And Adaribioyo. Between those two filling home grown player positions, City should probably only add one CB and sell on Otamendi and Stones
Samuel Griffin. Tosin is definitely not good enough, yet Eric Garcia and Harwood Bellis could be. Otamendi should be sold, but Stones shouldnât be as heâs proven he can be top when he plays well.

@@joeactivefeel4898 Stones is flat out worse than Otamendi. Neither are good enough to start for a team challenging for titles. Also Adarabioyo had a phenomenal season for Blackburn in the Championship. He's years ahead of Harwood-Bellis in skilll and physical development.

What about Nathan Ake? He's young, fast, strong,and very good with the ball at his feet. He has proven himself time and time again in the premier League.
Ake isn't tall (he's under 6'), he's a good jumper. He's also left footed which is counterproductive because Laporte is the first choice on that side.

Its UEFA we're talking about. I highly doubt city is actually gonna face the ban. As they already challenged the ban they probably will have to pay a fine of 50000 euros or something along that line
Money talks. Younger players are willing to sacrifice UCL football in order to earn very high wage bills and challenge for domestic trophies.
Mag Rhino youâre funny. You should look at the facts before commenting about wage bills. City pay nowhere near the highest wages, United for example pay waaay more. The reason players come in is to play with some of the best players in the world for one of the best coaches in the world, and to win trophies. Therefore, you donât have to pay as much in wages because itâs not all about money

Stones is honestly so bad. Theres no future for him in this team if Pep/City want to continue playing a high line without Fernandinho screening. The last thing they need is another great ball playing defender that is garbage at defending.
Skriniar is a good player himself but switching from a Conte back 3 to a Guardiola 4 is not always a guarantee that the player will perform. Inigo Martinez and Calgar Soyuncu are good defenders also but due to the clubs they come from Man City would have to pay a huge premium

Pep made a big mistake by not buying a cb last year when kompany went away. Whenever one of your best players leave the team the first thing you're supposed to do is find a replacement which pep didn't do.
What you really ideally should have is a 23 year old already at the club ready to go as a replacement. They tried that with stones but he floped

@array s it's called adaptation. Cancelo overall is better than Walker, but at the moment Walker is more accustomed to Pep's tactics. Pep wants to introduce Cancelo slowly, as he did it with Mahrez last year. And now Mahrez is one of the best City's and PL's players, almost as good as KDB. So I believe that same will be with Cancelo next season

as a Internacional supporter, I was surprised yet happy to see Bruno Fuchs on this video! as you guys said, he is a young prospect who is already a great defender, but has a few things to improve before being able to play in a team such as man city. Mancity may not have signed any of those picks. But they did get some wonderful defenders. And even the ones in the team picked up form.

Tbh in my opinion LCFC are doing exactly what they need to. The crop of youngsters there is exceptional. They have a good manager, a strong back room set up, and good ownership. Thereâs not much they can do obviously to accelerate atm. Very impressive club. - Alex

He isn't good enough to play in Guardiola's sophisticated and modern system. Guardiola wants 11 midfielders on the pitch, not limited specialists like Aguero.

Ahmed Ali boy youâre talking about RB Leipzig. You know they can sell a âprosperous youngsterâ to Salzburg for whatever they need if they have to go around ffp? And money will never ever be a problem for them, they said that they aim to not break any transfer records, but thatâs about it. If the player is young and good enough, there is nothing stopping them.
A defender is what we really need, midfield and attack are up there with the top but its obvious that our defence has been a let down so a good solid CB would improve things drastically, Walker is good going forward and does his job defensively too, while I think Mendy is great on his in top fitness but that's been rare and Zinchenko is a good solution but nothing long term. Upamecano would be a massive improvement, him and Laporte as the duo CBs would give us height and strength when it comes to crosses and corners, something which we've been lacking.
One of the big things that will dictate which centre back Pep would like is the favoured foot as he desires a right footed (on right side) and left footed (on left side) centre back. I'd have thought he would want a high class right footed centre back, which could have been considered.

Laporte is already one of the best CBs in the world.. He was 2nd best last season with only VVD ahead of him.

I would say have a look at Nico Elvedi. Heâs tall, decently quick, good under pressure and has demonstrated development in his leadership qualities at Gladbach. Would be a great signing for any top European side
As soon as they buy a word class defender then they are good to go. People this season are undermining city because they are very very bad at defending. if they can offload some defenders and buy 2 cb they will be challenging for every trophy. They will have the best defense because they will have a world class cb with fucking laporte( who is already one of the best defender in world). Watch out liverpool.
Exactly. Its never as bad as it sounds. People forget they accumulated 198 points in 2 season. 4 trophies in a year in England, unprecedented. People should start to show some respect for what Guardiola has done.

Man City also need a plan B striker. Both Aguero and Jesus are the same type of players. They need a big, strong and burley striker like Giroud or Mandzukic type. However, this striker needs to realize his role in the team. Just a plan B striker who only to be thrown in the pitch if plan A didn't work out. That is quite hard to find. Maybe Negredo or Dzeko could consider this role since they are already past their prime and also their connection to the club.
There will be a lot of clubs shopping for quality CB.
Teams like City and Barcelona require very specific type of CB. Besides the usually attributes, they need to be fast and good on the ball. A rare combination of qualities at premium price. I think Pep would choose to go with more experience defender to partner Laporte.

Assuming Pep will continue using a back-four with two central defenders, it would suit Skriniar even more. If you compare Skriniars last two seasons with this current one, where he played in a four-man defense with two CB rather then now (353), I would say he displayed much better performances. I would also say that he was tested by the opposition a lot more times during games pre-Conte and pre-352. Therefore i would believe you'll both find his defensive and offensive numbers/statistics much greater.

Laporte is one of the best CBâs in the world. And saying his had significant fitness issues since his move tomCity is also misleading. Heâs had 1 injury. Didnât miss any games his first 2 seasons.

The primary issue of CB in Manchester City exists because they prioritized replacing Fernandinho(who still had a season left) rather than finding a replacement for Vincent Kompany. Perhaps the higher ups felt that they've spent too much on centrebacks only for them not to repay the faith
