  • If you want to upgrade and speed up your ps4 loading times in half, the best solution is to replace the slow hard drive for a faster one. I found a hybrid drive which is half a combination of an ssd and a hard drive.
    --------- Links ---------
    Download PS4 OS: https:www.playstation.com/en-us/sup...
    Seagate Firecuda Hybrid Drive SSHD 2TB: amzn.to/30TwGnO
    External Storage Adapter: amzn.to/3CKRcVd
    This smart hard drive over time it will learn which games you play the most and would load those games a lot faster than before.
    The best thing about this sshd is that is very affordable if you compare it to a full ssd which can cost even more than the ps4 itself.
    In this very easy follow tutorial you will learn how to replace the hard drive, reinstall the ps4 operating system (OS), and on top of that how to use your old slow hard drive into a portable storage device.
    After following all the instructions you will end up with 3TB of storage, which is plenty of space for most people even if you have a large library of games.

    Yo bro I’m about to buy it today, because my PS4 pro is having problems because my games keep saying error, game pictures isn’t fully loading & games kicks me out & having problem with my PS4 controller or sometimes my PS4 pro won’t turn on

    Great video bro. I noticed you didn't set the install application as the new firecuda drive. But when testing my new firecuda today, i noticed no improvements in load times. So i assumed i had to boot the games straight from the internal. Just to confirm, you're seeing these boosts while booting your games from the external drive, correct? Cause now i'm in the process of moving everything over to the internal to see the enhancements. This is driving me crazyyyy...

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 2 lety

      You will see improvements after running the game a couple of times, doesn't matter if it is installed internally or externally. The first time booting a game will load a regular speed

    I agree with you the sshd is a good all around hard drive. It offers good balance of speed, capacity, and better price. I really don't like the hdd because it has slower speed and it way too long.

    i know this video is old but do you still recommend to do this on my ps4? is the Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hybrid SSHD 2TB still the best option out there for $80?

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 2 lety

      Yes I still recommend it, however you don't necessary have to get the FireCuda hard drive, any hybrid SSHD would do just fine and you will notice the difference.

    Recently around three weeks ago my ps4 has been acting up, and I've tried everything to fix it. I've come to the conclusion to get a new hdd, and I'm looking into the firecuda- I'm still a little worried about a few things, I'm not planning to get any external storage, would that change things for me? I just dont want my ps4 to be slow, crashing and freezing anymore either way this video helped out :)

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 3 lety +1

      Even if you don't get an external drive you can still replace the internal hard drive if you're 100% sure that it is giving you problems.

      The SeaGate FireCuda is better + it's in pretty much same price range [T]// but the BarraCuda is ok for the Ps4.

    I have frame drops in some games, like the division 2. Would you think a new harddrive boost my performance?

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 4 lety

      Unfortunately no, faster hard drives only boost loading times, not frame-rate, perhaps you need to upgrade to a PS4 Pro or a gaming PC

    • @tahaamhaini7438
      @tahaamhaini7438 Před 4 lety +1

      Do you mean like little freezes in your games than it’s because of your 5200 rpm on your hdd I doubt it’s frame drops so I think that’s why

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 3 lety

      If you buy an ssd your PS4 won't take full advantage of the speed it offers, so I would recommend to buy a regular hard drive or a SSHD

    I’ve heard arguments that using the internals won’t net you any extra speed boosts due to the internal being sata 2 versus the external using USB 3.0
    Is this true? Will using the firecuda give faster speeds over time?

    • @NefHack
      @NefHack  Před 3 lety

      The PS4 Pro comes with sata 3 but yes as I showed in the video you get around 50% faster loading times.

    Do not use the firecuda, I bought one brand new in November and it failed on me today. I can't even boot into safe mode. I bought a western digital hhd to replace it, hopefully it works out

    • @demgutts
      @demgutts Před 3 lety

      @PlayyaKyran Z the wd card works great, no issues. Seagate sent me a replacement but I'm too scared to use it due to others saying that the went through 3 replacements. Side note, I beat 3 games on the firecuda before it burned out and none of the data was loaded to the cloud for some reason so now I have to do it all over again. Everything from my first hard drive was still there However

    • @demgutts
      @demgutts Před 3 lety

      @PlayyaKyran Z western digital 2tb hard drive 2.5 inches. There's hardly a difference in speed vs the firecuda

    the internal HDD when you use it for external and it ask you to format do you lose your games?

    • @SeriusG
      @SeriusG Před 4 lety +1

      I believe so. Before accepting to format the external drive the system warns you that all contents on that drive will be deleted. Try pausing the video at the exact moment when he is formatting the external HDD to see the exact message. Also before replacing the old HDD i would recommend backing up your PS4 save data first. If you have a Playstation Plus account you have the option to back up your save data to the cloud. If you do not have one you will need a separate USB drive. Make sure it is empty as the PS4 might have to format the drive before you can use it. which will erase the contents.There are many guides online that give you instructions on how to go about this process, just search something like (how to backup PS4 save data) or something along those lines and you can find more info that way.
