I really enjoy the presenter, first doing the iX and now the i4 presentation, he is clear and explains the car very well. He's done a great job.

It’s certainly a brave attempt at making a German translation sound natural in English, but it’s very distracting. All those adjectives and verbs in the wrong places 😂

Car is great and all, love the new 4 series design, but the sound... the sound is something else - I'm still in shock after hearing that. Awesome job from BMW and Hans Zimmer.

I’m unsure of Matt Watson now....something about him reflects certain values these days....difficult to explain, but I get the feeling, now he’s done well with Carwow he likes the lucratuve/money side.... all of a sudden he’s a devoted Teslarati fan boy which doesn’t sit right for any car journo....and could be a joint thing on the side with them? He’ll probably gave the i4 a bad review in this case....he didn’t like the Polestar 2 which is clearly a comparable product to the Tesla model 3!?
@@00Seven1000 He gave a unbiased and good review for the Mercedes EQC, and he also suggested to go ahead and buy the Taycan 4s instead of the Taycan RWD base model. he even threw shade at Tesla interior quality and infotainment system bieng distracting in the recent Audi RS e-tron GT 2021 in-depth review, plus no mention of tesla in many of his other EV reviews. just because you are biased against tesla or any-other automaker. does not mean someone else also shouldn't like the features that you dislike.
Polestar has been receiving bad reviews in multiple channels. lot of software glitches and a lack of a charging network gave it's initial bad reviews. updated reviews might differ and could be better.
Just because someone praises one car over another in a review, does not make them a fanboy enough to discredit their entire previous work.

The interior of this car that was shown last year was super nice. Full glass roof and crystal knobs everywhere inside.

Very nice, love the new cockpit and instrument cluster design.
It is such a shame that BMW have moved the climate control to voice/touch. The "old" combination with buttons / iDrive / voicecommand were to me a perfect combination.
Late at night with 3 sleeping passengers in the car, it blows that you have to navigate climate control on the display.
Why would you? Set it at 20 degrees once, done. Never touch that shit again.

I have my i4 reserved, can't wait to place my order. Wish it came in the Frozen Copper color, I loved that color.
Probably ask your dealer for BMW Individual paint options. If the i4 gets the full range Individual options, you can order it in your bespoke color choice - that doesn't come cheap, expect it to be probably around 6k-9k - but they can either paint it in this or a similar color in the BMW Individual paint program, OR you can even get it individually mixed for your car as a totally personal bespoke color.
I can't guarantee that it will be available, but as the i4 is produced in plant Munich, chances are high that it is available as this production facility is available for custom paint options for the other models produced there.

I'm missing a standard sunroof like the one offered by Tesla on the Model 3 or Lucid Air. I'm also not so happy on the lack of a frunk. The car seems like an afterthought on an existing ICE model (4 series).
The BMW 1980 5 Series grill and car design are perfect. It would be nice to make it again. An angled design and a small grill.

The bmw I4 and ix series will definitely become unique premium brands in the electric vehicle market in the future.
BMW has far superior quality, driving sensibility, stability, design, and technology, and seems to be developing several times better than
Benz's and Tesla design. (I'm sure Benz's recent design is becoming increasingly strange.)
People like Tesla but to me the outside looks like a loaf of bread/car without a “mouth” and I HATE the empty interior. The bmw i4 is definitely my fave so far

In real life it looks not as unpleasant as it does in the videos. At least my experience for the regular 4 series

Love the look and design. The range is impressive too. Acceleration not so much at 3.9 sec even for the i4 m50. It’s plenty quick just quite a bit slower than it’s main competitor the Tesla Model 3 performance at 3.5 seconds.
It will be just as quick as the Model 3. BMW’s 0-60 rating is always conservative, take for example the latest M3 Comp xDrive, it’s rated 0-60 time is 3.5 seconds however those who are current getting their M3’s with xDrive are posting times ranging from 2.99-3.14 seconds. Another example being the M5 CS, it’s rated 0.60 is 3.0 seconds however many tests reveal 2.75 seconds👍🏽😎 Legacy auto is more conservative with their numbers. Keep in mind some of Tesla’s 0-60 times are with a 1 foot rollout.
I don’t think That this will become true for the electric cars. Bmw uses electric motors that aren’t that efficient, that’s the trade of for being very sustainable. To be honest this far might be slower from 0 to 60 than the model 3, but from all other perspectives it certainly is another league of car. If you consider the fact that it’s based on platform for all kind of engines (clar) it’s really impressive. But it means also that there is room for a solely electric based car which would be even better (the new ix is that car, unfortunately very ugly).
The way you guys focus on speed is like we aren’t on same roads which the speed limit is 120. Or are you guys bringing your own road from heaven?
Carwow already did the 0-60 test and it came in identical to M3's 3.6 second (for their test).
Sorry but BMW's main competitor is not Tesla. Tesla beats all other manufacturers are pure tech, but cars aren't just a piece of tech. Notice how Model 3 weighs 4250lbs while this M50 weights 5000 pounds? That's what happens when you got garbage interior in Tesla, nothing but plastic. Everyone who has driven a nice German (no not an older beater Benz you bought when you thought it was cool to have one in college, but an actual recent model that is nicely equipped) knows the difference. I'm not being a BMW fan boy, it's just not reasonable to argue Tesla's have nice interiors. I'm all for Tesla disrupting the industry and being ahead of everyone in the game of tech but let's be realistic about what a Tesla is what it isn't.
Recall that we are talking about acceleration faster than the fastest super cars of the 80s, 90s, 2000s coming out of a sedan that normal people are going to own.
