  • 3 Body Problem Season 2 Burning Questions. The biggest questions the Season 1 finale left us guessing about. Please Subscribe 👉 czcams.com/users/petepeppers...
Season 2 of 3 Body Problem hasn't been announced and doesn't have a release date, but it looks like the show will likely get renewed. This video looks at the biggest questions the Netflix series left us with and what we think might happen in the second season.
In the 3 Body Problem, a young woman in China makes a fateful decision that alerts an alien race in search of a new planet to the location of Earth. Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao and Zine Tseng) welcomes the San-Ti because she believes humans have lost the ability to save themselves. She joins forces with Mike Evans (Jonathan Pryce) and recruits others through an immersive video game. Years later scientists started committing suicide after the laws of physics started to break down and a group of friends found themselves caught up in the mystery.
Thomas Wade (Liam Cunningham) and Da Shi (Benedict Wong) conduct an investigation and discover the coming invasion. They recruit members of the Oxford Five in an effort to save humanity in the 400 years it will take for the San-Ti to reach our system.
Based on the bestselling and critically acclaimed novels by Chinese author Liu Cixin, the mystery thriller series from Game of Thrones creators David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo (True Blood), explores humanity’s response to its gravest threat.

Benioff, Weiss and Woo all serve as executive producers; 3 Body Problem stars Hong as Jin Cheng, Eiza González as Auggie Salazar, Adepo as Saul Durand, Sharp as Will Downing, Bradley as Jack Rooney and Benedict Wong as intelligence officer Da Shi. The series also features Saamer Usmani as Raj Varma; Liam Cunningham as Thomas Wade; Rosalind Chao and Zine Tseng as Ye Wenjie; Jonathan Pryce and Ben Schnetzer as Mike Evans; Marlo Kelly as Tatiana; Sea Shimooka as Sophon and Eve Ridley as Follower.

The story begins in 1960s China when a young woman makes a fateful decision that reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel, a tight-knit group of brilliant scientists must join forces with an unflinching detective to stop humanity’s greatest threat. 3 Body Problem is an epic story that redefines sci-fi drama with its layered mysteries and story of human connection.

while imperfect, i thought the show did a great job of capturing the essence of this story, which is one of my all-time favorites. two questions that have nagged me from the books as well as the show:
    1) if the San-Ti are so advanced, why is earth the only planet they are willing to move to? aren't there many earth-like planets they could inhabit without having to fight the species that currently reside there?
    2) i know the sophons only arrived at earth a couple of months before they were discovered by all of humanity, but how is it possible that in all the time that ye and evans were communicating with the San-Ti over the prior decades, as well as their complete observation of everything happening on earth by the sohpons, the San-Ti never figured out that humans can lie until evans read 'little red riding hood' to them?

Sophons are only able to interfere with particle accelerators (not all electronic devices like on the show)create visual illusions (like countdowns), communicate with ETO and spy on earth on all levels. It is also implied that Trisolarians send even more sophons over time. The series portray sophons as a bigger threat than they already are I dont know how they will continue in season 2 without creating more plotholes. It’s challenging to tell the parts of the story from their perspective without showing us what they look like. Unless they just don’t show their perspective. The books can get away with it by leaving it up to the reader to describe in their head. That doesn’t work in a visual presentation. It’ll be interesting to see how the show handles these challenges. So far, I’m impressed. They stayed true to the most important points of the story and the changes help move the story forward or set up an important storyline for later. I haven't read the books but found the Netflix production interesting and pretty stimulating. As a physicist, I found the portrayal of the scientist a bit out of the norm (most physicist are more socially awkward than the ones in the series). Also, I struggled accepting the "sophon" as a proton size computer.
I just completed the Chinese version of season 1 on Amazon Prime. That version is much longer and includes a slightly clearer story of the science (slightly). The Chinese series left me a bit more accepting of how the San-Ti (or Trisolarians) managed to get a quantum entangled particle to Earth on a timeline that made sense. While I suspect the Chinese version is a closer reflection of the book(s),, the Netflix version seems much more visually polished In the end, I could see the advantages of each production. I really hope Netflix continues the story. Either way, I suspect I'll get the books and read those.

One thing I don't understand is why the san ti are still so obsessed with particle accelerators; or if they're not, why Jin is assuming that. It made sense initially when the sophons were unknown because it caused science itself to degrade (defunding and shutting down institutions). Now that factor is gone, and experiment results that do not align with reality will likely be tossed, and resources reallocated to practical planetary defense research. Screwing with infrastructure, energy, destabilizing governments would stunt humanity a lot more than losing theoretical physics.
Unless they want to prevent humans from learning how to unfold a proton.

The big question is does Netflix want to go off on a tangent and do a second season not based on the 2nd novel? “"There once was an infant lost in the woods, crying its heart out, wondering why no one answered, drawing down the wolves. We've been sitting in our tree chirping like foolish birds for over a century now, wondering why no other birds answered. The galactic skies are full of hawks, that's why. SPOILERS
The joke contains metaphors which the San-Ti do not understand. The three characters that Ye mentions are Einstein, the Angels and God. You could also include the Violin as that is also a metaphor.
The joke is easier to understand if you also take into account Game Theory. Game Theory is the science of strategy, or at least the optimal decision-making of independent and competing actors in a strategic setting. In game theory, the interaction between two or more players is often framed in terms of a game with a particular set of rules. Of interest may be the strategies that give optimal outcomes for each of the players or, conversely, the resulting outcomes when certain strategies are played.
If the San-Ti were to look at Ye's joke, they would want to literally speak with Einstein (but he's dead) or the Angels (but do they exist?) or God (does he exist?), However, if you consider that Einstein is the San-Ti, the violin is Earth, the Angels are Humankind and God is another Hunter in the Dark Forest, then it becomes easier to understand.
Humankind/Angels warns the San-Ti/Einstein not to invade/play Earth/Violin, or God/Another Hunter won't like it. (they would reveal Earth's position)
The San-Ti/Einstein cannot resist and plays/invades Earth and God/Another Hunter hears them (locates them with the help of the humans) and kicks the San-Ti/Einstein in the balls and then smashes his Violin/Earth. Now the San-Ti are left in heaven (space) with no Violin/Earth and no music. So the optimal result for a strategy of deterence is not to invade Earth or the San-Ti will lose everything. If they remain in space, the Earth and the Trisolarian system will remain and be hidden from another Hunter but if they invade, then the San-Ti will be revealed.
God also destroys the Trisolaran system as well, so that the San-Ti have nothing to go back to. The San-Ti also relied on those that they left behind on the Trisolaran system so that if the invasion of Earth failed, then "if one survives we all survive". So if Earth is invaded, the humans can reveal the position of the Trisolarian system, then God will be able to destroy them and then work out where Earth is and destroy that too.
