As a united fan, after watching the Prime documentary and this, I've had a little change of heart with regard to Kompany..I never really liked this man..maybe cause of the goals he scored against United or because he played extraordinarily every time he played against us. There was no doubt about his qualities, as a leader or as a player, however, I respect him much more now for his personality and how he is as a human. It is such a pleasure to find these insights sometimes. Football is a game of passion and heart. Whether we like one team or another, whether we play or are fans, it brings the whole world together. That in itself is so amazing!

Exactly my point Lloyd. It was so nice to see Kompany watching the games with his father-in-law who's a United fan. Also, finding out that Sergio Agüero and David De Gea are best friends, despite the local rivalry. These are gems of football.
It's not easy to say something good about a team or player that you dislike or (especially City and United fans) hate. So it must of been hard for you to post your comment. Respect to you. I think that Kompany is no doubt the best captain we've had especially in the now 36 years I've been a City supporter. Football is all about passion. About loyalty to the team you support and the players, managers etc. And our derby days are by far the most passionate in the world. I've never liked United and never will but I will admit (and I'm so sorry fellow City fan's) that I did admire Peter Schmeichel and was over the moon when we signed him

What can i say. I know that every player we have will leave at some point but Kompany leaving is one of my saddest day's as a City fan. We will miss him so so much. There has got to be a statue made of Vinne and placed ether in City square or at the players entrance. Vincent. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will ALWAYS be a blue. Really it was very hard rarely to have this man doing anything for city and devoted in his whole career to this team. He is legend. Am manutd fan but I love much for the work he paid off. And still he is on the right track of himself back on there in one day. We could all be standing for legends like him to lift city as modern stages. We all know mancity before kompany, aguero, Silva, and yaya toure were not like a manutd and Barca like big clubs. But hard work they done is eased for them become legends of this small club. As I said kompany is legend and must write a book and build on a statue to honor him for the long run and contest he did and won. Is the only captain of mancity won 4th epl crowned and lift. What a legend. Thank you vinnie for everything. You are legend and role model for next generations to see you.

@@johnnydejesus_ yep i was thinking about it after i've watched the all or nothing series, and keeping in mind that mikel arteta is spanish, so it'll be more easy for him to fancy the same style as pep. But in terms of knowing the club and showing passion to the fans and stuff, i think that arteta may lack that part. Which is in fact a big part of what makes pep a great coach(the passion). And kompany do have these two qualities.

I'm around the same age as Kompany and i'm Belgian too.I've always seen him as one of my favourite footballers,not only for his quality on the pitch,but also the charisma the guy has.
Anyway,to add to his status as a "Legend",i remember him fracturing his eye socket in the 2014WC qualifiers against Scotland,with Kompany playing on.He didn't want to leave the pitch.He played the whole 90 mins.Fractured eye-socket and a heavy concussion...GG
