Look here BMW, the huge kidneys should house induction coils to double as the charging pads. Such gigantic cable-free charging will be a game changer.
Those kidneys are biggest reason why I dislike this car and they almost prevent me from buying an i4.

That’s where the sensors are though so then you’d have to have cut outs for them… so just get it in black I guess

The i8 wasn’t worth the 140k they claimed it to be. It was Such poor performance for a “high end” bmw.

Seeing the kidney grills in person isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It’s actually grown on me.
OK fine, so the old BMWs had vertical kidney grills, but they weren't that huge and wide. Make them narrower at least smh

Honestly, I would buy this when it comes out of it weren’t for the grilles. That is just hideous. Make them half the size in height, and you would be much better off.
I felt the exact same way, but then I saw it on a black M440i model with black trim, and thought it looked really good. All other colors though, not so much.
At least the 3 series doesn't have those kidneys *yet*

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a beautiful car!
It's just that I expected the car would look more like the concept car.
For example: it would have been gorgeous if it had such a large panoramic roof.

That thing about building i4 on the same production line as other cars produced by BMW is awesome...
So an electric 3 series sedan or touring could be built easily
@@martin5697 i4 is slightly bigger than 3 series sedan, once your production line is prepared, these cars can be produced easily. Lower number of parts on EVs, so they should be able to build them faster...

Unpopular opinion: I absolutely love the new m3/m4 i4 grill. Its looks so obvious for me why they chose to do this design. Its because of their history and current motorsport regulations, which proves the fact that BMW remains a true motorsport/driving pleasure brand. And well, it just looks very fine to me.
Oh, and such a clever decision for i4 to share production line with 4 series. Rooting for BMW to be a nice competition to Tesla. You guys are getting there with your new i4!

It was downhill from the start but really reached rock bottom at 3:56. Even the subtitles abandoned the plot.

Ich war mal ein großer BMW Fan. Der E46 und der Z8 waren Designer Wunderwerke. Die Designer sollten die Nieren bis zum Heck durchziehen. Denn wenn schon Scheiße, dann bitte mit Schwung. Der Heck der neuen Serien sieht mittlerweile auch nicht anders aus, als das eines Asiatischen 0815er Autos. Es sieht aus, als würden langsam die Ideen ausgehen. Das gleiche trifft auch den armen Mini. Zwischen 2007 und 2014 kommt einer der schönsten Mini Serien in der Geschichte, damit diese dann mit dem Nachfolger mit Glutschaugen und miesen Schnauzenausdruck wie bei einer Kualquappe und der Unruhe in Innenaum, genau wie bei dem BMW Serien unterzeichnet und das gesammt Bild zerstört. Übrigens, der 2015er Clubman mit 4 Türen sieht aus wie eine Presswurst, und nicht wie ein Mini. Fantastisch! Weiter so...

The i-series has a perfect exterior design if the grill size is small. The general design has a larger grill, and the i-series has a pretty design even if the grill is the right size. The i-series looks pretty, so let's reduce the size of the grill. Make the i-series gear rod. I hope bmw succeeds.

With all honesty, the BMW i4 looks SO MUCH BETTER than the gasoline version BMW 4 series or M4. It has fewer lines which makes it more elegant, but the front grille still bothers me and could be improved.

@@zaheer1405 that is decent for an M3 to be fair! When I was trying to decide between the two and I was watching videos of the M3 the engine noise gave me goosebumps. But in the end had to make the more sensible choice 😂😂

My family was a bmw family but now we’re switching to s class and e class when we sell our 5 & 7 series
@Sneakerz On Deck my dad mainly said we will switch when we had to get our adaptive LED replaced and it costed 6k that plus the grills that will prob be on the next 5 and 7 series

A completely underwhelming design, why bother showing a concept at all if you’re going to regress and date the features back 7 years? BMWi is about innovation, space, clarity. The concept ticked every box. This is not a 2021 vehicle. I hope your M variant will have something to offer.

I want the concept headlights. Originally I don't think the big grill works, but putting new M3/M4 next to audis and mercs, it stands out for sure (even though I think Merc and Audi are theoretically prettier). Much more impressive and interesting than the current generation.
