Kompany is the real deal. A true captain and a proper down to earth real bloke. He could likely adapt anywhere. He's arguably been City's most integral player over the last decade. With only players like Yaya (when he was bang on form), Aguero, KDB, Silva, and Fernandinho, coming close in the impact over the years stakes.
True legend, and a truly top guy. Would have been a welcome addition at ANY top club in Europe. At his best he could arguably get into any team too.

Not true. It they didn’t go up in ‘99, City would just have sacked Joe Royle, and gone up the next season. Royle wasn’t really a good manager for City, needing to go up by the play offs was really a poor season.
Kevin Keegan arriving after Royle was sacked in ‘01, along with the chairman David Bernstein, is what turned City around. Royle’s record at City was actually nothing impressive (and I’m a City fan who supported them through the whole 90’s).
I must have been on the kippax with the Gallaghers a few times before they released any records!

I do not believe rough sleeping and homelessness is down to immigration, that feels like xenophobia (@Martin McGuire). If we take the figure for Net Migration from Oxford University's Migration Observatory ( migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/resources/briefings/long-term-international-migration-flows-to-and-from-the-uk/ ) we see that the 2017 figure is 282,000 people have entered the UK. Now if we look at the UK governments Office for National Statistics (ONS) 2017 figures for housing stock ( assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710382/Dwelling_Stock_Estimates_2017_England.pdf ) we can see that the total amount of dwelling is up 217,000. What is important to remember here is that is dwellings, not people. I don't know about your home but my home has more than one person in it, so I expect the figure for how many spaces for people to be between 217,000 and 651,000 (assuming 1-3 people per dwelling), therefore easily outstripping any demand from immigration.
So the bottom line is immigration is not causing pressure on housing stock. The problem with the housing stock is that housing stock has been seen as something to invest in for the rich who already have at least one home, want a pension income, or diversify their investment portfolio away from solely stocks and shares. The cutting of state pensions has also fuelled the demand for properties as investments due to baby boomers who expected a pension getting next to nothing (don't even get me started on millennials). The figures for owner occupied homes has remained fairly consistent at around 15 million since 2000, but there has been are large increase in private rental stock and the also private housing association while social housing has decreased drastically. In 2001, private stock was at around 4 million dwellings, it is now at around 7.5 million dwellings. Mancunians will know this story, as between 2000 and 2008, buildings were popping up all over the inner city / city centre, all flats, all privately owned. It totally changed Manchester skyline and Manchester's old mills and industrial ruins.
Therefore homelessness is down to cut backs in the services that operate as a safety net to help those in need along with the reduction in social housing.
A large number of people who end up on the streets have either served in the military or been brought up by social services. Both of these groups are in need of the support due to the traumas they have faced, which either isn't there at all or is so stretched due to the austerity cutbacks that they virtually do not exists. I'm not a fan of war or soldiers but the way we treat armed services personnel after they have served is also a disgrace, but I'll try and stay on topic. These groups need care before they are able to function as human beings, so saying they should just get a job is imbecilic. How can you hold down a job if you can't function as a human being properly.
My solution, would be some kind of tax on second homes or rental income, to dampen demand for properties as investments, and that income to be spent on social housing and homeless shelters.
It has taken time to find these figures and prepare this response, if you are to respond I hope you take some time to look for pertinent information to support your claims.

As a Man. Utd. fan, the Agueroooooooo moment made me numb but I have to say, City signed 3 PL greats - Silva, Aguero & Kompany.
Those 3 have been pivotal for a decade of success. Kompany has been a proper leader, I mean he's scored so many crucial goals (especially against us) and embraced everything about the club. I also think he's quite underrated as a CB.
Despite the rivalry, you simply have to admire the genius of those 3 players.

He's not underrated at all. Many would say he's overrated. No one ever says he's shit or anything like that, mainly positive comments, some have even said he's half the team (despite the fact he has quite a few mistakes in him).
Overall he's very good leader and in the top10-15 list of best CB's the PL has ever seen, but not underrated.

Once again Dzeko's goal from Silva's corner in 2012 vs QPR to make it 2-2 is overlooked.
Everyone always talks about Aguero's goal. I've always said Aguero is quality by the way, brilliant player 1of the best in the world for a long time. I'm just saying Dzeko's goal is hardly ever spoken about it's always Aguero's winner just after and even when Noel does name another important goal that played a big part in that title win for ManCity he talks about Kompany's goal.
Ok, it's fair to say when you win the PL on goal difference every single goal played a big part and you're not going to name all of them (And City needed 2 wins vs United to stand a chance so I get what Noel is saying about Kompany scoring in an all or nothing 1-0 win vs ManUtd in first half stoppage time last chance to have the title in City's hands, top with 2 games left instead of losing realistically with 2 games to spare if they don't win that game) but Dzeko's wasn't mentioned at all, yet it was such an important goal no less than Kompany's or Aguero's, it was the goal for me as a ManUnited fan when I knew ManCity were winning the PL, when he scored it was obvious another would follow, I'd already done my disappointing reaction to the Dzeko goal and when Aguero scored it was more of a smile and an I told you so... because Dzeko scoring in 92nd minute meant they had just enough time and now momentum at home against a 17th place team with 10men who were worn out and found out they'd just survived relegation already by now. City wouldn't have had either momentum or time had City made it 2-2 any later than they did.
