For anyone contemplating this do-it-yourself job, I’m here to tell you to go for it! Toyota quoted me $5700 to change the touchscreen (some story about having to pull the dashboard and replace the entire console!). Three CZcams videos and a $60 replacement screen (from Amazon) later and my radio is like new. Thank you, Do It Yourself, Bri! This is a great video: very clear and very easy to follow. I was really pissed. I punch the screen on my 2017 Corolla and cracked it and I was literally having a meltdown as soon as I saw how much Toyota wanted to charge me but I’m glad I came around this video

Just a note: if you reconnect back to the truck, and see lines on the screen, go back and check the ribbon connections.
Great video and instructions! Just broke my screen and was debating between a fix or a new radio. Fix was about $700 less, so, thanks to your video, that's what I did.

Thank you so much for making this video. I had the same issue for way too long. I purchased the new screen from Amazon and did everything step by step. Only issue I had was that I didn’t initially align the ribbons just right and screen didn’t turn on. Once I did, turned right on and screen worked like a charm. Thanks again!

I own a Chevy instead of a Toyota but this video helped me better understand the process of removing the touch screen from the LCD. My screen is acting like I’m touching it when I’m not and starts selecting buttons from the menu on its own. I’m going to remove it and try cleaning it up first before I go buying a new touch screen or LCD because they definitely are not cheap. Great video!

Just did this. Works perfect. Found a screen at factory radio parts. Scree is pricy but way less then a replacement from the factory and less then installing a after market radio with all the required junk to get full functionality.

My 4Runner had exact same damage (I punched mine, lol) sat at the dealer for 14 days, with a warranty authorization, because they couldn’t find a way to fix it. They had a $700 authorization. After watching this gem of a video I called to tell them that a factory Panasonic replacement screen is $149. I told them that leaves $551 in labor to twist a few screws...so let’s do this! Haven’t heard back from them yet. Worst case, I think even I could do that repair. Thanks man, awesome video.

I guessing what you mean by alignment. You have to press below the item you want to function. Buttons on the bottom of the screen cannot be reached. This happened to my wife's 2015 Camry SE.

Nice job! I need your help with my 2019 Toyota CHR. Where are you located? They want 6,600 to replace the radio but I feel like we should be able to replace just the screen. It's not the glass like the Tundra but the actual display. Can you help or possibly point me in the right direction? I'm in Arizona.

i hgave a 2017 prius out here in dubai. its not a North American verision so it does not have "entune". but it does have JBL nav screen. it keeps on rebooting and the dealership said to replace it because they couldnt update the software. can you please advise what size player/screen would fit on a 2017 prius? how can i measure it?

If I remove the broken plastic may the touchscreen tactile will still working properly?
I replaced my screen fine but for some reason I’m the upper left side of the screen, any buttons that show up (depending on what screen you’re at) only function if I hit the very tip top of said button. Now I know this sounds like a “you got the screen position on crooked” problem, but the thing is the rest of the screens buttons are spot on.
This means that say a button in the middle of the screen I can press ANYWHERE on that specific button and it will respond correctly.
did the digitizer just pop off or was there an adhesive holding it on?

unless there's branding on the screen cover's, leave the outside one on, doesn't hurt having it there till it bubbles or lifts up

I changed out the touchscreen and installed everything but the screen is still black. Almost as if it has no power but the volume and tune knobs work. Can’t figure it out.

So I had given up messing with it then about 2 weeks later the touchscreen function suddenly started working again. I believe it calibrated itself but I don't know how to force it to calibrate the touchscreen. At this point I could be wrong though and maybe I just got lucky.

Question for everyone. My Tundra radio screen is black - no illumination. The radio still works and the touch screen works - it registers taps and allow me to change modes. I just can’t see anything. Idea of the problem or anyone experienced this?
On the part that you took the screen final stage, you speed the clip and it got confused on how to do it. One of the last parts before the broken glass with the ribbon cable. Not sure you can clarify it. I need a better understanding. Just something to think about for future videos.

If you bought that screen from Toyota, it probably cost more than an entire 3rd party stereo.
Yeah for sure, however I don't they will sell just the glass they probably only sell the complete unit like $1400ish bucks. The glass is only $150

I punched mine out of anger, is it such a piece of shit everybody punches them. Dont believe any of these aftermarket sellers claiming you can get your steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio.
