Across continents and decades, five brilliant friends make earth-shattering discoveries as the laws of science unravel and an existential threat emerges. - Zábava
Zine captures Ye Wenjie's rage at humanity perfectly
Briliant move to introduce sophon early on rather than it being just dropped in a bit later, working in hindsight really helps the project
Zine Tseng puts in a stellar performance, also has a serious case of RBF which works for the role.
zine is still in character lol
She totally is!!
It’s really brilliant to introduce Thomas Wade in season one
My favorite shot this episode was that 3-4 seconds where she is looking out at the mongolian landscape and purple sunrise contemplating the decision (maybe also remembering the destruction of nature in that area) both because the weight of the decision and the vastness of the landscape matching that, at least thats the emotion I got.
ZINE TSENG RULEZ! GO ZINE! PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR!
Love all these characters. They're more connected to each other than in the original books. Very smart adaptation! I'm so excited!
they are completely different characters than in the book (1 singular scientist is replaced by 5 almost teenagers basically), I seriously can not take that Riley Reid porno star looking "actress" as a top scientist seriously. Also DD really can't resist making some lame sex joke every 5 minutes huh.
This show only confirms that GoT was only succesfull because George RR Martin was heavily working on the show with DD. While with this DD are just doing whatever they want and Liu Cixin doesn't care as long as he gets his pay-check. This will be canceled in 2 weeks because nobody is watching it.
You mean making Ye Wen Jie an easy Asian wh*re sleeping with anyone she could find and zero character development depth basically for all characters and re-shuffling all the characters role within the Oxford 5 and skipping out all the key part of the original story line?
I am just gonna watch the visual effect part and skip everything, not wasting my 7+ hours time of total plot Rubbish
@@kaisiangtey8964jesus this troll is literally in every comment section
@@noizz4 this is exactly how pissed I am about how D&D screwed up the Novel that I love.
Ask those GoT fans how they felt about the last 2 seasons - "Dany KINDA FORGOT about the Iron Fleet"???
D&D kinda forgot about the whole bloody 3BD trilogy
@@kaisiangtey8964 You're just a f*cking incel with noc brain cells. No one cares about your misogynistic rants
Zine is a phenomenal actress!
I'm completely in love with the show! Can't wait to find out more in the coming seasons!
Zine tseng ate
I have definitely enjoyed this show quite a bit. Great job!
This is definitely more easy to swollen than the book.
Not very good at reading huh? Or indeed spelling.
@@entropyalwaysincreases.6867As long as one can understand the meaning in a sentence its fine. You never know if anyone is a native english speaker. Spellcheckers like you can be very obnoxious to see anywhere. He could be chinese and read the original book instead of the translated one. Assuming hes illiterate because he cant form a proper english sentence is stupid.
@@entropyalwaysincreases.6867 Come on guy. Why get so butt hurt over someone preferring a adaptation? Just seems silly to me.
@@entropyalwaysincreases.6867instead of insulting someone, try giving your thoughts on the show. You might enlighten them with your great wisdom
Sifu ~~ finally get to see you here in the series , other than Marco Polo ~
And Benedict Wong too!
@@einsam_aber_frei oh yeah the Kublai Khan
I loved the series. Although I haven’t seen the Chinese version apparently it’s much longer and a more literal adaptation.
I find it unfortunate that Netflix decided to dump all episodes at the same time. I feel it dilutes the series value, preventing discussion, theorizing and hype to build up. Oh well…
That’s true. I l do like binge watching, but they could have dump it one by one.
I like the opportunity to binge. But I would have gladly and anxiously waiting for each episode drop. Glad I didnt have to.
I caught covid a few weeks. Came across it because I was told by it from my brother.
I, for one, was happy it was all out lol
Very impressed with the show compared to the book - definitely achieved the objective of making the story and science a lot more accessible to a general audience, while still respecting the chinese history aspect of the story.
I would definitely push the button.
只緣身在此山中 🧘
Not gonna lie, I would do the same as she did 😅 answered
In hindsight I wouldn’t push that button without spoiling you that button push caused A LOT of stuff to happen
@@Juan-THENIGHTLORD I spoiled myself of future events(I don't regret it) and I just want to say its actually scary to think if our own irl universe is a dark forest.
No way would I push the button! I'm too into science fiction. I hope for "Star Trek" but fear "Alien". With my luck.....no way...lol
6:23 very weird to see her being altered, like speed up, re-cut. Like she's a miss functioning android.
Honestly as a reader I feel that Ye Wenjie's anguish in the series did not resonate as strongly as I'd like it to. The culmination of all the misfortune, injustice, and betrayal in her life leads up to that moment where she loses faith in all humanity and decides to press that button. Because of how sped-up episode 2 went, that moment did not feel earned, well not as much as it did in the book.
It might not have come across as strongly on the screen, but the more you think about it, the more you sympathize with her decision.
I wish there was more romance scenes with Jack at least to me, he came off quite useless and vestigial... given his later on role.. I dunno if I'd feel justified having him
Too much information in the book, no time for romance.
@@zhongxingjin846 He does nothing in the show just mopes around we could have had 3-4 scenes of him doing more romancing , more action
I never had expectations for Netflix, 8 episodes watched, full of prejudice against China, white men saving evil Asian women, extremely simplified story, no science knowledge, split the main characters into 5 Dr. Oxfords, no emotion in the characters, can't bring in the characters.
I recommend you guys to watch the Chinese Tencent version of Trisomy 2023 TV series.
The main characters aren’t split into different people. They are bringing characters from books 2 and 3 into the beginning
I’m from Hong Kong and I like this show very much. There is nothing prejudice about Chinese at all. There’s no such thing as saving “evil Asian women”. Jin is an Asian woman and she is the main character who is saving the world. So why is your heart so brittle like glass?
I disagree. I think the Chinese scenes are actually the strongest in the show.
shit drama
You are what you eat.
@@einsam_aber_frei shit person watch shit drama. lol
I watched half of the first episode & it’s jam packed with extremely unlikable characters, how does Eiza Gonzalez keep getting work 💀
Weinstein is not the only guy of that kind in the Netflix/Hollywood Industry.
She is beautiful and awesome. I don’t know why you don’t like her?
@@einsam_aber_frei She’s just a shit actress 💀
Because she’s attractive and her casting was demanded in the negotiations with Netflix. She’s bffs with someone important involved in acquiring the rights
It's super weird how much roles she currently gets.
Also look up her pre surgery, like a completely different person. I wonder if that's how it all started.
when comes the SeasonII !CAN NOT WAIT
