JUST REPLACED MY TOUCH SCREEN ON MY PIONEER AVIC-Z2. Touch screen stopped responding. Watched this video. Bought new screen, installed and it all works prefect !
DUDE, I watched your video last night and paid particular detail to how you detached your flipdown face and take apart the touchscreen. I have an older 2010 AHV 4200VD and for some reason the colder weather this season was inhibiting the touchscreen sensitivity intermittently. I took it out of the motor track and disassembled the back plate unplugging and plugging back in the touchscreen bus , it was filthy, cleaned it up, slapped it back into the slide tray, and it works better than I when I got it new. Thank you!

This is great. I have my replacement touch screen and I was under the assumption that the foam around the edge was supposed to be adhesive and was confused that it didn't seem to be when I got it, however it looks like it just rides on the frame of the LCD

Have a AVH4100 NEX the screen stopped working (blank) one day out of the blue. I had cleaned the screen earlier with a light amount of windex, not sure if that was related. I hate to get rid of my radio, love it. symptoms were a blank screen, and every time I pressed the down button, it restarted the radio. Not sure if there are bigger problems, but it was working great.going to replace the LCD hopefully that resolves the issue. Will follow up, what where the symptoms you had?

I replaced the touchscreen which seemed to be the fix ! Thanks again for the video ! The problem I do have now though is that my color seems to have inverted. I tried redoing all of the connections again but didn't seem to help. Any idea ? AVIC z150BH

Question I have the avh 5200nex screen is not working some guy from ebay was selling a screen and I told the problem he said ,the screen is no the problem, problem is inside the radio some microchip is bad,radio turns on put the scree is black with some blue lines ,idk if is the scree or the radio ,what you think ?

My buttons on my AVH-x5800bhs have been out after the first time I wiped down my screen to remove finger prints. That has been years! No one, not even Pioneer shows this breakdown in order to get those front buttons fixed. No it is just about finding the parts and replacing it myself. Can't wait until it is back to normal. And never again, use any liquid near the screen and buttons. Thx bro!
Got my button card and installed the new one. Put it all back together and the button issue is still the same. That issue was the buttons do not match. Display button opens the CD eject screen, Volume lower opens LCD options, volume upper nothing, and so on. The new button card does exactly the same broken functions as the old card. UGH! What else could be wrong? So frustrated!
I’ve had this same issue on my avh 4000nex for years. Only my volume buttons work. So frustrating.

@@reneb91964 I actually found a cheaper screen on eBay lol but yes the 6.9 inch screen worked for me. The unit was sitting on my passenger seat and I slammed on breaks b/c a driver didn’t use turn signal.That made my unit roll on to the floor and crack the display 🤦🏾♂️. Once the display was cracked the touch screen stopped working completely. I could still see the screen but it wasn’t responding at all. Now it’s back working 100%
@@joe02323232 glad to hear it. My display went blank one day. Replacing the LCD, hopefully that is it. Buttons light, but not always responsive, hard to tell with no display.

What would cause a radio not to come on? Pioneer 4200 nex.
Fuse are fine. Bench tested and it keeps popping the radio internal fuse next to the wiring harness plug
I just ordered a new screen for nex4200 It keep changing colors and going off when the bass hits so hopefully thats whats worng with it thanks for the instructions

Hey there, I have a 4100 NEX, took it apart, my screen went blank one day, also the down volume seemed to reset the unit. Not sure I have bigger problems. Either way, can i safely clean the inside of the resistive glass? I will order a new LCD too. Any other suggestions?

My eject button stopped working along with skip tracks next to it. The other buttons work on the left side. All the buttons illuminate fine. Apart from needing the eject button to tale rhe screen out i cant find the button strip. Maybe if i just change the cable be ok?

I have seen they use the same LCD, but not sure about the Screen. There is also people who sell SD cards with the Firmware for 8400s that works with 4400, stating the only difference is cheaper screen and software??
Any testing ideas? AVH-4200-NEX does not power on from button at lower center of screen. Where should I look first?

Are the LCD Display and the Touchscreen on the Avic-z110bt the same as this one? The screen on mine is unresponsive to touch and there is a little burn spot from the sun shining in on it. What you think needs replaced in this situation?
Thank you for uploading the video. I have an AVIC F70 DAB and recently when I turn the volume up or down the channels on the radio station (DAB & FM) start changing. Is this a common fault with the button board? Many thanks and much appreciated if you're able to give any advice.
Were you able to solve this problem? Mine has developed the same problem. I am unsure if it is a hardware or software fault since it occurred after I updated the firmware but that may have been a coincidence.

Hey Doug, If you check the description there is a link to additional parts. Pioneer sells parts through pacparts online. I believe the button assembly is referred to as Sub Panel. The part number pacparts uses is Pioneer CNU3147. You can see the link here www.pacparts.com/part.cfm?part_no=CNU3147&mfg=Pioneer. I would have them confirm with an image before you place an order.

Great video ! Do you know anyway of removing dust caught between the casing touchscreen and the actual touchscreen? I’ve got dust caught between the layers of the touchscreen . It there a away of getting it out without taking the screen apart ?
no, it will be tough the seal is pretty good, maybe some compressed air but your best bet for a serious cleaning is to take it apart.
Yes you can depends what layers more than likely it's between the LCD and resistive touch you should be able to remove any dust particles my 4400 was really easy actually kind of pissed off because they didn't put any border lcd tape so no dust gets through.. But they did use it for the LCD screen itself...But now I don't have any dust so far it will happen again
Hi. I replaced both the LCD screen and ribbon cable on my AVIC 8100NEX. The screen is still black. No information about this on the internet that I can find.
I have a Pioneer avh 4100nex in a jeep and the removable faceplate got wet and the right side LED lights on the buttons went out. Anyone know where to get an LED replacement?
Being that the screen will not respond to touch will that effect the buttons

I have the pioneer avic x920bt and as soon as I start moving the radio died I can't even listen to the radio is that part of the bypass as well if so I have tried everything to bypass it and can't if I update the radio would that help does anybody think
It's actually quite easy to take all that plastic off just take your time ,I had to replace my SD card because I was stuck in boot Loop on my nex 4400 And I had dust under my screen I'm gonna try to do videos on it eventually I did one where I took out the SD card but I haven't posted it yet because I'm too lazy to edit the video but if anybody needs an extra SD card you can buy them on eBay or you can download it I made a couple extra copys..Also if you use a better SanDisk higher megabytes per second card it does make you load faster only by a little.. My detachable face I just took a part in about 10 minutes ago to clean the screen between the resistive touch and the lcd screen..One thing they should've used LCD border seal tape to hold the resistive touchscreen in place so no dust gets between the gaps in the stock one where dust can get between I just ordered some on Amazon when I get it and I'm gonna put it on ,,so no more dust gets between... But it was fairly easy to clean maybe I'll post a video ..Either way when working on these radios take your time with screws you can strip them very easy.. Lucky I had no problems I was very nervous taking that detachable face apart...I did everything while sitting in the car even cleaning it..lol

Hey, I have the 2330NEX also. It looks like a 4 pin based on the pacparts website for the 2300NEX. Would the aftermarket one you suggested work for the 2330 as far as you know? This video is great!!! I can totally do this repair on my own. Someone broke into my car to steal a backpack and the glass spray left marks on the touchscreen. Now, I'm thinking about selling my 2330 and upgrading to one with 2 usbs so I need to fix it to sell it.
On the pacparts website it seems the difference between the 2300nex and 2330nex touchscreen replacement is the 2330nex has cushion. Is there a way to fabricate that or use from the original.
Ima try this on my 210 ex the touch screen only works in certain places and the places i need it to work is where u adjust and turn on off the subwoofer settings
Hi, someone threw something at my screen, which I am guessing it the lcd. My radio is a avic 5200 nex. I can't seem to find a replacement screen for that model. Could I use an LCD from a different radio?
If you open up the radio you can get the lcd model. Then you could Google that lcd model instead and buy that instead of looking by pioneer part number but it could be a good chance no one has it sells it
Do you (or anyone) know if the touchscreen and lcd are swappable across all NEX units? I'm looking to replace my 2330 screen with something from a better model, hopefully with a capacitive screen.
They are not they use different pin outs on the main connection from board to radio and then the touchscreen and LCDs are different. We have taken about 7 different models and 3 did share the same LCD model but the others didn't.

from our research we don't think so the connectors are different.
Okay but mine is screwed in my car and it connects to my phone I hear music, but I can’t access it because the screen is completely black and I can’t see anything. I can’t even see anything!! But it still play my Bluetooth music from my phone. I can’t even take it out my car. I think it got water damaged because it rained and water got on it

My ave -2330 has a white screen would you happen to know what part I need to order ?? I have tooken it apart nothing obvious is bad but could you suggest something ??
We don't have the correct training or tools do diagnose that issue for you. My best guess and where I would start is by replacing the lcd

On 7200nex, Eject button does not work. It there a bypass to open screen. I can not pull the screen down. I am not sure if I ever even tilted or put a CD in the radio.
The unit resets when the power is disconnected. You have to bypass the setup screens to get eject to work. (Difficult when you can’t see what you’re pressing).
Mine is:
Touch screen twice in upper right corner then touch bottom center (where the ok usually is at startup)
That should allow the eject button to function, but it does nothing until the appropriate buttons (that you can’t see) are touched on the screen.
NEED HELP!! I replaced my touchscreen. All seemed to have gone well. I put it back together, and now my screen won't turn on. The buttons won't light up either. Yet it still slides open. I can still touch the screen and it works. I just can't see anything. Can't find anything online about this either. BTW, I have an avic z120bt

@@reneb91964 yeah. Apparently when I was replacing the screen I ripped one of the ribbons just a tad. I ended up selling the thing. The touchscreen replacement would have been rather easy had that ribbon but gotten tore.
@@nebeljc1 Thanks. Replacing the lcd screen. My touchscreen should be fine was still beeping. My buttons still light up and beep but not consistently. Hopefully lcd fixes it.
So the touch panel cracked doesn't mean your lcd is broken? I wasn't sure.

Could be your internal SD card is failing or about to... ..it Does strange things before it fails.. I had to replace mine because it went into a boot loop ...it's fixable and it's a pain in the neck but you would need the operating system on another SD card then you need to open the unit.. Look into fixes on Google there's a few you can actually download and follow their steps I had a few extra cards just incase for my 4400 but I'm not sure if it would work with your 4500.. either way they installed really crappy SD cards in the pioneer units.. they will fail.. Me I put a faster card in And it's SanDisk I'll post a video on my channel maybe because I actually filmed the first initial start up you'll see how fast it loads ,i also show how to take the unit apart I've just been lazy and havent uploaded the video

yeah its really common on these units. I would clean the button assembly like you mentioned
@@MobileMaxCarAudio Funny, I just got the board out and your message popped up. the button board and harness have corosion on the copper. I'll try to clean, but what do you reccommend for the weather stripping around the screen? Thanks!
