  • While Becca and Henry stick around the cabin, Levi and his Dad take the new Skidoo Skandic snowmachines off the trail to explore the area a little better! Anyone in Alaska will tell you that winter is the best because you can hop on a snowmachine and go wherever you want. They were not wrong!
We have a lot to learn on these new snowmachines and this day was a big step in figuring out how to navigate the water, ice, and forests, as well as to learn how to better run the machines.
The video definitely won't do some of the terrain justice but there is also enough snow around us right now for a perfect learning environment. The machines are heavy so you don't want to sink one but at a slow pace it is a fairly safe sport.
Our Alaskan creeks are still not frozen all the way across and at this point, we don't know if they will freeze all the way. There is a lot of overflow from the weather earlier this year that you have to keep an eye out for as well!
This video was done mainly on our GoPro and I'd like to give a shoutout to Levi for filming the whole thing himself and letting Henry and me take a week off from filming!
Stay tuned as winter carries on out at our little cabin and plans continue for the spring breakup and work out on the homestead!

Good morning my beautiful friend! What a beautiful ride! We got snow yesterday in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I think we have about 5 or 6 inches now. Some nice neighbor pulled into a driveway and plowed it this morning while we were eating breakfast. It was such a blessing! They left before we could even say thank you! We are suppose to have single digits temps for a few days and into the negative overnight for a few days then it is suppose to go back to the 20's and 30's. The weather here has been really weird according to the locals. and a lot of records for high temps have been broke this year!

At first I thought those flat open spaces was frozen lakes but then I saw trees sticking up here and there. What are they? Good job on the camera work Levi 👍 Becca and Henry, stay safe and warm 😊🙏
