I like that they aren't super anal about the rules, just a chill game. Reminds me of all the modes we used to make up for various physical and card games as a kid.

Its a casual game, they barely even know the rules.
I agree hands down. seriously when I played back in the nineties, we invented new game formats every other week.
They did make a signficant ammount of mistakes which for experienced players is kinda frustrating.
Look pal, I won't go out of my way to call myself anything along the lines of "experienced" as I only started playing just before the last time Ravinca came out.
But I am experienced enough to know that you WILL encounter discrepancies while playing this game, and unless you have your phone on hand to look up specific rules to clarify on a moment's notice, (and considering stopping the game every time to do so would make for tedious watching,) you're just going to have to roll with it.
See the reason people are complaining about no sleeves...is Sjin put a nearly $100 card down without sleeves... Cavern of Souls is a REALLY expensive card.

Unfortunately they dont seem to care to even look up the rules. So i doubt theyll ever do that lol. Its sad cuz i love them too, n itd be awesome if it was a regular show.
Why would wizards pay them to make magic content if they were already doing so?
I prefer them being sponsored. SInce it means it's much more viable for them to do these half hour episodes with long recording times.
Just the way it is nowadays, long videos are bad on CZcams algorithms. Used to be the exact opposite. You get paid so little nowadays it's quantity over quality ESPECIALLY when a long video like this could be demonitised instantly because the bots might've heard a swear somewhere within the 30 minutes. At least with sponsored content you get something out of it.

Orcish Lemonade You need better deck boxes then. I'm a fan of the UltraPro Satin towers. They're cheap and sturdy and will fit 100 double sleeved cards plus a bit extra for tokens and have a dice compartment.
I'm super happy you guys are playing commander, it's my favorite format! You can get so much variety and you can build as cheap or expensive as you want making it accessible for everyone. I do hope you guys do more even after this match, I'd love to see lewis, duncan, and sjin build their own decks. I loved seeing Olivia and Grimgrin as I used to play olivia and I'm currently playing scarab god tribal zombies. I did play Grimgrin back in the day but I love having him and his combo's in my scarab god deck.

I'm a simple man. I see Yogs and Magic. I see it's Commander, my favorite format. I rush to watch it.
The first deck that I had ever built was a black/blue zombie deck, and my favorite card in magic is Grimgrin. So, go Tom! I believe in you!
I love that they said you start at 30 life in commander, you start at 40. And in games with more than 2 players, the first player to go does draw first turn
Not to mention 2HG Commander is 60 life. Though 2HG rules do state that the first team to go does not draw
God forbid friends get together and play thier game however they damn like. kind of like the people who first created edh or pauper or 2hg did.

Yeah, but they are playing a casual game.
So house-rules and such would allow banned cards to be used in casual games for the sake of fun.

What Lewis should have done is make a pentavite. Then block Olivia. After Olivia is confirmed blocked just sacrifice the pentavite to put a +1/+1 back on the pentavus. Bam. Free blocks.

Just in case someone was wondering in normal two headed giant the team starts at 30, in solo commander you start at 40, so in two headed giant commander you start at 60
Red/white and Black/blue are my favourite decks, especially in EDH/Commander

real winner is lewis for actually calling it a "legendary" planeswalker at the start XD
Man i love watching the yogscast play, especially since i got into magic thanks to their original kaladesh series. But i just wished it was more structured or they brushed up on the rules a bit, some things just makes my skin crawl. Hope to see more of this !
Not a magic player, but I'm confused, shouldn't the knights at 21:05 caused 6 damage? I don't think Lewis blocked them, he was going to but then decided to block the vampire
And don't commanders do double damage to players? Or am I playing a different game?

Commanders deal regular damage.
Except that there is an additional rule that if you deal a grand total of 21 (or more) combat damage _with your commander_ to an enemy player, they lose the game immediately.
It's probably not going to matter for this game and is kind of a pain to track down sometimes, but it exists.
Yeah, that rule was very important when I played a game with someone who managed to give himself infinite life!
The short, simple version is that players have half life when they're getting killed by commanders and specifically commanders, including commanders from different players.

Sjin, if you want the abaolute trolliest card ever in MTG, its an enchantment called ‘Topsy Turvy’, which forces everyone in the game to play their turn phases in reverse. For best results, pair with Reality Twist, so everyone’s lands produce the wrong color of mana.

Man there are SOOOO many expensive cards in built from scratch. When it came out, could buy that deck from Walmart for $20 knowing that you're guaranteed a $22 Wurmcoil Engine among other things.
Hmm. Isn't "Commander Sphere" redundant? You can only add mana to your pool if it's part of your Commander's color identity; that's part of the rules (Sjin's Cavern of Souls can't tap to add, say, blue mana). The card could just read "Add one mana of any color" and behave the same way.
Lewis that pentavus actually has NO defense vs olivia... the only place the card says sacrifice is to go back INTO the main card. Therefor you cannot use it to respond Sjin could have just taken it and you could do nothing about it.
The removal of the +1/+1 counter is part of the activation cost, so you can pay 1 generic mana and remove a +1/+1 counter until it either has no +1/+1 counters or you can't pay the mana cost anymore. So after it's taken the 1 damage, he could remove every +1/+1 counter on it when Olivia tries to take control of it, which gives it 0 toughness and goes to the graveyard making Olivia's ability not target anything anymore, so it fizzles.

Worldfire is actually banned in edh xD but that‘s one of the reasons I love home games so much! As long as it‘s fine with the table, you can play it anyway :3 And it was funny how Sjin just threatened to burn it all!

It's actually a real bloke from Sweden named Jens Thorén.
He won one of the Magic Invitationals back in the day and had the privilege of designing a magic card.
His face was also commemorated in the card itself.

Regular game: 20 life per player
Two-Headed Giant: 30 life shared (so 15 life each)
Commander: 40 life per player
Commander Two-Headed Giant: 60 life shared (so 30 life each)
But other than that, this was a joy to watch~

When my friends and I first started playing, we got so many rules wrong (due to awkward wording), but still had fun with our own version of Magic up to the point where we found the correct rules. - We still have fun.

Not really sure why you guys are playing this Two-Headed Giant, when EDH is actually ideally played with a pod of four players, anyways. Regardless, it's always exciting seeing you guys playing magic.

Normaly in commander you do start with 40 life! Also, what the hell is with unsleeved cards! Tom is only responsible person here!
multiplayer commander is played 40 life 1v1 commander and duel commander are both played 30. Seeing as this is a two headed giant game and two headed giant is played with live totals less than the sum of what its parts would be separated (3/4th in the base 2HG) technically this amalgamation format should have each player with 45 life.
Duncan and Lewis just pulled their decks from the collection on the table they arnt ones they used before so they just don’t have sleeves, sjin is a mad titan on thanos level, and Tom probably played his back in university on the regular and haven’t touched in a year or even many

The +1/+1 goes onto Olivia, not the creature you turn into a vampre, turns out you can't trust tom in either Magic or TTT
More like can't trust your ability to read cards. All of the vampires were getting +1/+1 because Stromkirk Captain gives it to them, and Tom didn't put a counter on Grimgrin if that's what you're thinking.
poor Duncan, not knowing he's not only getting one of the worst commanders from any of the cmdr products, but easly the worst deck from any of the cmdr products
