- Here is ONE of the best ways to make a whip FAST CHEAP and EASY. This tutorial is NOT the method I use to make my bullwhips. It's just a Fast, Cheap, and Easy way to build a nylon bullwhip. It's a recipe that I invented for beginner purposes only, not for professionals.

To anyone who Wants to keep the particular plating pattern, when you drop a strand, instead of going over 3 under 3 still, switch to / 3 under 2 on the side you droped the strand, and the plating pattern will continue the exact same
Do you sell paracord whips?
I found one long nail like that in our frontyard and thought I might need it some day, today is the day!
I got one of them sitting in my room I found at work, definitely glad I kept it!
I just finished my whip using your video, thank you for making this a very straightforward process. Now I have to make another one.
Instead of electrical tape, I would try cloth tape. I used that type to tape up hockey sticks. And on the top of the shaft as you do your wraps twist the tape to create ridges to give your gloves something to hold on to . Would be an interesting alternative. Plus the cloth tape doesn't stretch and is incredibly sticky
Hockey tape cures so many ills.
I just saw ZNA Productions featuring one of your fine whips and I was truly impressed by its quality and style, so congratulations man you just earned yourself a new subscriber!
You dumb he made that not rhis guy
@Jake Lowe Please tell us what grade you're in with that shit show of a typing job you did?
9:17 for my future reference
As well as 15:07
You cracked me up with your vice..The best ; The only! Thank you. I'm going to use your tut.
Watched tutorial with my sons, thanks for quality - subbed!
I saw "Fast, cheap, easy" and thought it might be a video about my mom.
She got a number?

Damn bro.
Is your mom my ex wife? 😂

Here because of ZNA. Great video. Liked and subscribed.
Just finished this 80 inch whip from your tutorials. Thanks!
I can't load an image yet, sorry.
Question! I see in his video when he drops strands on the overlay. He does under 3 over 2. My question is what about when you get to 4 strands on each side. Does it then go to an 8 plait style. Under 2 over 2. Or still continue doing under 3 over 1 if that makes sense
Thank you for this tutorial! I love the weight of this whip. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial for a 6 foot whip using the same shot loading method? Would be much appreciated!
You can use proportions to change its length.
Ah you want more power and length for your women or man eh? xD jk
Have you ever made a whip without gutting the outer belly plating? I made one last night and missed that step by accident. It works, but I can't tell what downfalls it has by being thicker and less flat plating. I'm wondering if it would be worth it to unweave the outer belly and gut, then re-plate.
Great tutorial thanks for sharing
Im glad I found this video, I'm on my second one and these are great
I’m confused on how he plated the second belly. What did he do with the two red strings starting out? Someone please help thank you
Matt Irvin same dude I started from the bottom like the first layer and it’s turning out fine
Dude you crack me up lol "This is the best vice I've ever had.. it's the only vice I've ever had.. but it works so well!" Great video as well though. It's awesome when experts use there extensive knowledge to simplify a complex process without overly compromising quality. Us beginners really appreciate it! Cheers!
For the base layer next to the nail but before you tape it, I've got a bit of a question. The second paracord length of 2 1/2 ft, is it also filled with bbs?
Only the core has bbs
The video seemed to cut out early for the order you were pulling the strands to start the overlay. I saw the first few, does it just go in order longest to shortest?
Damn man!! Wish you was closer! I’d love to hang out and make a darn whip! This is super cool young buck! Hella awesome!
Hey I got a question, can I convert your measurements for this whip to a 6 foot whip and a 9-10 inch nail to make a 6 footer? And what would those measurements be by chance?
spcolcord - I don't have that, but use the proportional equation to covert all the measurements.
So was that whip from the beginning of the video this one here that your making or do we get the p g whip. What do you use besides electric tape
Thanks for the video. What else can i use instead of electrical tape?
u can use hockey tape or any athletic tape used to wrap equipment, its p cheap
How did you get the bbs in the chord I'm still stuck on the a team part🤣🤣🤣
Thanks man you just got another subscriber
Good morning. The longer 'core' - should i remove the inner strands of that 4 ft length or leave them? i have my bb strands done and not sure now.
That sound 😍💕
Would you consider making a video on what to look for in a whip, how to tell if the whip purchased is a good one and after a months use or so what defects might you find if it is not a well made whip. What to look for in a good whip?
More bellies generally equals a better meet with, you won't run from a reputable dealer that is not made with electrical tape, And likely one that has been waxed. Otherwise, aside from shoddy plating comer you can't really tell much from just looking at pictures of their whips, and everything else is entirely up to personal preference. Personally, I prefer a 7 football whip, or a 3 and a 1/2 foot snake whip, depending on what I'm using it for
You use artificial sinew instead of electrical tape, and that's what I did with my core and it took all day long. (literally)
Any tips on getting the lacing needle through 550 paracord? None of the needles I find will fit.
How could I scale this up to 6 feet?
If you make this whip round of the sharp tip of the nail a little bit with a file to prevent ripping
Hey what changes would you need to make for a 6 foot whip?
If this is 4 ft multiply by 1.5.
@@tac7826 Math is hard :)
if you drop your ends and change the over under on the side you dropped you can keep the pattern,,,,like under 3 over 2 then you drop one so on one side you are under 3 over 1 on the other side under 3 over 2 till you catch up to the next one to drop off then it is the same on both sides
stop using that gd tape and use sinew instead
Is the 4ft core paracord gutted?
Can you use wood for the handle?
What tape do you use in your bull whips professional to bind them since you don't use electric tape?
Artificial sinew instead
Have you ever considered using jb weld instead of glue so the nail cant spike through or using a long bolt instead of a nail the paracord can then grip the threads
The pair record will definitely stay attached just fine, unless you are planning on using your whip to Swing around like Tarzan. As far as the different core for the handle, I find that 1/4 inch dowel rod is actually a perfect, as I can then thicken it up with layers of electrical Tape or heat shrink tubing if I decide, but I generally prefer a thinner handle
Hi, I have some questions. I was wondering what diameter your cord and BB have. Other then that, great tutorial.
Greats
Ive made many of my own whips, its just regular 550 cord and BB gun BB's. Ive also made the weighted cord with the light chains from ceiling fan lights. Not as heavy but makes a whip just a well.
Como é que faz isso , estou a uns meses de ver o material usado mas não consigo . Eu sei fazer todo tipo de tranca !
What is the wrap named that you're using on the handle?
when you offcenter the smaller strands by 6 inches, do you alternate the sides so that its even on both sides or do you make them all offcentered to the same side?
Swig Swag - It's up to you. It doesn't affect anything, they get dropped before they can do anything.
What if you used an 7 inch bolt instead of a nail? And instead of abandoning the short strand can you plait over it?
@CaliberWhips do plastic bb's work?
nice,thank you for video,so i'm understand.
How would you know what lengths to cut your strands of paracord if you wanted to make a longer whip? (say six or eight feet for example)
Use proportions.
What is a better alternative to electrical tape if one wanted to be a better whip maker? Do you have an alternate tutorial NOT involving electrical tape?
Artificial senue is what a better product, watch Nick's Whip Shop, he'll show so many better methods of making a much better whip.
I’m trying to make this whip and I’m having problems with the plaiting is there any tips or tricks to getting the pattern to be straight on all sides of the whip or any videos that shows and tricks
Plait towards you not away from you like this guy does in the start off.
Easiest way is if you want the left top strand to come through reach through on the right side down how ever many strands and pull it through and over the others.
I'm wanting to do this, but I had one unclear question. For the core you had two strands with bbs and one without. Does the one without bbs still have its inner strands, or have they been removed?
Fat Habit if you leave the longest length of paracord with its inner strands it makes last longer
I would say he doesn't have it gutted because it gathers in better with those inner cords inside the paracord they kind of all seat together when you're wrapping it with the tape if you cut it out it doesn't have the depth to hug into the other two beaded strands.
@@rebeccasilveous8898 Not only that I, but it Helps to make the whip throw coils significantly more consistently, As it helps the weight taper more consistently towards the end. Otherwise, you're liable to end up with a relative "flop" where the shot loaded portion ends, As I unfortunately discovered
Great video thx,
Hi there, just curious where you buy your paracord? I know there are a lot of options and I'm wondering because I am hoping to get it not to expensive yet still okay quality for the purpose of the whip.
Hannah McL - I get my cord from ParacordGalaxy.com, they offer a wide selection as well as good prices. Be sure to buy USA Made.
@@caliberwhips9595 thank you! Sorry for another question but whenever you are talking about or using paracord, is it always already cored? Or do you use regular for some parts and then cored for others?
@@hannahmcl3960 - I plait with gutted cord.
Army navy stores sell parachord for a good price. Its general $1 per 10 feet
at 5:50 is the 4'6" paracord gutted or left intact?
I just pulled one of those nails from the ground for marking pipes. Also, can you use lead pellets for added weight?
Did the overlay go black, red, red, black, black, black
For the 4.5' piece of 'normal' cord for the core, you didn't specify if it was gutted or still had the inner strands. Just that there were no BBs.
That caught my attention too. I think this is the only piece that is not gutted because you want the volume for the core.
Yes it is ungutted
If you coud change somethings about how you made this whip what would it be?
Bruce Grainger - Maybe make the strand lengths longer.
did you go on to the single strand? at the end
How many times have you whipped yourself before getting pretty good at that cracking action lol I can imagine it was a couple at least
I don't know if I missed it or something but so you pull out the innards of the Paracord before plaiting?
Squid Master - Yes
@@caliberwhips9595 I figured. I got about 12" in and realized I was already running low on the belly strands lol. I still ran out way short though. Had to give the strands some extensions so now it's half camo half red. Thankfully it's just the belly.
can i use round-nose shot with that cylander looking body instead of bbs?
If you can get it to work, sure.
The subtitles at the beginning of the video, when hes cracking the whip.
"Applause"
Im in the US army and im deployed right now, do you think you could make a video showimg how to make a more minimalistic whip if possible, i don't know where im gonna find bbs, but i have ductape, paracord, and theres some assorted 6 to 8 inch nails laying around. For tools, i have pliers, a knife, and a lighter
@Robert Peruzzini - Check out my survival bullwhip video
What would you use instead of the tape?
Artificial sinew
Electrical tape is fine but what about hockey tape with hockey tape be okay for what making not saying that it's for sale or anything but just would it be a better product to use instead of electrical
Great, Now I too can be a Belmont
are you supposed to remove the inside strands when doing the belly and other layers?
Nevermind, its answered further down in the comments.
If I wa.t a whip 3 times as long can I just triple all the lengths?
Want*
Very nice preparation of bullwhip.
Any reason you have no whips for dale on ebay
WHAT MEASUREMENTS DO I NEED FOR A SIX FOOTER?
I made it. The outer layer is short by about 1-2 feet so cut a 20-21 for the long strands. Otherwise it came out to a 4’2” whip.
I also used lamp chain instead of bbs
How could I go about making a 4 ft whip like this?
Can you explain the under 2 over 2?
You could also use lead sinkers instead of bbs
do you gut the paracord strands
Zayne McLearran yes at least that’s what I did when I built mine a few years back
Can these be made with plastic BBs for costume purposes?
If you're making it for costume purposes, shot loading it at all will be unnecessary. Honestly, though call me if you are going to go to all the work too making one that looks realistic, may as well just shot load it and make it functional
How do you lay out the 2nd pattern:/??
What size is the lacing needle you used?
Ikr all the ones I have are too small or large...
What is used instead of electrical tape if the whip is to be sold?
KungKras - You could use artificial sinew or hockey tape.
@@caliberwhips9595 I see. Thanks!
I don't use a vice or any other tool to hold the whip to anything in front of me I put the back end of the handle against my chest
But the paracord for the plating Is full at the inside or i Need to take away the interior of the paracord ???
Yes, gut the cord.
@@caliberwhips9595 thank you! I was wondering the same thing. I thought it was gutted but wasn't sure.
Saving my place for later: 8:47
Two years later...
When and where do you use the BBs?
Fred Flintstone The BB’s are in the paracord of the core.
Anyone have a link for a good vice?
Dude, what’s the diameter for the loaded bb? 6mm? 2mm? Diameter for the paracord? 4mm?
Could I just use a bellie as the whip?
If you don't use electrical tape what do you use??
Devon Weathersby a good substitute is hockey tape
Your are awesome
How much to buy that whip
How long is in the end?
Does it matter what side we offset to on the first belly
not really
Hey how thick is the paracord ur using i live in europe and i can buy 4mm paracord is this thick enough???
Stijn Jaspers - Maybe, I'm not sure. Any thickness of cord will do, as long as you have enough strands to cover it.
Caliber Whips ok thx i orderd 200 feet red
@@caliberwhips9595 does the longest core strand have the inner strands ? ?
Doesn't really matter. Gutting it would make the 4 plait easier to braid.
@@caliberwhips9595 it turnt out very nice is looks amazing dor my very first whip
What size parachute cord
the four and a half foot length of paracord is it gutted or is it a pizza paracord with inner strands inside
Almost always they are gutted
When your a veteran and someone disrespects you
So how much paracord do i need to have?
How much could I buy a whip from you for
Can I use "Athletic tape" instead of Electrical tape?
Only if you play a sport
My mom work in home depo also what happens when put electrical tape in whip? Im nervus pls comment me
The electrical tape will start to crack and dry out eventually and it will just cause the whip a catastrophic failure it will crack in a huge spot all around and make your in her belly separate and look like it was put together in segments
Pete Lopez thanks for the response,I didn’t ask the question but was wondering the same
no problem
Yo.. have you had a bad experience gripping pipe??
