate through most mediums.
Like magic, but the cameras never quite caught the trick.
Great song, kinda prefer the piano ver to the album one.
The piano part behind the lyrics 'and I could have gone to that place' stepping down is fuckin awesome. And the way it steps back up after the last lyric is beautiful. His piano playing Is massively under rated

Wow great video! This studio is in my hometown in the Netherlands. It’s a nice studio and a good interview with Elliott.
Hope you guys do more Elliott songs. Every song is great. Maybe next time a guitar song or an old headmiser song. Thanks!

It's like he's writing his own requiem. :(

This is not the album version. This is a great performance, but hearing how he used the studio would have made a lot more sense. This is not how he would want someone to hear the song. That’s why the studio version is different. That’s how he wants it to be heard. But he can’t harmonize with himself. The many harmony vocal tracks on the studio version are pretty essential.

This is one of my fave performances of all time! Totally my personal take, but i think better than the album version
