“Eternals” is going to be a major film in phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Set for a November 6th 2020 release date, the film will dive into the history of the MCU by featuring the god-like creatures that helped create it. These creatures are known as the Celestials and we’ve seen them featured in the MCU before in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. While the Celestials are known to be so strong that they can create and destroy planets, there is another major cosmic entity that can take on a Celestial in battle. Galactus is an immortal entity that devours entire planets. While he was featured in Fox’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” he has yet to make his official MCU debut. But with his incredible powers and his role as a universal balance, we’re predicting that he’s going to make his official appearance very soon, and “Eternals” will likely lay the groundwork for the role he is set to play. But is Galactus another Thanos? Is he going to be a hero or a villain? And will he be able to take on the Celestials? Check out our video to find out everything you need to know about what a battle between some of the most powerful cosmic beings in the MCU might look like.

The Celestials DIDNT banish the First Firmament, he fled and hide because the battle between the Celestials and Aspirants tore him apart. As for Galactus, you were literally all over the place. A lot of what you said occurred to “other” Galactus’s, from other realities and universes. And before the 'First Firmament' storyline, the Celestials were hinted at coming from a dark (no light) dimension. I think I read that in a Fantastic Four / secret wars crossover comic. The FF travel to a dark/lightless dimension. But, when they turn on the external lights, its filled will celestials ..all, kind of, sleeping/inactive.
There was also the hint (back then) that they were like a 'hand of god'.
I admit, I liked it when there was enough vagueness ..that different writers could stamp their own suggestions/hints at what the Celestials were ;)

Whenever Galactus goes to an advanced alien world it's population flees into space so they can get as far away from him as they can.
I remember in the comics when Galactus destroyed the Skrull homeworld he was so hungry he didn't even bother to use his energy siphoning equipment he just sank into the core of the world and absorbed all of it's energies until it exploded and he just floated on his back in space fully nourished and his starship came and scooped him up.

Eternals were genetically altered humans. They're not part eternals part humans. Galactus was stronger than the lower level celestials in comics but is weaker than the higher tier celestials like exitar. Plus galactus and thanos aren't alike at all. Thanos does what he does because he thinks it's right and because he wishes only to please lady death whereas galactus knows what his doing is wrong but knows that he has no choice because his a vital aspect of the universe and that he has to stay alive in order for the universe to survive which is why his forced to devour world's.

Galactus eats planets for 2 reasons 1. Like you said he's important to the universe . He is 1 third of the triumvirate oaa death galactus. 2 because celestials plant eggs in the center of planets and they did so to such an extent in there home universe that they were literally shoulder to shoulder filling it all. He eats almost exclusively planets with eggs.

@Matt Zilog please provide a scan showing exitar is more powerful than 9 combined celestials?
The 3 celestials merged which means they are more powerful than 3 individual celestials teaming up separately. Thor damaged exitars armour, if he can do that it makes sense that Galactus can do way more.
There's also nothing to suggest the 3 merged celestials were average.
I'm not taking your assertions which seem to be assumptions apart from the supposed claim about exitar being more powerful than 9 combined other celestials.
Also even if it is true that exitar is more powerful than 9 combined celestials, that only means that he alone has a piece of evidence suggesting he may be more powerful than Galactus, not any of the others.
Galactus may well have been able to take 9 celestials separately but as a team, he was by all the evidence shown, handling those celestials fairly easily until they merged, no evidence that they wouldn't be equally succ awful against exitar when merged.
Further, Galactus is a being who's power is dependent on how well fed he is so it's fully possible if he was far more fed he would take those merged celestials.
I'll certainly take on board the evidence you are claiming if you show a scan but it's got to be more zed with all the other evidence as well.

Galactus was taken down by the Mad Celestials and was brought back by Franklin Richards in Hickman's run of the Fantastic Four so Galactus can absolutely get his ass kicked by the Celestials. Galactus did end up killing one Celestial but he couldn't handle the other three after they merged with each other. The long and the short of it is, Galactus can kick ass but he can get his ass kicked as well, just depends on the story being told. Can't wait to see how it all plays out!

Celestials, however strong they may be, are still sentient life forms of the first universe, which puts them a stage below the fundamentals like Eternity, Infinity, Order, Chaos, Galactus etc
'IF' the Celestials could defeat Galactus, the other forces must intervene or simply re-establish him and take out the celestials.

After all, Google Null & check his info if not familiar with the Symbiote God. After all the MCU could use a nice run in with the darkest symbiote of all. I'm detecting some major clashes of the Celestials coming up in the MCU as well, Surely the mention of Galactus in the Eternals would be cool, or, if Marvel wishes they could have Glaactus in a series instead, which is just as decent of an idea. After all 10 episodes of the World Eater would be cool along side with Silver surfer in a live action series..

From what I've seen/read about the character Galactus I'd say he could defeat a Celestial or two or three if fully fed. My own personal understanding of the character is that he is similar in power and stature to the Celestials yet slightly greater. I say this bc not only is he a Massive, and Massively powerful, being but he is also a force for balance in the universe. For this reason I see him as a being with one foot in the Celestial camp and the other in the Abstract being camp. Is this understanding of Galactus flawed?? I'm open to correction here...

    • @Pogol13
      @Pogol13 Před 5 měsíci

I think your understanding is correct. That's pretty much how Galactus is generally. He is unique in all creation. He exists in the physical universe, but he also occupies a position among the Abstract concepts of creation (in Galactus' case, he represents Necessity). It's one of the reasons I love the character so much. He truly is in a class all his own.
He is powerful enough to take on an entire host of Celestials when sufficiently fed. I always like the battle in Earth X, even though that was Franklin who had taken the form and function of Galactus.
One thing I dislike, and it came out of Hickman's Mad Celestials story, is the notion that Galactus becomes more powerful by consuming more worlds. That's not how it works. If he's fully fed from a single world, then that's all he needs.

Galactus is stronger than some of the named and important celestials. Galactus is for sure not stronger than the Dreaming Celestial. That Celestial is equal to the Fulcrum. That's at the top of the Marvel hierarchy.
Galactus is stronger than regular Celestials. Galactus is a singular entity that serves an universal purpose; Where as the Celestials are a race of entities that serve an universal purpose.
So, average Celestials would need a group or combine forms to defeat him. But the strongest Celestials should be almost as strong, as strong and some being stronger than Galactus.

TL;DR 1v1 Galactus slaps 95% of the Celestials. But if 3 or more Celestials fuse into 1 being, Galactus loses. And that's average strength Galactus. Black winter Galactus is a whole other story tho

It would depend on how well fed Galactus is. And there appears to be no upper limit how much energy he can consume. If he consumes TAA II he could definitely take out a Celestial. The innards of a Celestial appear to be a bioverse and we know Galatcus needs the bio energies of planets so it is plausible Galactus can consume them.

  • @suki-artsanimations807

Well that depends on which celetrials are which version. Also they have fought glactus on different version of celestials which galactus could only take down one and was greatly injured between 4 but then they just fused and beaten galactus on the edge of death. We do need to talk about the different versions of galactus. (Not to mention i think the strongest onces were ultimate because they are actually the gods and reason universe was even a thing.)

In the Marvel series Earth X you find out that worlds with sentient beings are actually eggs for Celestials, and that to keep universal balance Galactus arose to consume the life energy of these planets to stop the egg/planet from hatching. And eventually when earth hatched it would be a very powerful Celestial as the life that the planet generated (like an immune system) rose to superhuman and was able to drive off Galactus, somthing that hadn't happened before.

How can galactus be beneath something he is destined to devour at the end of the universe? Celestials being above him is silly.
