One of the best videos for Suryanamaskar beginners… first round is training followed by 11 rounds with mantras. The pace is perfect with a reminder for each round and the voice is so soothing to the ears and soul. Thank you for this 🙏🏻

Hi Bharti ji, I have knee pain (not severe but to small extent). Can I practice Suryanamaskar as it involves major part with knees? Please let me know.

Hi Jhanvi, yes Surya Namaskar can put some pressure on the knees. You can take the following precautions :
☀️Not locking the knees
Do lot lock the knees (hyper extension) in any pose as it can cause knee pain. This tends to happen while bending forward in Padahastasna. Have a micro bend in the knees while folding forward.
☀️Not putting pressure on the Knees
Do not put too much pressure on the knees specially in Ashwa Sanchalanasana - the front knee is stacked above the ankle. Avoid putting pressure on the back knee by keeping the tail bone tucked in and extending up from the spine. You can keep a folded blanket midway on the mat to have some padding for the knees.
