Super easy chewy Mochi in 10 minutes, matcha and nature flavor

- The smooth and chewy red bean mochi (mochi, glutinous rice cake, daifuku) is actually very simple to make.
Uji matcha powder is added to part of it, which is beautiful in color and tastes better.
Quickly make a few, it is a beautiful afternoon tea snack.
Ingredients: (9 pieces)
90g Glutinous rice flour
25g Corn starch
20g Caster sugar
160g Milk
10g Oil
1/2 tsp Matcha powder
180g Red bean paste (divided into 20g x 9 pieces)

I can't use glutenous rice flour, but I did use a gluten-free rice flour that has xanthan gum and tapioca flour and it work very well. I did have to increase the cooking time to 30-second increments longer. I have arthritis in my hands and it is difficult to use them to knead for very long, so I use the paddle feature on my stand mixer to blend it after cooking. I changed to using the dough hook for kneading. I took it out and used gloves and the plastic wrap method to fill and wrap the Mochi and they turned out wonderfully! Thank you for sharing your recipe and technique!

I didn't have cornflour so I used tapioca starch instead and it worked. Thanks for such an easy recipe

Shouldn't you have toasted the glutinous rice flour in a non-stick pan first before using it on the workspace and sprinkling it onto the mochi? OR did you mean use cornstarch to sprinkle onto the workspace?

Not wearing gloves yuks..mochi afer massage is no cooking and ready to serve..that is why u have to wear glove even u wash ur hand still need to wear glove to avoid contamination.
