    Hi Alex. This is super helpful. In an extension to this would you happen to know how to model the spiral part of a cello(e.g. scroll)? I'm having a hard time modeling a linear spiral that also decreases in size.

    I can also follow without shortcuts as I know where to find these settings. But one problem do I have. If I use the displacer there is 1 pixel/point which is always breaking out. No matter how often I use optimzer or normalizer. any idea?

    Hi Alex, this one was really great, the displacement trick was simply clever! Not mention the UV tool other usefull stuff. Don't know why people are just focusing on execution speed...
    Just a quick info: the edge boundary highlight ( in cyan/green ) is a C4D hidden feature or an external plugin? Thanks a lot!

    • @alexanderkolyasa5850
      @alexanderkolyasa5850  Před 4 lety +2

      Hey Gianluca, thank you! Glad to help!
      It's default feature in c4d. You can enable it in attributes window. Press "Mode" and then select "Modeling settings" and you will see tab named "Mesh checking". You can enable a bunch of different useful stuff there. There also was some shortcut to this tab, but I forgot it already, because didn't use c4d for a while. I miss this feature now =)

    Hey Alex, thanks for this. I was with you right up until you changed the interpolation on the gradient to smooth out the spiral. I’m on R21 and it doesn’t appear to have a ‘linear’ setting on the interpolation. It has ‘3D Linear’, but that doesn’t produce the same results that you demonstrate. Any thoughts?

    • @alexanderkolyasa5850
      @alexanderkolyasa5850  Před 4 lety

      Hello Chris, sorry but I haven't use Cinema 4d R21 and I'm not sure how it can be fixed there. Also for the past 2 years I started to use Blender instead, so I already start to forget C4D a bit =)

    • @alexanderkolyasa5850
      @alexanderkolyasa5850  Před 4 lety +1

    Н-гоны и косяки при сабдиве все равно остались и плохо что не показываешь горячие клавиши - не все знают что надо нажать альт+шифт и двойной клик чтобы открыть меню текстур. так же в видео есть какие то странные инструкции - селект и драг (когда U+J юзаешь) не понятно зачем это и что делает - ничего не меняется абсолютно

    • @alexanderkolyasa5850
      @alexanderkolyasa5850  Před 5 lety

      ну урок не про хоткеи прост, а про логику действий. Наверно переложил опыт туторов которые я смотрю, потому что мне наоборот больше нравится когда не останавливаются на разъяснении азов, а просто путь решения задачи быстро показывают. Так то я всегда готов ответить если что то было не ясно.
      На счет U~J это тулза называется UV Peeler, предназначена для того чтобы UV на цилиндрических объектах быстро раскладывать в прямоугольники. Ничего не меняется это на модели, а ювишка стала нормальная, не разорванная как я до этого показывал. Попробуй ее применить, открыв рядом в окошке UV и увидишь наглядно как работает.

      In this case this tutorial is just waste of time for you, cuz you can't learn more advanced stuff without knowing the basics. Sorry, but I'm serious, I used hotkeys for very basic modeling operations and if you don't know them yet, just spend a little bit more time learning beginner tutorials. It will be much easier to you to understand program in this way. And not try to repeat every single tutorial you found on Internet

      man, I didn't tell shortcuts for ring select and divide operation. I think it's super basic knowledge and this video was not about teaching someone who just opened c4d for the first time. Sorry, but in this case you need at least understand modelling process and the reasons why you need to get result with topology like this. Sure it will be not helpful if you only start to learn 3d
