In a Minute - Volvo 262C

For the fourth episode, we look over Volvo's obscure attempt to create an American personal luxury car as per the likes of the Lincoln Mark IV, the resultant 262C being something of an oddity that, while not failing commercially, has a mixed reception among enthusiasts for its strange looks, unusual premise and general rarity.

I was living in Puerto Rico at the time these came out, and some of our most famous athtletes at the time had these. It was a very beautiful car and today it is a Volvo collectible. The low roof gives it a distinctive and distinguished look.

Always loved the 262C. But, i am so sad that they halted the development of the 242GTC (if i remember the typing correctly).
It would have been a 242C pretty much, with a more powerful powerline than the run of the mill 240, but less extravagant than the 262C, thus ending up somewhere in between in the price bracket.
