- I couldn't find a video that goes through the entire process start to finish to replace the digitzer in these camrys, so I made one! The part I used is linked below. The camry in the video is an LE model with the basic radio (no JBL or nav)

I just wanted to say thank you so much. I’ve been living with this for almost 4 years and this finally fixed it.
For anybody attempting this, there cannot be enough emphasis to be extra careful with the wires when you take everything apart. Almost gave myself a heart attack when I thought I snapped the large cable so close to the end of the disassembly. Good luck to everyone with this problem!
Thank you!! My bottom half screen was unresponsive, it wasn’t working with a pencil, pen or anything else. Instead of changing the whole screen, I decided to trust your video and ordered the part. It worked out perfectly. Thank you for sharing this video. One thing I’d like to add is to attach the sticky rubber on the edges of the previous screen to the new screen. Or else the new screen will slide up and down slightly.
This video gave me the confidence to do this. I did use the link to order the screen and they ended up sending me the wrong one 😢. I went on Amazon and bought one. Installed it using the video and it turned out great. Thank you for posting this!!!
Can you post the Amazon link or description please
Hello so mine is the 2017 with the jbl that screen would work ?
Thanks for helping me fix my radio! I really appreciate it Exp! Also not only did the video help, but your voice is very soothing!
It worked perfectly for me, I have fixed the non responsive touch screen in my camry 2015, thank you for the video, it was very useful! I was about to get a second had radio unit, not knowing if it's going to fix the problem. but decided to try replacing the digitiser myself.
Success. Thanks for the great video. For my 2015 camry LE, it was the LCD digitizer with the ribbon cable that takes off from the lower center of the screen
just fixed mine today. Got the same eBay one. Works perfectly now. Thanks!
Thank you very much for this video, was able to fix my 2015 camry in which half of the touch screen was unresponsive. Easy 15$ fix which could have cost me 1000 bucks.
Pretty simple replacement! Thanks for sharing, fixed the radio no problem. The only issue I had was the first to ribbon wire connections; they flip up and down to lock, they do not push in and out.
I really appreciate you taking the time to do this tutorial, Help me a lot I appreciate the step-by-step if it was not for that I would have broke the ribbon cables pulling to hard. Now I can listen to music and add my new phone.
Thank you so much
What a explanatory video. Excellent
I would like to give you a thousand Life for this video my friend it's exactly the hundred percent that I need for the riight to fix my same problem to h screen it's broken a thousand likes for your video 👍👍
It worked and thank you for sharing such a wonderful tutorial. You saved my money 🎉
So helpful , got my screen working , thanks !
I was able to change screen on a 2014 Camry SE thanks to your video. I was nervous, took my time, and watched your video several times before and during the installation. Good job saved me thousands and no dealer visit😅
@brakes940 Was your screen cable for the 2014 camry in the center or on the side? Looking to order the screen for my 2014 camry
@@ellisvogt9526mine was the center. I ordered the one made by Dorman
Worked perfectly the first time!
I follow everything you did now. My radio touch pad works perfectly , and all the buttons on my left steering wheel work. It took me about less than 2 hrs. I got mind on ebay cost me $13.99, thank you. ❤
Thanks for taking the time to make and share this video!
Good audio recording, great step-by-step detail, good pacing, and straight to the point. I replaced this screen in a 2016 Camry LE after the touch screen and steering wheel button controls stopped working. After ruling out the fuses, I figured a less than $20 part and your detailed video is worth trying before dropping money on a new radio. Everything is currently working so I suspect the old screen was shorting out and not allowing the steering wheel controls to do anything. I don't know if that was actually the case, but I'm really happy everything works again and appreciate your help!
I was thinking I was going to have to replace the whole infotainment system. Now reading that im having the exact same issues you had, I realized that it probably is the fucking digitizer screen I have to replace. My dumbass was thinking maybe the ribbons inside are loose but I know that my steering wheel buttons don't work, and my screen is having "ghost touches" all the time. Gonna buy the replacement digitizer and try the install. Hopefully I don't have to replace the entire system though!
@johngddr5288 how'd it go?
Thank you Sr… very clear instructions….
Worked perfectly, thanks!
I appreciate the video. My wife's radio works perfectly now. I found the touchscreen digitizer on Amazon for $ 17.00. I love a cheap fix, lol.
Can you share the link please
Yes, please tell me what the brand is. I'd really appreciate it!
I will try to do it
I am ordering the screen today hope it will work, i cannot connect my new phone. And the whole thing costs too much
Hello. Would you do this screen repair for people whose screen needs repairing?
Need to know where to go to buy one please
Oh my!
I did it and it still not working. Any ides what im doing wrong
Hey, thanks for the video, I've been going crazy trying to fix my screen that isnt working, but I cant seem to find out what model it is. Do you know if the digitizers are fairly universal?
If I go for any one the same size, is it likely to work?
Unfortunately the digitizers are not universal at all. If you have no additional features like the JBL sound system or GPS navigation built-in, your digitizer should be the same as mine as long as your headunit looks like mine and the face-plate number under the phone button matches mine. If you have these additional features there are other digitizers on ebay, I believe those are similar in dimensions but have the ribbon cables towards the bottom right.
I love you
@exp6094 Super informative video but does the engine need to be on to put car in neutral or just the electrical on. The different clips show the keys in, in the beginning but the keys are not in after, is there a specific way to do that to get the lower head off then move on to the upper head?
You don't need to "start" the car to place it into neutral. Just electrical on and place the car into neutral gear while the parking brake is on. You can leave the car on neutral throughout the repair. The location of the key throughout the repair does not matter at all.
@@exp6094 thanks so much I’ve never used neutral before, so wasn’t necessarily sure!
Did the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel unresponsive before replacement? Such as the volume and mode?
READ NEW REPLY BELOW! The fix in this video only applies to the touchscreen. It would have nothing to do with the steering wheel buttons not working, the two things are not related. For your steering wheel issue I would suggest looking into a clockspring replacement but it could be many things. Personally, I had another camry where the steering buttons would intermittently activate. Like when i turned the steering wheel, the volume would go up/down and the cruise control wouldn't work at all and the clockspring was the problem.
I have the same issue - let me know If you find a fix
@@RadioActiV_ UPDATE: others who have completed this fix have reported that their left side steering wheel buttons also starting working. I can't really explain why but they should start working after you replace the digitzer.
Does this work for cracked/shattered screens? Radio still works good just can’t use the touch buttons cause of the screen
Yep, when you crack the screen you have to replace the exact same part.
@exp6094
Will this work for a 2014 Camry with the same issue?
If you have a similar issue the digitizer is bad. So you just need to find a digitizer for a 2014 camry and while the directions should be similar they will not apply exactly to your car. I found a video showing the procedure on a 2014 camry czcams.com/video/xYxAlpud5VI/video.html
Where do i buy that replacement piece if u can help me appreciated
The exact ebay listing I used is this one: www.ebay.com/itm/384975826929
If your radio looks like mine and you have no JBL or GPS/Navigation features then this one will work for you too.
I really appreciate if you provide the part # and we’re you purchase
I purchased my digitzer from eBay. I have a link of the listing I used in the video description. I know that many others have found the same part on Amazon as well but I'm not sure what the link for the Amazon listing is.
Did you need to disconnect battery?
No, you do not need to disconnect the battery for this procedure.
@exp6094 thank you. Awaiting it to come in the mail. I'll be using your vid to walk me through. Already watched about 6 times. Wish me luck
I have the same problem. Do you stay somewhere in California?
Unfortunately no, if you're willing to arrange the shipping, I'd be willing to fix yours. Email me at mkhanaa21d@gmail.com if you want to discuss further.
I have a Camry 02/14! There are ko screens that work for this early 2014?
@@luciadiaz2881 The early 2014 camrys have a different style headunit. The procedure should be similar to this video but the specifics will be different. Your screen will also be different, you will have to find a digitizer for a 2014 camry on ebay. Not all 2014 camrys have the same digitizer you will need to find one specifically for your trim level.
Vidout change touch ee can.t calibration old
There is no way to "calibrate" the screen. You can't fix the old one by calibrating. You have to replace it. This also means when you put in a new one there is no calibration required and it is plug and play.
Where did you purchase the screen??
I purchased from this exact ebay listing as mentioned in the description and it's still working great! www.ebay.com/itm/384975826929
Keep in mind my 2015 Camry LE has the basic radio assembly (no JBL speakers or GPS navigation) If you have any of those features your screen will be different than mine.
@@exp6094 y0, appreciate the video bro, do you have another link that works? got de-listed
@@victormanuelcalvo1385 I've updated the link in the video description and in this comment, thanks for letting me know.
@@exp6094 what about 2015 Camry SE, different?
lol
Thank you for saving me $1100. I followed your steps and took me like an hour in total. Bought the screen of Amazon for $18 and it's working great 👍
Do you have a link for this friend? I’ve been looking on Amazon and I can’t find the exact one.
@@officialspek7670 I posted the link but they took it off.
What is it called plz?
