Prius is a great car. We've had three, but the electronics has been the worst feature on every one of them - and the dealers are useless about it, guessing at best. This may be my last.
Unfortunately, this happens to me every time the Bluetooth on my phone is not turned on. If I turn on the car first, and then the Bluetooth on my phone, it will not work. I have to turn off the car and then turn it on again and then it will work. Still annoying. I wish there was a way to reset the radio without having to turn off the car.
@@manpreetsingh-uz3gg the bluetooth was missing on the device, i ordered a new one from ebay and just used the bluetooth from the old box and just kept the new screen
The problem is your phone has too many emails, contacts and messages. Here's the fix. Start vehicle and press bluetooth and un pair your phone. Now re pair the phone and when your phone is asked for permission for contacts hit DENY. Then DENY again when it asks for emails and messages. If you want to allow your contacts,email and messages to still go through your radio still then erase all messages and emails from your phone and your problem should be fixed.
A bit old video, just answering to web searchers. If you turn on bluetooth, you have to wait up to 5-10-20 seconds to turn on the whole bluetooth system. If you click twice, then you will turn it on and immediately off. At the beginning of the video he clicks 4 times (an even number, so this will lead to turn off) and then at the 5th click it would turn on, but he quickly turns off the car, so no time to turn on. After the restart he finally clicks 3 times (an odd number) and waits, which will turn on BT. And it turned off after the first click, but he immediately turned it off because of impatience.
maybe but i’m having the issue with the bluetooth never turning on. will have the car running for 10 minutes and still nothing. we got it to work once then half a song in the screen popped up “bluetooth stopped” any ideas?

We have the same issue with our Prius. Any recommendations on how to fix it. We have a 2012 as well.
Same issue. By chance have you had to replace the battery? Mine started doing this after relaxing the battery.

My dealer said it’s a problem with the function box and it’s $1000 to replace :/
It should be a recall item. Imagine getting in a wreck because you are frustrated and trying to “fix@ it while driving?
I can just buy a USB dungle for 100 and hace the Bluetooth that way... not paying 1000
