Today I came across this issue. Tried pushing in the reset button (while the car was off) and the screen would turn off as it should. Turned the power back on (not all the way to start the car) and the screen went back to doing the same thing. Then I thought to myself "Maybe it's something I got plugged up to my usb?" Which happens to be my ipod. So I turned the power off, unplugged my ipod from the USB (screen was still on loading at this point) and I pressed in the reset button and the screen turned off. So without the ipod being plugged in, I turned the power back on. This time it actually worked! Hopefully this helps those that still need it. My radio model is: Pioneer AVH-2300 NEX. The reset button is a tiny pinhole on the bottom right. I didn't have a paper clip, so I used the back of my earring 😁
I have a 4500nex, same issue....bought 2 sd cards off ebay, one from Russian guy and another.....neither made a difference.....bought a 3rd card from Pac Parts ( original Pioneer card) still no change....Help please if you know what to do.
Hey buddy I've never had this issue but I have the same exact unit. Have you gone online and downloaded the firmware update? This might be why you're having issues. I had to download the firmware update which is now I believe 9.0, you download it onto a USB formatted into fat 32 I believe, and then you have to plug it into either USB 1 or USB 2 that I don't remember, you have to read the installation manual for that, but make sure that you only have the firmware update on the USB, formatted, or else it could do damage far worse to your head unit. I hope this helps unless you have tried this already good luck.
I suppose that you fixed this problem but I'd help you. I'vegot 8600 AVH and the same problem maybe because the conections are bad when someone did the montage. Despite of my explanation, I'd say that Pioneer usually make this big mistake. Hugs from Spain.
I just looked it up on you tube, and there is a video called how to upgrade pioneer next 8100, which takes the same firmware update as the 7100. The only problem I possibly foresee is you have to get into the head unit to initiate the installation of the update. Take a look at that video and I hope some of this information will help you get it fixed, I feel your pain, they are not cheap, lmk if it helped.
