Huge thank you for the support! While not perfect, we hope that you enjoy the refreshed audio. Please send feedback our way so we can keep improving!
I found the process of checking out the mods with payment a bit clunky and ended up paying " $0 " but then making a one time donation.
im trying to download the f16 audio and i keep getting steam authorization failed when i try to launch dcs. Btw i have dcs downloaded along with the viper on steam. Solution?
just bought the pack, incredible mod brother
tbh this video also shows what a fantastic job ED has done with the sounds, they sound very similiar
I wouldn't say they sound similar (save for a few moments here and where), but all things considered I'm not yet convinced installing this mod is worth the trouble... yet
@@getsideways7257 I get somewhat the same feeling, mod is not really all that good in my opinion, the sounds are good indeed, but the way they are used in the 3D sphere and camera location sounds really artificial/strange. I've been to airshows, heard 16 fly around me (Also live in a country that has 16 fly on a regular basis overhead). When i hear the Echo sound mod, it feels like the sound makes you believe the plane is either further, closer or in a different aspect from what my eyes are actually seeing and expecting the sound to be from what i've heard IRL. Hard to exactly describe what i feel but yeah, clearly something about it that feels off in my opinion.
@@1818TC Also, I think some of the samples are lacking in body. Maybe not the best recording equipment or something.
@@1818TC Yup. The recordings are also quite good for the hornet and spitfire/mustang, but they're simply not implemented as well
Was just about to look at sound mods for DCS. Couldn't have timed it any better!
I always found these sound enhancements a major thing in enhancing immersion. Being donationware is beyond me, you guys are the greatest. Keep them coming.
Tyler is a long time friend of mine. Very happy to see his incredible work getting some good coverage!
thanks for highlighting this! Downloaded and sounds great! Thanks.
Thanks for the showcase! While simple in nature it takes a lot of time to put something like this together and you were able to get good samples from both sources. Once again solid work from Bogey Dope and Echo 19 studios!
Thanks bogey! Very nice and in depth comparison. Will try the mod first thing in the morning
Imma get me this right now!
Nice one brother.
Definitely going to check it out. A lot of improvement in the sounds, but the Echo 19 Overhead Break was absolutely chilling.
This is ASMR actual. Great vid. I downloaded it immediately. I remember your vid on the f-15E and you mentioning the lack of the howling from its engines.. I wonder if echo19 will add that?
Oh man I hope so one day. That would be great!
well done
good idea to compare the original vs Echo19. Another good video
I've been using the Core, F-16, Spitfire and P-51D mods for some time. A download worth your while, and makes for an immersive experience. A donation is a worthy thing to make.
Oof exterior flyby sound is beautiful
Yea I'm with you on this one. It seems like a pretty mixed bag, some sounds are better in Echo19, and tbh, some of the sounds in my personal opinion were a little better in default. Overall Echo19 is solid though and I'd definitely still use it over the default sounds
Or rather some sounds are better in the mod. Too much trouble installing this for what it offers. If only it could be just as easily plugged in as the aircraft/tech mods...
I love the sounds!! The only strange thing I’ve noticed is flying around near a lot of other airborne aircraft like nearing a stack in a hornet in a Raven One mission. Have you or anyone else encountered this? It’s almost like a BOOM from in the cockpit. It’s pronounced. Sounds like a compressor stall even though I know it’s not. Thanks for your videos!!!
Get audio mod! It’s a must have
One thing in RL that cant really be reproduced in this game is the sheer volume and presence of these jets. Been living at Holloman for a minute now and its crazy how loud they are lol. Had one fly about 100 feet off the ground pass in front of my car when I was going to class it was amazing
Depends on your acoustic system...
@@getsideways7257 Most people aren't going to invest in sweet audio setups. But then again DCS players aren't most people. Having the rumble from a proper audio setup plus VR is something next level for sure.
EDIT: Don't listen to it too loud for too long though. Hearing is precious
@@andrewcharlton4053 Oh, I'm not the one who's into audio for the decibels alone - much more into higher fidelity sound and things like delta-sigma.
I simply meant that if one really wants to experience stupidly loud audio, the market is choke full of that kind of stuff only limited by the budget.
Personally, there is always a small detail missing to make it the final mod par excellence....aka the "squeeeez!" mechanic of the transition from military to afterburner!!❤❤❤❤❤
External views - E19 wins for sure! Literally like being there.
Everything else is pretty minor in my opinion.
Therefore, i see this as best for content creators but not me as a single player.
I think the one sound I like better in the default is when pulling the throttle to idle, for me it is just about the best sound in DCS, not sure why.
What I missed on the landing break was the whistles that come from real F-16s. I’m not sure where these come from, but I hear them all the time from the Tulsa based 16s.
I believe in Tulsa, they are flying Block 52 F-16's. Which have the Pratt and Whitney engines. P&W nozzles are air driven. Kind of like an air drill. That whistle you hear is coming from the Nozzles when they open and close. The F-16 we have in DCS is a Block 50. Block 50's have the GE engines. Which do not have air driven nozzles. Much quieter.
@@BogeyDope Wow! Superb explanation. Thanks for that. I learned something new!
sounds good - Q: the pilot breathing in general and especially under G sounds the same in both recordings - is that another mod? Cause´ it does not sound like the standard one
Hey just wondering how do you get your name on the icp? Great videos btw
Sounds the same to me??? Or so close I can't tell the difference enough to go through effort to add the mod. Very very slight difference
its def super subtle, but its noticable with headphones and in game
anything to do with telemetry and bass shakers? could they merge their wave files or something?
just going through the viper startup about 7mins in, its tough to discern a difference
Default was louder and had the same tone for longer in somethings where it sounded the same for longer. Echo19 was more muffled as if we actually had the helmet on in most parts and when turning the head the engine sound differed as if the helmet loosened a bit. Also probably better sound equipment overall. Then again I work on planes and launch and recover so I guess I'm more keen to the noises 😅
I know it’s crazy but it’s always bothered me the sound of the f16 in dcs, I live next to a Air National Guard station and have listened to the 16 my entire life and dcs hasn’t had those mid to high frequencies quite right, it’s always felt like they had the low end always a little more prominent than it actually is, just something I’ve noticed.
Sounds are great although a little muffled in the cockpit. ED needs to fix the issue of the JFS spinning up before the doors are fully open. On the real aircraft there is an audible "clunk" as the valves are opened, then the doors open, then the JFS spins up. Also, a nice puff of smoke at JFS shutdown would be a nice touch😏
Agreed! I've been saying that since they released it. I already reported it too. Wish they'd add the black puff too. czcams.com/video/3Q1XCDjrNr4/video.html
Off topic here, but where can I find the Super Hornet Mod for DCS?
Very nice, very nice... But will it pass the MPS integrity check, I wonder 🤔
Yes. I have been using it for years in all multiplayer servers. Private and public without any IC issues.
@@BogeyDope
Yo Bogey! Copy that! Thank you for the hint, much appreciated! Can't wait to put my filthy gloves on this!
All power to you, bro! First rate content as always!

Does sound better with the Echo19 sounds. Internal sounds are way better
Quite of few of the external sounds are more realistic like the JFS when it starts and shuts off. Small differences that only a maintainer might pick up on.
I think some of the start up sounds are better, but the external views in my opinion aren't as good as the stock DCS sound. Listening with headphones, and i used to work for Linn Products a company any audiophile will know as a top teir audio equipment manufacturer and they used to teach all their employees how to properly listen to sound differences between two different types of equipment. But still I'm no expert, I do prefer the DCS sounds on Fly by and external, having listened to Typhoons fly over nearly every day the DCS sounds are alot more authentis. Yes Yes Yes I know a Typhoon isn't an F-16 but the way DCS handles the sound of the jet at distance and the Roar of the afterburners when pointed towards you and changes as the jet manouvers seems more realistic than the E-19 mod. The Fly by and Pull up was far more impressive in the DCS veersion than the E-19 one IMHO.
I realise ultimately it's all down to personal preferance but I'm going to stick with Stock DCS sound pack on the F-16. I'll check out the other jets also on other YT vids unless you can give us another video showing the difference in those and the Core sound mods, as you did great job here even though I'm going to stick with the original.

My default supersonic pass don't sound like that. Did I miss something?
They updated the sonic boom in open beta last year. Are you on stable? Or open beta?
@@BogeyDope Im on open beta. I still have the old sound.
Also my default G sounds don't sound like these. When I upgraded to E19 last month it completely changed my sounds, much bigger changes than are shown here.
Does it pass server integration? 4YA etc ?
I've been using it for years on all multiplayer servers. Private and public, and I've never had an IC error.
