Great react! You gotta check out more of Elliott’s stuff, it all great. My personal favorite is his final album, From a basement on the hill. You might want to listen to his albums in order though, that way you can see his full evolution.

Definitely a challenging album first listen, especially because the lyrics are very abstract. Needle in the hay is about drug abuse and the white lady in white lady loves you more is a reference to cocaine. And in christian brothers and southern belle he talks about his abusive stepfather hitting him and his mother. Real heavy stuff that was hard for me to grasp when I first heard it.

My brother, it may seem a stretch but based on what I see you dig so far (alex G, Elliot and Jeff, Steve lacy etc)…do Boygenius “the record”. They just won 3 or 4 Grammys for that so everyone will watch the reaction vid. Trust me. It’s 3 lgbt girls who were successful solo artists in their own right and banded together to form a supergroup. They love emo, rap, folk and gospel…ELLIOT SMITH…I’m black and I’m telling you: do a Boygenius reaction video and thank me later
