- Super expensive 43ft Donzi boat($450,000)was hotdoging at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. This was the Mavericks Surf Contest weekend and the waves were solid 15'. I had some friends surfing and thats why I was out filming this day. There were a lot of pro surfers out there.
Out of nowhere comes Captain Booya, he was drinking and gave it the full send on the outside set. Big air to flat water. Everyone in the boat was hurt except the driver. The hull cracked in half and the boat still made it back to its dock in Tiburon. The coast guard cruised by 10 min after this happened and did a few circles and left. Gotta be one of the craziest modern maritime videos in San Francisco.

Some context for those of you that might not know, that boat is approximately 40 foot in length. So that's 40 foot of boat standing on its ass, four foot above a wave that has got to be another minimum 20 foot high. As the man eluded to, you had better be strapped in.

This is very similar to my commute in my 2010 Hyundai Elantra.
I would surf out there daily and this is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen at ocean beach.Reminds me of seeing a huge nuclear submarine breach as my homie and I were just chillin in the line up. Quite a random sight to see😂

@@mixedupmenopausaladhd3999 it was in Oceanside down by San Diego. It was about 10 football fields away, and the wake it created, we were able to surf all the way in. LMAO it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Made us feel so very small. but that is a great thing and it is always good when you get put in check and realize how small you are in this universe. Let alone just this planet.
@ Keith cook I saw the same thing just south of Tara mar beach in Carlsbad just west of the flower fields. We were surfing and a sub popped up, it was so random. It was an amazing sight and feeling of safety.
@@robdavis1176 That is not far at all from where we were. I wonder if it could be the same one or if it’s a training exercise and they practice breaching and submerging. Either way, an amazing site and something you’ll never forget.

You can see the splash a little. But we know everyone but the driver was hurt and the boats hull fully cracked in half. You probably wouldn't want to see the landing.

@@richierich2534 it looked like there was a guy floating up into the air as the boat was coming in for its landing, possibly a passenger, could imagine him hitting the floor of the boat pretty good. If he was just along for the ride I bet he was pissed
@@hallcody3 I did a little offshore powerboat racing in the early 80s the boats used stand up bolster seats it was brutal on your body the new boats from the 1990s on they have high tech sit down seats

Why the heck did you STOP filming??
I kept filming. The boat sat there for about 10 min. Then slowly headed back into the bay. The coast guard boat came around about 15 min after and did a few circles there. Not much to see really, and a lot of commentary from me and my surfer friend Dr Dave talking smack.
