  • BRAND NEW EDENCOM SHIPS - First Look and Discussion | EVE Online
    EDENCOM are showing there ability to fight back against the Triglavian invasion forces by releasing there brand new ship line to capsuleers including the new Vorton Projector weapon systems typically found on upwell structures.
    Today we jump onto the test server to have a look at Skybreaker, Stormbringer and Thunderchild and discuss there pro's and con's (also watch till the end for some awesome mass test footage :))

    At least they can make two modes one mode for single enemy damage, and one for multiple enemy damage.

      Ye this will be needed. Something like this at least. What's their intended use anyway?
      Different firing modes like with t3d but in a t1 ship would go against current tech-level complexity

    [05:00] yes, the new weapon is very intriguing in how '[corp] friendly fire' and 'safety settings' are directly tied to its targeting [non] choices.
    i saw someone comment on singularity during the mass test that "drones are gonna be great for 'chaff'" (although i have yet to test that for veracity)
    [08:00] wtf?!?! you can't shoot someone in low sec, with yellow safety, if you have a friendly fire wingman close enough for the chain effect to happen, so it prevents you from firing until you select red safety????

      yeah the safety took me by surprise aswell. we tested them literally the day before and it wasn't like that I think they tweaked something at down time to force the safety to red. I don't like that tbh so much room for error when coming back to high sec

      @@DisownedHero that'll be extremely worrying if i cannot use the weapon on a miniblob of nestors/leshaks shooting an upwell (if the upwell forces me to choose red safety) in high sec

      i made an hour long one that's way more indepth (thankfully with timestamps) but that's unlisted...link is inside the shorter one's description.

    What is the purpose of the EDENCOM ships, is it another ship to do missions in like the marauders, They look very cool and the weapon system is very interesting.

    this is a ship of possibility's they cant really hurt each other so allow friendly fire 2 in a fleet if you know where a frigate fight or bombers bar is you pre lock each other shooting as you land especially if your hitting small faction war or gate camps in the cruisers depending on price this could realy hurt
    battleship versions on gate or drag bubbles sacrificing the bubble to garrente kills and time to jump by lining away

    They need to triple the damage output of these weapons. Can be a great threat to the enemy if used correctly but a great threat to your own team if poorly accounted for and makes it Solo PvP viable. Let's be honest here, if the damage output of these ships doesn't change, no one will take it out fighting.

      Yeah I cant see a single solo engagement where these ships would win. Unless you managed to find a 1v1 with you in the cruiser and someone in a frig it would just get melted

    5:37 The instinctive muscle-memory of Disowned Hero to click to enter lowsec space tells me he is a carebear that has that option enabled on the live server. Obvious carebear habits are obvious.

    6:11 "If you accidentally have your safety set to red and you're in highsec . . ." Accidentally? Many players are perma-red safety in highsec, ready to take on anything if they judge the situation to be worth it . . . except carebears.

      @@TheDENTAGE It is true that highsec actually is the most dangerous area, due to the false sense of security so many players take from the CONCORD mechanic. It is a PvP consequence mechanic, not a PvP prevention mechanic.

    Maybe new drones will come out with these new ships that are immune to the AOE effect of these ships..... Who knows?

      Yee let's hope for some serious tweaking and/or rehauling or it'll be doa. Too bad since I actually got a little hyped with the idea of a new targeted aoe weapons system, and new faction ships since I, for admittedly vague reasons, dislike trig stuff.

      50 times the number of targets it bounces to, which if it STARTS at 5 and goes up that becomes ridiculous quickly
      Also if it doesnt even need tracking,

      Yeah does seem that way. You would have to completely change fleet tactics which is stupid just to accommodate 1 ship type

      Why? Does it bounce from enemy and damage fleet members? If not it's gonna work great vs. a fleet. low 1-target/ primary dmg but multiply it by 5-10x... Like a remote smartbomb. There will be a threshold (idk, 20 of those ships) where logi won't be able to handle the incoming dmg (small, but dealt to every/ random fleet member) and before you burn down every primary they will tickle your fleet to death. Or at least inflict great losses/ soften the targets for fleet main dps.
