Great video as always! Thorough and to the point with a no nonsense attitude, CZcams needs more creators like you :)
once more, the best visual "what's new" of the NXi addon release note!
I’ve been waiting for them to flesh out the EIS. This is awesome! Thanks for the update
Thank you Kip. Your videos are always hugely helpful. I learn a lot every time I watch.
Thanks for your timely review, I always check you out before I load the Sim to see what's new and how to handle. You help make this Sim more fun for sure!!!
Your videos are always to the point, no useless chatting, thank you
Precise information as usual, direct to the point and professionalism. Thanks for making these.
Thanks a lot for these videos. Been flying in MSFS for a while but not used the G1000s much until recently. These vids have been a great source to get up to speed on the NXi. No nonsense, clearly explained enough for someone new to understand but also concise and to the point. Good stuff!
Excellent video for the updates! Thanks Kip!!
great work Kip! 👍
as always!
Most important developement for me in MSFS2020 is the G1000 NXi improvement . Thank you for your perfect update-videos and greetings from Germany.
Now my favorite SIM X_PLANE11 is reALLY falling back -
Kip, thanks for the new informatieve video. Gereat
Fantastic video sir!!!
I for one am eternally grateful.
Good health to you.
Barty
Thank you very much for your reviews.
Another timely and informative and concise video, much appreciated, always look forward to your videos.
I’m curious if you’re able to do a destination change in this version! Let me know if it doesn’t work.
@@KipOnTheGround Will do.
Perfect; Well done!!!
Great Video. Thanks for the update.
Great Video you teach us well!
Thanks for the great work :)
very helpful channel, Thanks for sharing this information with us.
excellent as always. Clear and concise information with easy to follow steps. I cannot direct my viewers enough to you channel. Keep them coming!
Thank you, glad they're helping! Hope to catch your stream next time-looks like I missed today's.
@@KipOnTheGround Used your tips extensively on my stream. You make this look so easy hahaha. And don't worry. I will be flying my plan for the next 4 more years. More then enough time I would say.
What a crazy route, haha. Awesome. Looking forward to catching you live!
@@KipOnTheGround Honoured to have you along!
Great update. thanks!
I love the NXi, The Devs are doing an Amazing Job here
with the always very helpful...thank you.
Perfect :-) Thank you
Nice! 10 more years of constant updates and I think we may have a decent g1000 system.
The NXi has only been out for 2 months. Imagine where it'll be by the end of the year...
@@KipOnTheGround I can't!!! 😝
Hi Kip, as always a great video. Loving the Nxi, it keeps getting better each update. One thing I have noticed in this update, (I may not have in previous so defs not calling it a bug) you now can't select approach from a "direct to". Only work around I've found is manually entering it as destination in flp.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. It’s not possible to do it yet, and I actually don’t know if you’re supposed to be able to load a procedure for a direct-to waypoint, but I think so. I’ll have to chat with the WT guys and find out!
Nice video. Thanks.
Just a heads up guys. There is a bug, where you intercept GS/GP for a couple of seconds and then AP switches back to ALT mode to keep aircraft in faf altitude. WT devs are aware of that and working on it.
Every time there's a new Nxi update, I get back in the Caravan and give it a go. The VNAV is really making me lazy in my approaches. It's just so easy to just hit the VNAV button and basically have the AP fly down to the ground. Having so much fun that my TBM is not getting as much love as before. :)
Oh yeah, the TBM lol. Don't think I've flown it since WT added visual approach and obs.
Yeah, it really feels like cheating with functional VNAV 😆
1500deg! Holy melted pistons batman
for some reason I don't yet see the new version 0.7.0 hope I can get it soon looks great
Hopefully Working Title can update the G3X more soon.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Amazing work! Ps do you have an idea how the development of the G3000/5000 is going?
Pretty sure the WT team is exclusively working on the NXi, so don’t think we’ll see much with the G3000 into the majority of the NXi work is done.
Much more helpful would be, if the saitek multi panel would show the correct altitude as it did before this mod. To know the cylinder temprature is secondary
I agree - it was very disappointing when the upgrade stopped the alt function on my multipanel...
Wow Kip. How do you get these update videos out so quickly? Thank you.
Lots of reading of the NXi manual and staying up until 1 AM to finish them the same day or the day after :-) It tends to take me about an hour to produce each minute of the final video, maybe more if I’m adding graphics or things like that. Trying to get more efficient every time!
With this gauge the WT navigation, both laterally and vertically is a joy to use. Unlike the FBW Bus which still duplicates waypoints and has no VNav constraint following? They should ask WT how it's done?
Their flight plan code is wip...
I thought VNV doesn't accept any step-downs to a FAF and beyond. Will have to try it
Hey Kip, thanks for the video. DO you know if WT guys will update the g3000/5000? its being left behind, or is that how far they have been developed in real life?
Thanks! From what WT's said in their Discord, they do have plans to return to the G3000 mod after most of the NXi work is done, but for now it's clearly full-steam-ahead on the NXi :-)
Hey there! After SIM Update 28.02.22, I have lost all TCAS on the G1000 NXI? No traffic visible, on AI injected traffic 25%??? Anyone else or is this just my install?
Love your videos, all of them! You are a natural teacher Kip... thank you! One frustration I have always had with G1000 mods is that none of them work properly. In particular VS mode and NAV mode will not activate with sim button click on screen OR hardware button click [Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant]. If I remove the mod and revert to the default FS2020 G1000 everything works fine. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks Chris! I just checked my Bravo with NXi 0.7.0 and both the NAV and VS buttons work for me. NAV ("Joystick Button 2") is bound to "AUTOPILOT NAV1 HOLD" and VS ("Joystick Button 6") is bound to "TOGGLE AUTOPILOT VS HOLD". I'd double check in your Controller Settings that you have the same bindings, and see if that helps.
Also, make sure you don't have any other mods that are doing anything to the G1000, since they could conflict. Some modded planes have G1000 modifications, and unless they say they're specifically compatible with the NXi (like the Grand Caravan Improvement mod does), that may be causing issues.
@@KipOnTheGround Turns out it was a mod...I should have caught that! Everything appears to be working perfectly now. Thanks so much!
Awesome progress! For some reason, though, I can’t seem to get the sim to update to 0.7.0. The last time it said there was an update for NXi, it download 0.t6.0. Is there a way to “force” it to update to 0.7?
Hiya, with reagrds to Xbox, try a restart of the sim, or just delete the 0.6.0 and re download, it should grab the latest and greatest.
Great work as always. Quick question, When will we be able to depress the CRS knob to be able to fly direct to a VOR or ground-based navaid? As someone who uses the mouse to interact with the G1000s buttons, it's sometimes tough to be spinning the CRS knob all the way to navigate directly to a navaid from my present position. For GPS nav, simply hitting Direct To would suffice, but when the CDI is sourced to a LOC or VOR, it seems that this doesn't function as normal.
Not sure about when pushing CRS will be implemented, but I'll keep my eye out for it :-)
I forgot to mention, you could use the Map Opt button to set Bearing 1 or Bearing 2 to NAV1 or NAV2. That will give you a needle that points directly to the VOR.
@@KipOnTheGround Ahh great point! Thanks so much, fantastic work!
Tried three different ways to change DESTNATION after DEL Flt Pln
1- Able to change DEST on ground after DEL Flt Pln .
2- In flight used the DIR Button on the Bezel- locked up airplane immediately when new DEST typed in as before.
3- In flight used the PROC to select approach, when new DEST typed in immediate freeze of airplane as before.
Do you happen to be using a modded plane or have another G1000 mod installed in your community folder? It sounds like something is conflicting with the NXi to me.
Some plane mods also change the G1000 so can conflict with the NXi.
@@KipOnTheGround Tried once with all the mods removed but a Caravan 208 Mod. No other G1000 mods. Wii try again with all mods removed including the Caravan mod
Have you been able to change the destination?
@@KipOnTheGround Destination change working OK with only Caravan 208 mod . Will add removed mods a few at a time to check for conflict.
Thanks for all your patience in taking time to to help resolve thus issue..
No problem! Glad it’s working!
As of 25-09-22 Australian morning, it's still only 0.5.1 available. Wonder if it takes a while until all CDNs globally see the update?
Should have at least 0.6.0. But 0.7.0 has bugs on engine load
Hey Kip! I have an issue with this mod, it for some reason it interferes with the WT G3000 in the TBM930 and causes a CTD. Have you seen both these mods impacting one another?
I've had both the NXi and G3000 mods installed at the same time before, but haven't tried it for 0.7.0. You could try temporarily turning off your Community mods to see if you still have an issue.
A quick way to do that is to rename your Community folder to something like "Community1". MSFS will create a new blank "Community" folder when you start the sim next. Then you can drag mods 1 at a time from "Community1" to "Community" to see when you start having problems (be sure to restart the sim each time). That's how you can find the troublesome mods :-)
I update it and i still have the engine sections greyed out. Care to explain, what i doing wtong? And weather radar still doesnt work with this
The "Lean" tab (this is Xbox running 0.7.0) is not active on the 208, had you spotted this?
That's expected since the 208 is a turboprop and has no mixture to control.
I tried to start MSFS 2020 and was met with a mandatory update needed. When I pressed OK to start the update it went to a page that didn't have the option to update shown. How do I get the update started?
If you’re on PC, you need to download the Xbox app for Windows and update the sim using it first before launching it. Updates used to be done with the Microsoft Store app but recently I’ve had to use the Xbox app instead. Sorry for the wait on my reply.
Hey can you please help after I land the plane it’s turning by it self into the grass and going to the jetway o want to do that myself how can I turn it off
It's probably part of the landing assist options. Check the "flight assistant" in the in-game toolbar (at the top of the screen), and also check the main settings under "Assistance Options" and going through the options, especially under "piloting".
There is also a delete button, Do I need to delete something?
But I still cannot figure out how to manually put in my departure airfield into the flight plan. I can find the page. But I cannot enter anything. I can go into the arrival page and enter that then it will show up in the flight plan. But even going to the departure page and entering it there it will not fill the departure in the flight plan which means I cannot request ifr clearance. I cannot seem to make north up. I found the map sett8ngs page but the options are grey I cannot select anything.
Hey Luke, if you can, join the Discord server and I can give you some help in a voice channel there if you're willing (you can even share your screen there so I can see what's not working for you): discord.gg/8hcJpsvsd9
"on the ground lol"
Found the download, but it is not installing when finishing the download
Let me ask a Question: Been watching in the MSFS Discord for a while now. It seems that MSFS is not really 'READY for PRIME TIME' i.e. If the Garmin radios/GPS are not fully implemented what's the use. It's only a TOY not suitable for REAL WORLD Learning/Currency is it? I'm not being Critical but as an Instrument Rated Pilot can I trust MSFS to learn/refresh the operation of said Garmin Equipment & not be les astray to incorrect Procedures or Missing/Improper systems parts?
Similar situation here. Working on my IR. I stick with X-Plane for the time being.
Some of this stuff takes time. Look at how long it took (years) to get decent Garmin 530/430's and 750/650's into FSX/P3D. And we had to pay some big $$ for those units. Now we're getting updated Garmin's slowly but surely and for free.
@@johnknapp952 that’s a good point
Some people just want a plane to enjoy flying everywhere they want. Some want every button, light, leavers to function. I’m in the middle of that. Enjoying flight to the place I just only heard and learning how to fly the sim plane along the way. Actually the MSFS has evolved a lot since released last year.
@@Kanok_C Yes it has, just not the flight model 😂
Is this safe to install now?
It's always been safe to install :-) You can remove it at any time if you have any problems with it by going to My Profile / Content Manager within the sim.
@@KipOnTheGround thank you brother appreciate 👍 by the thankx for all the fs great tutorial, thanks to you I’m a pilot now 😀
