Thank you this has actually helped me a ton. I kept wondering where my sound mods went and it was because of the update. I really hope I can make a little more money soon so I can tip these guys because the difference to the sound of the game is absolutely night and day
I installed the F/A-18 sound mod and it's pretty good - I didn't pay for it as I wanted to try it first. I am going to get the Viper pack now and send some money their way. It defaults to a $5 "suggestion" and IMO the mods are worth $5 if you like great sound. I'll pay $10 for the Viper to cover the Hornet.
I want to thank you for you detailed instructions. I tried a different approach. I tried to download all of them, instead of one at a time. The Echo Sound software is confusing.
@@DamnedGh0st thanks, got it sorted. Was just off-putting to not see the directory structure already there...usually that means I'm doing something wrong!
I can certainly try! Can you describe your issue a bit more? (What works, what doesn't?). I don't know why a gun sound wouldn't work if the rest of the sounds on an aircraft work, unless a recent DCS update changed something. Have you tried reinstalling it?
@@DamnedGh0st All sound mods that come with the mod work perfectly except the more realistic Vulcan cannon sound. I have this problem with the f16 Echo 19 Sound Mod
@@Gregor-the-DCS-Master If all other parts of the Viper sound mod work, all I can think of is reinstalling it. It's possible a DCS update broke compatibility with the cannon part and we need to wait for a fix.

Were you having issues find them after 2.9?
Very thorough, very steady and quality teaching. Very rare when it comes to modding videos.

I have no mods folder in Saved games / DCS.Openbeta the mods folder is located in the main install directory. does it matter which mods folder I use?
Yes, just create the "mods" folder in the Saved Games location :) If any of the folders shown are missing, just create them.
