Thank You for this helpful video We couldn't find out why the foot wasn't coming off all the way. It turns out we hadn't removed the shifter linkage! 🤦♂
Your video helped me tremendously! I hooked up cups to my motor and it didn't piss water so I filled a tub to put it in and it still didn't piss. I was watching your video to see how complicated it would be to change the impeller when I noticed where you hooked the water hose. I had seen that tube and couldn't figure out why it went to nothing...SNAP!!! There was nothing wrong with my motor...things get a little easier, once you understand. Thanks for saving me a lot of work.
Yamahas manual states that the flush port / hose assembly is only to be used with the motor off as there will not be any water supplied to the nice new impellor that was just installed and on it's way to looking like the old one did. Some other brands may be ok running but not Yamaha. Check it out.
Mark, where did you get that skiff? I have a 15 hp Yamaha sitting in storage right now......needs a home. Thanks for your videos.....love to watch them.
I so far up in the marsh that I don't have to worry about people messing with it if by chance some one go by it I don't think they will mess with it this is Texas after all we all pack heat lol .
Yes it has been a long time so I can't remember but I would not have just changed it . it was most likely a low water out put. and as for the fuel pump I remember having to pump the bulb to keep it running.

Would like to see that scooter going in the water and seeing it perform.
We really enjoy your videos.
Great video as always!
Thanks
Lower unit needs to be in water or the impeller will burn up again .The upper hose is to flush out salt water
Does anyone know if the fuel pumps on these are the same as the 2 stroke version

I bought it used it is made by Mowdy I think you can look them up on Google . mowdyboats.com/boat/10-scooter
I have that same motor do you know what size and brand jack plate you have hard to find one for smaller outboards
I made that one using a hydraulic unit that was made for a tilt and trim I don't remember the name of it .
How do you secure your skiff when you are on your kayak/SUP?

Where do you don’t the parts? My grandpa has an 86 yamaha 15 hp. Needs a water pump and he can’t find one
You can get it online( boats.com) I have bought some from amazon .
Were you getting any symptoms of those parts failing before replacing them?
