Other sites talk about software updates but Toyota says there are no updates available for my stereo....this was the fix and I'm back in business!

Thank you so much! I was scratching my head trying to figure out where to start on this problem. All I could see was a ridiculously expensive dealer visit. BTW I didn't lose everything - as soon as I started cycling the headlights the phone with red bar through it icon came up and it was back to normal. Thanks again!
@@GReviewz Ironic that most of us with older Toyota models are all having problems around the same time now. My touchscreen started getting buggy and I found the solution on another CZcams channel. Must just be the age of the head units.

I went back to the shop and they said it would cost 4000 because my radio was broken but after hours of looking on different threads, I found this video and the second solution worked and no less than five minutes. Thanks again.
Oh it is an expensive repair. If you went to the dealer either they’d do the same thing I just showed and charge you like 2 hrs labor or say you need a whole new radio!!
