Across continents and decades, five brilliant friends make earth-shattering discoveries as the laws of science unravel and an existential threat emerges. - Zábava
Will and Jin's conversation at the hospital was lovely and heartbreaking
For me that was the most powerful scene in the series.
It was also scary and unsettling, I wouldn't want to hear all that about what could happen
Very much. Couldn't hold the tears in.
San-Ti: "You are Bugs!"
Ye Wenjie: "Better Call Saul!"
😂
I was crying for Tianming in the book and I cried for Will in the show. The scene where he's seating in the boat was beautifully done.
It's much more well-written in the show imo. Writing relationships (or women tbh) has always been Liu Cixin's weakness, and in the book, Cheng Xin barely knows Tianming, and the whole relationships come off as a little bit contrived. Making the two of them good friends from the beginning makes their relationship much more organic.
@@tangrunhuaI agree. I feel like the show did what Cixin Liu wanted to do but he didn’t have the ability to write a convincing romantic relationship or fully fledged female characters.
@@tangrunhua in the show, Tianming had a one sided love for Cheng Xin and she just couldn't return his feelings/love back. Whereas in the show they made them Ex lovers who are "friends" and so it make the whole relationship feel more deep and touching in the show.
he has meta commentary on this in “the wandering earth” book
@stephyworld8713 ..wait..could you rephrase that? They never dated in the show, so they weren't exes. It was one sided
This is by far the most emotional episode. All the characters set up from previous episodes finally paid off. I love all the character driven elements you are able to pull off the 3 body universes, reiterate and enhance from the original novel which is more plot focused.
Will broke my heart the most. I loved his character.
Variety has rated it as the number 1 show of the week with 1.6 billion minutes viewed. I hope season 2 will start production soon. Thanks Netflix!!
I'm afraid it's not enough of a hit for Netflix. For this kind of budget they were really hoping for a Stranger Things kind of audience.
Holy crap! So that was young Vera in the game
That goldfish...
The most surprising character for me is Tatiana. I really like her inclusion being a combination of several different characters in the books. I can't wait to see her again in season 2.
She's probably not going to be a Wallbreaker. I don't think she's educated enough, but she's definitely going to be the face of ETO.
In a moment I thought Ye might take Tatiana with her to death.😂
@@tangrunhuashe is definitely a wallbreaker.
@@ChaoLiu36I was hoping she would drag her off that cliff with her
@@ChaoLiu36Same. I really wanted that to happen.
At last, a great scifi movie after a long time
You can’t be srs 😂 mediocre at best
@@kaydens6964 It was riveting I was so thankful between each episode that a Binge watched that I get to have such a good sci fi movie.
@weareparamore1597 Right?
I just couldn't stop watching it episode after episode till the season was over!
And they don't do that cheap trick like in bates motel where something interesting only happens at the end of the episode and you want to know what happens next, here they do it right and the good stuff happens throughout the episode.
Dune Part 1 & 2
Will's love for Jin was truly amazing and unique, I cried a shitton seeing it unfold.
Weird coincidence: in this episode, they show a copy of the children’s book The Wind Singer, by William Nicholson. They also mention C S Lewis, who was famously portrayed in the film Shadowlands, written by… William Nicholson.
the song is so beautiful
Let's have a 4K release too!
It gets exciting
Will there be second season?
Okay okay, huh, these guys actually admitting that they had ideas that they thought were dumb so they consulted experts. Perhaps they learned some things from their epic failure at the end of Game of thrones
It won the Emmy for best drama award in its final season and they had to do it based on unwritten novels. I don't get all the haters and it has been over 5 years.
@@chasspeedthey can't get over it. Still mad 5 years later 😂
@chasspeed we're not hating we're just still mad lol. But honestly, they did well on this show. 👏
When it comes to adapting a season with source material, they were really good.
So I think they redeemed themselves somewhat with this 1st season.
Let's hope they don't mess up the landing this time, which is unlikely given that the book series is finished.
@@chasspeed3BP was good but let’s not get bold with game of thrones here. They started fine with the help of George himself and then took his characters and turned them into parodies of themselves.
I need to watch again because i didn’t see when the old lady died
it happened offscreen though
3:56 "Singer" Easter Egg😁❤
Love singer.
I figured out the joke! Took me a while, but its related to the dark forest book and game theory books she picked up in the scene prior.
please explain to me how saul is supposed to deduct that she is talking about the dark forest theory?
@@ericb2017 Even you are Einstein reached the Heaven, There still some mighty ones above you.
I wonder if she also knew Saul would be picked as a Wallfacer.
❤❤❤
Ye Wenjie kind of forgot that she called the aliens
Really hope they go with AA and Tianming’s ending for Jin and Will, not Cheng Zin’s. They deserve some happiness!
This show should be 16:9 format
Why?
Ye Wenjie is the only memorable, likable character. Hope they had given her more screen time.
How is she likeable when she wrote off the entire human species and invited aliens to conquer them
Many of you see Porlock as an evil capitalist. I see him and I say to myself......
....
....
.....CORNFLAKES, CORNFLAKES, CORNFLAKES!!!!
Damnnn… Same guys that rushed Game of Thrones 🤦🏽♂️ Take your time with this one 🙌🏽
They worked on the show for 13 years. I'm not sure if you would call that a rush and they did the last 3 seasons based on unwritten novels. It won more Emmys than any TV show in history and the ratings went up every year, but everybody thinks they could do a much better job sitting behind their computer.
@@chasspeed 🤣🤣🤣
Jess Hong really makes this show vs Eiza Gonzalez's horrible acting.
Agreed, she and the guy for Will were such poor casting. Will looks like a butch lesbian if I'm to be honest. His acting is fine, but appearance-wise he's definitely not a match for Jess.
this einstein joke was absolutely ridiculous. how in the hell is anyone supposed to get ANYTHING from that shit? how is Saul going to determine the dark forest theory from that shit? come on be just a little more transparent than that. sheesh
In book2, he let's the location of a star out and it gets destroyed by another alien civilization. I think that's how he learns that letting your location out will lead to it's destruction as every civilization will see it as danger to their own thereby destroying it
@@soultune908yes that is true, but how does get the idea to even try that from the stupid Einstein joke she told him? makes no sense to me!
@@ericb2017 Einstein ( Earth ) is told by angels ( Aliens ) that he shouldn't be heard playing ( you shouldn't make yourself known to the universe ) otherwise God ( a superior race ) will kick you in the balls.
Saul will learn that if he can expose where the San-ti are, then a superior race ( or God ) will kick them in the balls. Entering into the deterence Era.
There's lot of hints, gotta pay more attention 😁
Man I hate they can't pronounce their own character's name... It's not "Yay", it's "Ye" rhymes with "look" without the K, or if they can manage French, "Ye" rhymes with "Le"
How does Ye rhyme with look without a k?
that's absolutely untrue. You obviously don't speak mandarin. Also Le in French and the English look don't rhyme at all.
Its legit its Legit man the police officers son is cringe lol. They just threw that in there to be eligible for awards, sad they use a community like that.
If you have to explain the episode, it wasn’t well made.
They literally do this for every episode though. They were popular during Game of Thrones so they are doing them for this series. People love these videos.
@@SWACBUZZ The North Remembers! I will never kneel.
People are just sharing their thoughts on it and stuff they’re not actually explaining it
@@ServioUribeyou need to get over yourself man. It's not that deep, it's a behind the scenes episode
You're not supposed to be spoon fed every detail of the story like you're a child ... thats the beauty of the masterpiece sci fi story dear.
You're supposed to gather the clues yourself and connect the dots ... thats the fun of this series, its brilliantly construct I say .... I don't really like movies that tells you everything without leaving any room for the viewers to make an effort to think ... thats for kids I'm afraid.
makes no sense this series , korean tv series best of all
There is no Korean series.
you meant Chinese?
I like the Japanese version actually
You guys ruined this epic masterpiece, Sci Fi ….
YOU GUYS F UP SO MUCH FROM THE BOOK!!!
I don't think "How close it is to the book" should be the only metric we follow when evaluating the quality of an adaptation. A TV show is a very different medium, and it's important to evaluate how well it stands on its own. Personally, I think most of the changes they made during the adaptation is justified.
@@tangrunhuano justification for Rey Diaz tho
@@tangrunhua Tv being a different medium is not a really great excuse if it is purely story we are talking about. Visuals CGI and the acting is what changes the medium not the story. And if they are going to just change the story they are practically just stealing someones idea and putting their name behind the work
@@Justin-zl6dm In fact...Liu himself is always generous with adaptations, he actually said ppl can do whatever with his work until the only thing remaining is the title. That, like his works, also reflects his altitude towards mankind-pathetic, incapable beings but worth love and hope.
But I have to agree that changing the wallfacers' story is terrible and possibly political.
@@Justin-zl6dmGosh! Being judgmental much? The author Cixin Liu signed off on the Netflix adaptation. So, do you speak for the author? Get a life man.
