What bugged me about this movie is there's no other characters in the background, their entire world is empty. Its especially noticeable when they go to tourist locations in the story, like the London eye, that placed should be packed.
Also the random characters appearing in the second act also bugged me, there's no reason for them to appear, other than filler.

There's actually something oddly pleasing about it. Yeah, there's no shading and its drawn a little crudely but its fun to look at and it would be interesting to see this older design done in his current style (although to be fair it kind of already is but you get the point)

Over worked dad whos alter ego is a super strong man. A girl whos aware of her image but wants the boy. A mother who works really hard to raise a family but worried about herself. Younger brother who gets in trouble but alter ego is faster than normal.
Add female strange lady via edna mode. A lady who just wants to help the bad guy (mirage) and villian who looks like hes trying to help but is really evil (syndrome).
Just swap superheroes with monsters!

This is basically the emoji movie in terms of "let's rip off other properties (Minions, Incredibles, Hotel Transylvania) but not in anyway that suggests any understanding of story/logic nor seems remotely watchable". My 8 year old nephew thought this was bs. Pro tip: If your target demographic is too young to ('legally') create a facebook profile but can still see your work for the utter crap it is, ya dun fucked up.

Animation is actually derived from the Latin word “anima” which means breath. It usually has to do with life because you know, breath of life. So it is supposed to look lively.
Watch Zombellium as well, another animated ids movie Sky promoted the shit out of, which isn't too bad!

I watched this on Netflix to watch with my niece, What was really glaring to me besides the fart jokes were the accents. I mean I get it, part of it was made in england but it doesn't make sense why they all sound british! Heck I thought It was set in london until they said they we're in New York. Which of course doesn't make much sense.
I saw this movie, and it makes sense in its own world. the writing connects everything and all that jazz but the third act does drag on for no fucking reason just to bring to fruition the whole lesson for the daughter about beauty never lasting and the son realizing being a hermit is a bad idea. then the dad learns to stick up for his family???
honestly the entire thing where dracula just keeps trying to seduce her comes off as creepy and unwanted like he cant stand the word no.
I remember when this movie first came out I caught my mom watching this in the living room because she *really* likes Hotel Transylvania and thought this looked interesting on the surface. I was a passive watcher in the beginning with the bats (nonsense that was dragged out imo) but I was then enticed by the Dracula Tom Jones piano fest. That was cool. Then I tuned out right after that.
I love all things Halloween and paranormal but I tuned out of this movie so fast. When I looked over at my mom she wasn't watching it anymore either. I was thinking that what if I missed out on a bad but funny movie you get to play in October when you have nothing else to watch and you want some good laughs with a friend. Now I see that I was not missing out on anything good at all.

The Story: 0/10 (it consists of no story it's just mean spirited, so many unnecessary scenes added just to fill in the runtime, messy writing, god awful attempts at humor and being so boring that it rivals The Wild Life, Rock Dog, Boss Baby and Spark A Space Tail these things really do sour the whole thing)
The Animation: 6/10 (out of all things this film did, the animation is the best part of the film but the lip syncing is horrible here, the characters designs look extremely generic and some of the movements in a few scenes feel both choppy and cheap)
The Characters: 0/10 (every single character here is not likable at all they are all despicable here and when i saw the alternate title after watching this movie called "Happy Family" i laughed my butt off because i don't get the impression that any of the characters even like each other because of how many times they either get bullied by the people at school or work or how many points they snap at each other also making the viewing experience unpleasant. And when they aren't unlikable they are either annoying, bland or pointless (The Dad Character because of his annoying farting when in stress joke is grading and how one dimensional he is and the witch character being pointless because after the witch cast a spell on the family her scenes of trying to run away are as pointless as abbey's scenes from The Star))
Rating for Monster Family in my opinion: 2 out of 10 Stars (Awful)

Yeah, my mom and I were looking for movies to watch on like Hulu or something, and this came up, and I could tell just from looking at it that it was going to be bad, but there was nothing else interesting to watch, and so I was all like... Alright, fine... And yeah. It was pretty bad.
It honestly felt like we would have wasted less time just staring at a wall for an hour.
I thought the premise was interesting though, but what they decided to do with it was just boring, incohesive, and a waste of time.
In short, had potential but sadly falls flat.

It's really just a normal roller coaster, they just take turns to the normal one (which is free) and the VR one (costs).
I tried the VR one; they give you a VR Samsung case with, indeed, a samsung. The ride and the video start at the same time, and the video is designed to get simultaneous to the ride.
The VR video is just a story in which the family is in the same normal rollercoaster. BUT THEN, the witch appears, turns them into monsters and the ride goes crazy and spooky.
Overall, it's pretty shitty.

I’ve never actually watched the full movie but I genuinely didn’t know it was a real movie for a while because I saw some sort of shortened version at a 4D experience thing at the zoo.
This is a super petty comment but here goes.
Italy and Egypt are pretty close geographically. Its only like a 3 hour flight from Rome to Cairo. That includes 30 mins added for take off and landing. Just saying, somebody could get from Italy to Egypt pretty quickly.

There are other reviews but in other languages. Spanish speaking countries at least saw it. Besides that, the movie was absolutely terrible despite the animation being impressive. I'm surprised no one is talking about this garbage. The ending made me angry because Dracula wasn't that bad of a guy even if he tried seducing someone's married mom and wanted to freeze the sun. I think the most hilarious part of this thing was the mom literally considered being with Dracula.

I recently watched this movie, and I pretty much hated it. Here are all the reasons why:
-The lip syncing animation is kind of weird with the voice acting? Like at some points the animation would have a slight delay of them talking after the audio had them already talking.
-The fart jokes were like every 5 minutes.
-Dracula gives off this hella creepy vibe, not like scary a like creeper that stalks her because he wants to have romance with her.
-they made the girl teenager the most clique teenager character ever (you know, she likes the cute boy and she thinks so one understands her)
-none of the characters really stand out.
-there is a part in the movie when they first turn into monsters there is this REALLY LONG and drawn out chase scene where they chase after the which, and it seems like they just needed filler for the movie to go on longer.
-the clique moral of the story “your family is what’s most important to you”..it’s not original at all.
-the 3 bats in the movie were un needed and kinda weird idk
And I also agree with what you said at the end of the video. I hate it when companies think kids are dumb and will watch and like whatever stupid movie they make quickly (like the emoji movie). I’m 13 and I think even my 10 year old younger sister, like me, would hate this movie. It sucks, don’t be like me and watch it.

I was on a cruise ship, and they actually had some kind of vr experience based on the movie, almost like that rabbids ride. The only thing I can remember is that they went in a spider cave, and it actually felt like spiders were crawling up my shoulders. That was scary

Monster family is a sky original film and sky is only used on Europe which is why you haven't seen it yet but I think it takes the second act and shoves it into a large cylinder of water with cucumbers in it and took it out at sunset, froze it and left it behind for a decade and found it under the earth and decided to unleash it onto this movie

I watched this film when it came out and honestly the ads were animated better than the actual film
The funny thing is I just looked this movie up on CZcams to see if it also has bad lip-synching in german and turns out it does. Everyone except for mostly the daughter has terrible lip-synching in the trailer, which is weird. Also you can buy the movie on CZcams and it's still called Happy Family. And apparently it's based on a bestseller... So did they butcher it or has the book also been so terrible?

Back in October of 2017 my zoo had a 4D roughly 15 minute movie for Halloween called monster family and it's the same characters in this movie you reviewed. I thought you were going to review the 4D movie for a minute before I watched his video.

even after watching this video, i still enjoy this movie. i love the animation. it does look great, but that's the thing. it LOOKS great, the lip syncing is fucking god awful, i noticed it during my first watch of the movie. but even tho the story and characters are bland and the lip syncing is terrible, i still enjoy the movie. i watch it on netflix ever once in a while. there was a period of time where it was not on netflix. i thought it was a netflix original, so i thought they were taking it off to fix the voices to sync the animation. but its not netflix's fault so oh well.

If I could request one movie review the curious George movie (0’6) it was my first movie ever watched and this channel could do it the justice it deserves. Just look at how terrible English dubs of foreign films can turn out, and animated films are supposed to be easier to dub than live action films, but I've seen some live action Asian films with better English dubs.
