    That’s awesome! I’ve always wanted a SxS or ATV with tracks, but have a snowbike, so it’ll have to wait. Had a Rhino 660 with tracks at work, and that thing would go just about anywhere.

      YES , THERE IS STILL A LEARNING CURVE ALWAYS ,, THESE QUADS WILL GO PLACES , LIMITS ARE STEEPNESS WHERE SLED GO IN THE HIGH BACK COUNTRY ,, , NOT AS A BIG LEARNING CURVE AS A SLED BECAUSE YOU DO NOT USE YOUR WEIGHT TO CONTROL MACHINE ,, ONE OF THE BIGGEST LEARING CURVE FOR QUADS IS WHEN CLIMBING AND EITHER YOU LOOSE MOMENTUM OR START TO SPIN OUT , STOP AND BACK ,, HIT THE SAME PATH AGAIN ,,, INSTEAD OF SPINNING IT DOWN AND GETTING IT STUCK , BUT IF YOU GET IT STUCK THERE IS A EASY TRICK TO GET THEM OUT , YOU CAN MOSTLY GO WHERE A SLED GOES BUT ALL OF THIS IS ON ONE CONDTION , SIZE OF MACHINE , KIND OF TRACKS AND A BIT OF COMMON SENSE

      No it is not investing in two off road machines one to maintain and one to store. You can also pack tons more with a tracked ATV than you can on a sled. You also do not have to be heard three valleys away because your engine is screaming cause you try to mark a hill. There are places that are better for sleds and many better for atv with tracks. Two different worlds but both on snow

    • @1935ADED

    • @bcpioneer59
      @bcpioneer59 Před 3 lety +1

      @@YellowVtec 90% of outdoor enthusiast like hunters fishermen and campers already own a ATV or UTV that they can use 365 days a year, but limited for sure by deep snow, unlike a sled good for the winter time and stored the rest of the year, no money value used there. You also do not need 800 or 1000 cc machine, not everyone is buying Brand new either just like sledders do not buy brand new every year either. I have ridden with lots of people with tracks on as small as a 300 Honda, not a problem, but they are slow, no question. So again you do not need a $20,000 new atv and new tracks, just like you do not need top of the line sled new every year, and if you are foolish enough to spend that kind of money someone will be glad to buy your used sled cheap from you

    • @YellowVtec

      You absolutely have to do it. You can’t put into words just how incredibly beautiful and awesome the scenery is out riding through the woods. Check out Pittsburg New Hampshire. It’s just under the Canadian boarder. Rent a nice cabin on one of the Lakes that has access to trails. Louis at Trail Side Rentals is the way to go. Awesome guy. Wait until February. We usually go around Valentine’s Day. Get a trail map and check out some of the POI around the area. Trail side rentals should be able to hook you up with a guide but it’s not necessary. Have fun. yes they would work for that kind of thing ,, i have outfitted all of the local trappers and large ranchers for the same tye of reasons ,, they are easy to swap back to tires , on tracks they pull a sleigh nice , we pulled a 300 puond propane tank ( tank was about 4 1/2 ft tall and 3 feet across ) on a sleigh into a remote cabin , freind tryed with snow machine long track made it about one mile , we hocked up and had to try to remeber that we had somthing on behind , on the real steep hills we had to hock 2 machines together ,

    The rule of life for machines: If you double the speed, you cut the life in half. If you double the load you cut the life by a factor of 8. Your machines are designed for 4 wheels, not 4 tracks. Enjoy, while you can but, don't bet your life on it.

      @@windyview64 For me track kits start at $5000. I just can't see the logic in justifying such a purchase unless you live in 6 months of snow (which I do) and REALLY REALLY don't wanna have more then 1 machine around. It makes more sense in that case to just spend 5k on a good used snowmobile. They are infinitely more efficient in snow. They are allowed to go on groomed trails. Just all around more fun. I have always had both a snowmobile and a ATV. Maybe in the south where you get short winters it might come in useful but then in the south most of the time just good tires and 4x4 will get you through anything. Tracks just seem like more of a novelty then anything. Or like I said before if you REALLY only wanna have 1 machine around.
