    Thank you for the review. I really enjoy seeing and hearing reviews that are not paid promotional ones from the factorys. This was very helpful and informative. I have been wanting to get a set of tracks for years but never felt that a track system could handle the snow depth where I live. Thank you again.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 5 lety

      Thanks Michael Kirby Guy. Tracks are amazing whether you get the 4 season type or the Backcountry tracks. Both tracks can handle some serious snow depth. Where I ride the snow depth runs between 3 to 8 ft & tracks can "Float" across that like it nothing. HOWEVER, depending on the "Snow Conditions", they can also get stuck, but, so do snowmobiles, so ....
      Anyway, glad you enjoyed the video and if you do get set of tracks I think you'll enjoy them. Thanks for check'in out the video too ... it's much appreciated !!

    I must have missed a few episodes....new tracks ? new helmet ? Drone shots !! someone else holding the camera ! Looking great my friend...next level stuff

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 6 lety

      Yup, you have missed about 14 episodes ... just say'in .... HAHAHAHAHA !!! Nope on the helmet. I've had that helmet for several years. Only use it in the winter of course. Nope, no one holding a camera, I'm using a Soloshot 3 camera. It works pretty good, but I have had some issues with it. But when it works, it's pretty sweet. (You should check out some of this past winter riding vids to see what I mean)
      Yup, I bought one drone (HALO) & it worked pretty good, but I couldn't get the camera to work per the instructions. I think I have it figured out, but haven't flow since my last ride.
      Then I bought a STAAKER drone & I love this drone. Easy to use & tracks me really good.
      Glad you enjoyed the video CAP Guy, and THANKS for watch'in too ... it's much appreciated !!!

    Another great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts on these tracks, I am not a Can am fan so unless I buy another can am I guess they are not in my future . What is the cost of these tracks from a dealer in your area ?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 6 lety +1

      Why THANK YOU Mike !! I've had real good luck with my Can-Am's & this is my second one. I had real good luck with my Grizzly before the Can-Am's too.
      Well, I'm in pretty good with my dealer, so when I ordered these, he made me a killer deal. Not sure he would do that with anyone else. I'm also not going to say how much I paid, let's just say, it was more than I would of liked to have spent, but less than what BRP lists them for. And then I bought four sets of bogies wheels for the rear tracks & two sets of ice scratchers for when I'm on hard pack snow. Which makes them cost even more .... sigh ... and don't tell the wife, OK !!!
      Anyway, glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate you taking the time to check it out !!! THANKS !!!

    Hey Gunny, we love your videos! We run 3 big bore Outlanders w/ BC tracks in Vermont, and we were wondering how you modified your floorboards to allow for a quick belt change in the field. We haven't had one break yet, but we're due! any pics of that mod would be awesome.

    Enjoyed your video and review. I agree the tracks are awesome and nobody with other tracks can climb in powder like I can. I am the only one that runs these tracks and cannot find out if anybody is having trouble with front lower A frames. Have you heard of any issues? Thanks

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 6 lety

      Thanks Denis Guy, glad you enjoyed the video. Like you, I'm the only guy in my area to run the Backcountry Tracks too. Matter of fact, I've had tracks for 10 seasons now & I have yet to see another tracked ATV out in the snow. I use to ride with a guy, but he disappeared. And I have a friend who comes out from Kansas around Christmas time, but other than that, I have the entire area to myself ... unless a sledder comes by ... WOO HOO !!
      Nope, I haven't heard of anyone having any issues with these tracks. And you're the first guy I know of that also has a set of the Backcountry Tracks, so nope, I haven't heard of anyone or or of any issues with the Backcountry's so far.
      Again, glad you enjoyed the video and THANKS for check'in it out !!

    Thanks for adding this review. Last year I sold my Grizzly 550 with Tatou Tracks and plow blade. I loved that rig and did a lot of backcountry riding. I even had a chance to do a trip to a backcountry forest service cabin. When I went out to it, I pulled my extra gear on my dump bed wheeled trailer. The system worked great. I got stuck a couple times, but because I was near trees, I used my winch to get unstuck. Never have I had that option on a snowmobile. Anyway, I have been wondering how these new Apache Backcountry tracks compare to Tatous and your video has sold me on them. I do have one concern: I need to use my rig to plow my driveway and I am concerned about how these tracks will do on gravel and asphalt as I plow them. I use my Tatous all through mud season, riding on rocks and mud until it was dry enough for the switch back to tires. How do you find these new tracks on minimal snow? What makes them less 4 season than Tatou's? Is it that the paddles will wear down? Or maybe the lack of bogie wheels? Thank you so much for the info. Can Am should comp you on your next upgrade.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 6 lety

      Hey there Perry Solheim Guy, How Goes The Battle ?? I use to own a Grizzly 660 myself. Great machine.
      Well, I hate to turn you away from the Apache Backcountry Tracks, but now way would I plow snow with these tracks. I bought a snowblower to remove the snow from around the house now. I too use to plow snow when I had the Tatou Tracks & also would ride in some dirt, mud & rocks. But I sure wouldn't recommend doing that with the Backcountry Tracks. It would just wear the 2 inch tall paddles down & melt the hyfax.
      4 season tracks, as you know, have a lot of bogie wheels which keeps the rubber track from rubbing on the track hyfax. The Backcountry Tracks "Ride" on the Hyfax same as a snowmobile. They need the snow to keep the hyfax lubricated and cool. Otherwise, they heat up & melt.
      Therefore, for you, if you want to continue riding in the conditions you mentioned, I would again get a 4 season track system.

      @perrysolheim1247 Před 6 lety

      Thanks for the reply, sorry I didn't catch it earlier. Just seeing these new Backcountry tracks in action makes me want to forget about needing to plow. I'll have to figure out another way to plow, I just dig what these tracks can do. It makes me wonder how they would do on a Can Am X3 Turbo 1000 cc, 172 HP side by side? that could be a great backcountry ski shuttle, like a fast snowcat. I need to look up the weight difference on the X3 vs an Outlander 1000.

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 6 lety

      No worries Solheim Guy ... as far as plowing snow, do like I did & a buy a snow blower ... not as fun, but it gets the job done ... WOO HOO !!!
      I know as of right now, the Backcountry Tracks are for the Outlander & Renegade only ... HOWEVER, not long ago, I did see a photo of a Maverick X3 with a set of Backcountry Tracks bolted on ... And it looked BADASS !!!

    Do 360 LT throw much snow up for the rider ? If yes can we get something to block it ?
    Some guys say the Camso 4S1 don't throw as much as the 360 is this true ?
    Love the video

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 5 lety

      It depends a lot on the snow (soft & powdery) and the wind ... so I'm gonna say, Yes, you will get snow on you with the 360 LT Tracks, but maybe not as much as the Backcountry Tracks. Check out my video titled Can-Am 800 with Tracks-A Snowy Day Track Ride - 04 Feb 2014. And then go to about the 10:17 mark & you'll see the snow coming up & being blown onto me & the ATV.
      With the Backcountry Tracks I made some 5 inch wide fender extenders that I attach to the fender extensions that Can-Am sells for mud .. which don't really work to good, but look nice. I think the ones I made out of semi heavy plastic stuff used for heavy truck mud flaps work pretty good really, again, depending on the snow & wind. You can see them pretty good if you go to the video Apache Backcountry Track Mounting Bracket Install and then go to the 22:17 minute mark. Now, having said all that, the Backcountry Tracks, because of the way the front tracks are made (Angle of the backside of the tracks & the 2 inch paddles) throw a lot of snow .... But I don't mind it.
      Thanks for watch'in this video and PRAY FOR SNOW !!!

    What is your experience with running the Apache Backcountry‘s on pavement? I‘m not talking miles on end - my machine is parked in a village about a mile away from the trailhead. At the beginning of the season, it is more difficult to find a backcountry route to the trailhead that has sufficient snow, so riding about a mile on pavement is the best option. The dealer told me that it should not be a problem as long as I go slow. What is your experience?

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 3 lety

      Hey Michael Bechauf Guy ... Thanks for stopp'in in to check out the video. About your question, I have to ride my machine on my cement driveway to get it into the back of the truck & now into a trailer. So I haven't done a lot of hard pavement riding. IMO, I agree with your dealer. I see sledders ride asphalt all the time, so if you ride slow, it should be OK. I do think the track paddles will wear ... the little numbs on each paddle, but I guess that's a price a guy would have to make in your area. One mile each way is a long ways to me ... I'm glad I don't have to make that decision. PRAY FOR SNOW!!!!

  • @hunterextremist
    @hunterextremist Před 2 lety

    Would you plow snow with the Apache backcountry? Drive way? We have alot of snow northern N.B Canada

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 2 lety

      Personally, I wouldn't plow my driveway with the Backcountry Tracks on. I'm sure the 2 inch paddles are strong enough, but plowing, if you're on cement or asphalt, would wear them down I'm sure. When I bought the Backcountry Tracks, I also bought a snowblower. I can tell you, the snowblower is not as fun to operate as the Can-Am with a plow.

      Nope, the Backcountry Tracks are for Can-Am Outlander & Renegade G2 ATV's only.

    Hi Gunny what's your thoughts on the gas mileage for these tracks compared to tire ? Getting my set in a week

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 5 lety

      Alrighty ... I think you're gonna LOVE your new Backcountry Tracks Glen !!! As far as gas mileage .... never leave home without extra fuel onboard, SAVVY !!! To be honest, I never look at gas mileage whether I'm running tires or tracks. HOWEVER, the other day I was up tracking in a combination of hardpack trail, deep powder wide open throttle, going thru trees, etc, just having a great day. When I got back to the truck my gas light on the dash was on (had been for a while) & I had ridden 32 or 35 miles. I always carry 6 extra gals in Roto Paks so if I want, I can stay out longer & do more playing around. The furthest I've tracked in one day of tracking was 53 miles & I believed I used 7 gals & had fuel in the tank when I got back to the truck.
      Hope you enjoyed this video and feel free to watch any of my other video's too .......... WHAT !?!? .... HAHAHAHA !!! And THANKS for check'in the video out !!!

    How are the tracks when you hit Dry pavement

    • @GunnyE9
      @GunnyE9  Před 5 lety

      I don't hit the dirt with these tracks. They have sliders or Hifax's like a sled, so they need snow or moisture to run cool or the Hifax will melt & stick to the tracks clips (glides). I may go across dirt or pavement for a short distance, say, 100 ft or so, slowly, but no way would I run very long on dirt or pavement with these tracks. Thanks for check'in out the video !!
