I was thinking the same thing...there is a LOT of areas they could have saved more weight than the badging....
All that interior fabric weighs a lot....look at it all in the back.....
You want to see a vehicle that saves weight, look at some of the hyper ferraris and lambos.....on some track cars you don't get glass, you get lexan...no interior panels...no flooring.....I mean, you have straps instead of door handles but you upholster the FLOOR......ummm...yeah.....
yes but this is still a street car. With the possibility to go on trackdays. You even get a free half cage into the interieur tbh.
if you want to go all out you can go buy a 911 cupcar. That means lexan everything. no carpets no nothing like a racecar because it is a racecar

The rotors are lifetime warranted. Rotor wear is minimal for street driving and designed to last the lifetime of the car.

If lifetime means about 100.000 miles street use, then yes...that being said, anyone not driving this car on a proper track now and then is an idiot. And there is definitely no warranty for killing your brakes on a rough track weekend.
They are known to wear quickly on the track however many porsche owners don't bother or switch to steels when time comes to replace them.
Wear and tear consumables are usually excluded from warranty terms. Warranty applies only if it fails due to manufacturing faults.

As a fan and owner of 911's, this is far and away my favorite video of yours, simply because of your reaction while driving. The pure joy and fun you're experiencing is so natural here.. so organic. THATS so real driving 911's. Nothing in the world compares. There may be cars faster, or that sound louder, or look more exotic. But nothing drives like a porsche. NOTHING. Doug said it best: " you feel like iron man in his suit: you WEAR this car." So true.

This has been a favorite of mine for the past 12 or so years, dating back to the GT3/RS with the Metzger power plant. For the 2017-2018 model year Porsche did not produce the RS, in for the U.S market, solely the GT3. However the 2017 GT3 was powered by the previous generation RS power-plant, with identical displacement, horsepower and torque figures and offered in a manual transmission. If you want the same power mated to a manual transmission and don’t care about the RS badging, the 2017/18 GT3 is the car I would purchase. Then again I would always feel slighted and perhaps jealous 6 months later when the 2018/19 GT3RS was released. Yes it has 20 more horsepower + 10 lb/ft of torque, enhanced styling and aerodynamics yet doesn’t offer a manual transmission, but does this warrant a nearly $44,000.00 price increase over the 2017/18 GT3. I’m just not sure. Not exactly a bad decision to face! Nonetheless, both amazing, spirited and driver oriented cars. Still my dream automobile.

Last time I went tracking there was 3 GT3 (Quebec, Mont-Tremblant Circuit). I got my ass kicked from and old dude while tracking an Aventador. Had at least 10 seconds over me after 20 laps.

Porsche is known for their outlandish prices on vehicle options, with not too many options on a base car. So you're forced to buy a lot of stuff if you want all the bells and whistles. A rear wiper delete for the 911 is about $400.
Probably the reason they have the highest profit margin per-car compared to other luxury brands and even the VW Group's non-luxury brands - at about $23k/car, or 18%
Go play around on Porshes online configuration on their website. $45k isn't even a lot, I could easily get over $75k

A Honda S2000 is similar to a motorcycle as well... not as fast or in the same price range/class compared to a 911 but still like a motorcycle... even sounds like one.

I’m glad I watched this video 3 years ago. I was a looter at multiple riots this past week. I brought my pick up truck and stole wheels from cars and police cars. I also saw 911 gt3 like this one but I remembered I needed a special tool to get those Center lock wheels off. I got the tool and was able to get the wheels. Thanks doug!

it's not about being faster, it's about driver engagement. that's why the 2013 model is the best still
the 911r is about "driver engagement" the RS models are about going as fast as possible.

I've recently gotten to know the owner of Exclusive Option and they guy is awesome. He owns a Gallardo, Supercharged 911, Turbo Charged 2007 Caymen, and a sick muted gray Spyder which basically has the interior of a 918. He's a really awesome guy and if you are in the market for a SICK interior he can hook you up. (I was not told to do this, but just think he is an awesome guy with some real talent)

My first time in a super car was a GT3 RS. My boss at Honda World in SLC, Utah had bought one and took me for a spin. I had the EXACT same reaction as your passenger. I was laughing because it's so amazing, but I was losing my breath because it's so powerful. Laughing while doing a 0 to 120 pull is very hard.
