Bringing Our Baby Home to The Remote Alaskan Cabin

- Henry is 2 weeks old, Becca has been cleared by the surgeon, and the cabin awaits!
Our plans and preparations are finally coming together for the big event of bringing our newborn baby home to the cabin.
We started off by heading to our future homestead property between snowstorms to get about 2 weeks worth of snow cleared. The area overall had over a foot of snowfall while we were in town. Then between Saturday and Wednesday, we got even more snow! Luckily, it settled to around 6" so we can hold off on plowing it for now. Thank goodness for the tractor though!
Wednesday we packed up and headed for home. The sled was loaded down, the snowmachine warmed up, and the baby bundled up! Levi and his Dad got the rest of our stuff on some later trips after Henry was safely cuddled up by the wood stove.
We are over the moon to be home with our precious son and are deeply enjoying settling back into our normal lives.
Thank you to everyone sticking with us through this rather different winter in Alaska and stay tuned as we continue to get back into things!

Wow! You two did a fantastic job of welcoming Henry home. I love how your husband dresses you all nice and warm. I am glad you have family around you to help with all the first-time mom and dad questions. The little man is so awake in the cabin. I think I saw a smile. I give peope prompts who can live this lifestyle. Cause i could not cause be worried about going to drs or hospital in time . No electricity at times . If do your on own gardening or food or drinks growing. That after a while need to get something and cant cause not near places . Anyhow good for them . Glad they all keeping warm

Nice nice name for him . Hopefully you have warm blankents or heaters etc etc . Must be hard to order stuff online and be ship to you all . Or when going places and want to take stuff home prob hard . Cute cute dog . I be bit leary walking or having the dog walk and the snow from thr trees if heavy fall on you or snow sheds etc etc

I thought about moving to Alaska when I retire. But my nieces made some very strong arguments against it. They don't want me living remotely on one side of the country when they are on the east coast. So I compromised and picked wv. They still want me in NC but are ok me moving to wv in a couple of years. Baby is adorable!

I am from North Central Minnesota, so I understand about the cold weather and snow although we have not had any significant snow nor the usual cold temps, which is very unusual. You received the best Christmas present for sure. I have been to Juneau, Alaska.

@susannewhirley8709 Levi was born in an old farmhouse on County Line Rd in Monument, right off the interstate! I was born and raised in Castle Rock and we lived together in Florissant, CO for years before moving to Alaska. Small world!!

He is adorable and I am glad you made it home safely! We are expecting a cold spell here in the upper Peninsula of Michigan but we only have about an inch of snow!

What a sweet baby and dog 🐾♥️ I had sections with all 3 of my babies. Each one is easier really 👍. My first, I was in 6 days. Second I was in 4 days and my last baby I was home in 2
- still had to be careful. Had to do stairs on my bum 😂 My incision was navel down. First time was labor all weekend so emergency section then they just did the same spot to lessen the amounts of scars. All the best to your little family and ♥️♥️ In a cabin ♥️♥️

And we r looking for a sm house maybe down south just like the warmer weather being in our 40s we did own 3 house sold them to take a yr off and travel in our new rv it was awesome now were ready to get in a sm house.
